body art?-- 1st. pic attatched, I consider beauty body art- I designed my tattoo and luv it not into body piercing except for my ears... SMiles
  3. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz what??? explain please...this is absolutely ridiculous - have made 1,300 jumps to date, ....when I pack up to go to d.z. always bring a cooler with food and snacks (many luv me for that) - would never get close to aircraft without knowing blood sugars, have always carried glucose tabs in my jumpsuit pocket- make sure d.z. operators are aware I am diabetic... also I supply glucose tabs for their first aid kit. Always eat before I manifest.... never had a problem. SMiles
  4. beauty response- best one I've heard Great to hear there are other skydivers with diabetes- I am still injecting insulin (30 yrs.) and proud to have not had any complications due to diabetes. Think it is time for a pump???? Figure type 1 you can have way better control- less complications for sure than type 2. SMiles SMiles

  7. -this commercial should be shown, might wake up a few people. My grandparents left this country better off than they found it for my parents. And my parents have left this country better off than they found it for my generation. Our generation is not going to leave this country just a little bit better off than we found it for the next generation, our children and our grandchildren--- SMiles
  8. I have type 1 diabetes (diagnosed at 10)-- so do not get drunk, (can drink everyone under the table) --just get high blood sugars and have to inject more insulin--(boring) You'll find me at saftey meetings though.. One night I'll have to count how many times I get asked "hey, you want a beer?"--after 15 yrs. of saying "no thanx"............. Get along well with those that drink except for when I am leaving and everyone says- "no way- don't drink and drive" (meanwhile have not had 1 drink) SMiles
  9. ya- I've had fun with flash 4--years back, but certainly not with the drawing tools- re: import my graphics into flash from corel draw. 11. shoulder injury? I have also been in agony with what I first believed to be torn rotator cuff in left shoulder - physio was doing nothing so went to specialist and after many tests and examinination was told I have a "frozen shoulder"....6 months to a year to heal---bla bla/ got a shot of cortisone and 6 months later - still cannot sleep/ continual pain/ only type of relief is heating pads and pain killers. Get shooting pain down the arm into elbow and down into left thumb- do all my exercises and stretches and at this point cannot accept I am a gimp- (my wing is broken ) I also have arthritis in my joints and ache in winter which could be side affect of Crohn's disease.. (Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract) So....inflamation....dr. perscribes anti inflamatory- and they do not work. Recently have learned more about my body...(thought you may be interested) #1 being my body for some reason overproduces TNF-alpha and this is the cause of inflamation in GI tract and joints. So..new technology today brings a monoclonal antibody (mouse and human proteins) that is called Remicade (infliximab)--and I have started treatments that are infused. So instead of being treated with anti-inflamatory this drug changes the body chemistry so inflamation stops. Remicade specifically targets a key cellular messenger involved in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. This messenger is called "TNF-alpha" and it causes inflammation and activation of the immune system. Overproduction of TNF-alpha is believed to play a role in psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease. Remicade binds to TNF-alpha on the cell membrane and in the blood- stopping inflamation. Ya! there is hope for the aching joints Treatment is not advised for those with specific heart conditions, unsure if sinus ryhthm is included... All the best makin thru the winter and your move SMiles

  13. Lets see, an artic ridge of high pressure over the B.C. Interior continues to push cold air through the coastal inlets and valleys of the north and central coasts. Strong outflow winds combined with outflow cold temps. are producing wind chill of -30. Blizzard conditions over inland sections of the north coast - moisture laden warm air associated with this disturbance is moving over a shallow layer of cold air in the eastern lower fraser valley......ice rain, black ice.... - can see awesome icicles hanging outside on my lantern and as cannot drive in these conditions---get to stay home from work SMiles

  15. -go through all the phases of loss that exist: Denial, Anger, Depression, Acceptance, and finally-----------------Healing. What you have to do is: accept reality for what it is, don't blame yourself, allow yourself to hate her, experience the pain, surround yourself with people who care, focus on the happy things in your life, (skydive) keep yourself busy, don't forget the good parts of the relationship and most importantly fall in love again. 16. closest I've been to death: riding on the back of a soft tail with suicide clutch, traveling over 120 mph- screaming around a corner to find traffic backed up in both lanes- initial reaction was to jump off --but held onto my partner with all my life and rode it out sideways between traffic, out a space to right and along shoulder of rode / burnt hole in my heel as was wearing thongs and gripping bike on exhast pipe- huge rode rash along side of my body but we survived...so close. To this day I can close my eyes and visualize the whole thing (happened 20 yrs. ago)-- was so fast- no time for my life to flash before my eyes- in shock that I had survived and was able to stand up but passed out looking over the cliff we were so close to going over/ woke up in hospital very pleased. during birth of my son, morphine epideral for cesarean section- anesthetist was injecting morphine in my spine and kept asking me to wiggle my toes, so I kept wiggling my toes- my legs were numb but I could wiggle my toes!! The morphine came right up into my head (best rush anyone could ever ask for --but I am having a baby here and this was extremely dangerous)......I was given some drug to counter react the morphine and came to -barfin my cookies- babe was born fine/ I was scratchin my body all over for days. To this day wonder how much my son was affected as was very quite as a newborn. AAD saved my life when I was very young in this sport (static line progression outa cessnas in canada-mastering 15 sec. delays and worried about starting to turn and correcting it to stay on course heading)...headed with friends to boogie in coolidge. Simply put I should not of been there. Manifest arranged an instructor to jump 1 on 1 with me. He checked out my log book and said what I needed was to get some freefall time from 13, 500 (first jump was tandem back home-) Everything inside was screaming "don't go for this"... climbing to altitude I was to nervous to visualize my jump- exit aircraft with instructor having grips/ fall flat and stable/ instructor would release grips and fly infront/ I would practise 180 turns to right and left/ altitude awareness/.......all went to hell the second we left the plane, he lost his grips/ I was alone and started a great flat spin/ instructor tried to dock and I kicked him in the head/ - worked with upper body to stop spins not aware I had legs (one knee down)- brain locked. Stopped my spin- then checked altimeter- 18,000 came in to pull and whommmpa- there was a huge round reserve over my head....enough time to make a turn and catch my breath before landing----between 2 huge cacti. In shock I was alive- looked down to see I still had both my handles- had not deployed my main. Debrief debrief debrief- leave me alone- I want to smoke- I am in shock- I am alive....and totally afeared. Walked into shop and my eyes focused on a sticker that read "shit happens" and bought it, quit skydiving for afew months angry that I did not go with my gut instinct and learned --learned a good lesson-- still have my shit happens sticker. out of body experience: really really high on mda, (it wasn't dry yet, placed on a glass sheet and spread out thin to dry, I licked my fingers a few times) laying on my bed- I floated out of my body up about six feet and looked down at myself....wow SMiles

    nyuk, nyuk...

(joke from Maxim Magazine) Interior Design- Three men are arguing in a bar. The first says, "God must be a mechanical engineer--just look at the joints in the human body." The second says, "God is an electrical engineer--look at the nervous system." The third says, "God has to be a civil engineer-- who else would run a waste disposal pipeline through a perfectly good recreational area?" SMiles
  20. Ontario???- What about B.C. bud??---(the best place to grow) I'll have to contact CBC - Rick Mercer's Monday report as-**B.C. bud rawks** compared to Ontario. Wonder how much of the 6000 lbs. or 123 bales- was hash. SMiles

  22. I agree with that I believe I got it from changing gauze too frequently after the extraction....blot clot didn't form. The size of the human jaw is getting smaller and smaller- more than 80% of people have no room for wisdom teeth in their mouth- plus more need also to have back molars also removed so the rest of their teeth have proper spacing in their mouth. Re: if your dentist recommends to have wisdom teeth removed- --------------get them removed as soon as you can. My son had his removed when he was 14- plus back molars when he was 16- he is 20 now and teeth are starting to spread out slowly...and will have the space they need...pic attached of his smile..
