  1. BAGLE VIRUS HAS NEW VARIANTS The new variants of the Bagle virus discovered Thursday are transmitted through an e-mail message without an attachment. The variants are known as Bagle-P, Bagle-Q,, Bagle-R, Bagle-S and Bagle-T. One anti-virus company, Sophos Inc., has found that Bagle-R avoids sending itself to addresses that include the following words: @hotmail, @msn, @microsoft, rating@, f-secur, anyone@, bugs@, contract@, feste, gold-certs@, help@, info@, nobody@, noone@, kasp, admin, icrosoft, support, ntivi, unix, linux, listserv, certific, sopho, @foo, @iana, free-av, @messagelab, winzip, google, winrar, samples, abuse, panda, cafee, spam, @avp., noreply, local, root@, postmaster@ Here are some of the randomly-chosen subject lines the virus selects when mailing itself to other computers: E-mail account security warning. Notify about using the e-mail account. Warning about your e-mail account. Important notify about your e-mail account. Email account utilization warning. E-mail technical support warning. With "Little Red Plane", Joey Jones and Wira Winata have captured that simple beauty and used it as a background to a story full of heart. Little Red Plane has been so well received that it has led the crew who worked on it to start their own studio, Shadedbox Animations. http://www.shadedbox.com/ http://www.animwatch.com/ showcasing the best in independant animation SMiles

    Circumcision

In 1978 when my 1st. son was born (Canada)- circumcision was the norm- in 1983 when 2nd. son was born it was impossible to find a dr. who would perform it. The newborn baby is strapped down, spread-eagled, on a small board called a Circumstraint. The surgeon slices the foreskin lengthwise to peel it forcibly from the glans. (The foreskin doesn’t naturally separate from the head of the penis for several years; until then, it adheres to the skin underneath.) Then comes the clamp. One of the most common is the Gomco clamp, a demonic-looking device that fits tightly around a bell that is slipped under the foreskin and over the head of the baby’s penis. The clamp is tightened, crushing the foreskin, which is then removed with a scalpel. As a parent the thought of this made my decision not to have my sons circumcised easy. I feel circumcised men have been primally wounded, tortured and mutilated when too little to defend themselves, and the best part of their penis has been thrown into the trash can. The last inch or two–the part that’s routinely cut off-contains ten to twelve ridges that are replete with specialized nerve endings, called Meissner’s corpuscles, that may be compared with similar nerve endings in the fingertips and lips. Whereas the foreskin is loaded with nerves. Worse, the head becomes less sensitive the longer it is exposed to the elements postcircumcision, due to a callusing-type process called keratinization. The foreskin naturally slides over the ridge of the penis during sex, producing heavenly sensations for the man and reducing friction for the woman. 0% of routine infant circumcisions are indicated. When referring to a medical intervention, the term “indicated” applies to a treatment/intervention that is required because a particular condition is present. Infant circumcision is performed only on healthy infants who do not have a condition requiring circumcision, so there is no “indication” to perform a circumcision. Routine infant circumcision has been called “cosmetic,” “prophyllactic,” “elective,”or “social” “Hygiene of the uncircumcised child is so complicated.” Bullshit. In fact, as all paediatric organizations indicate, nothing could be further from the truth. It is indeed this single outdated myth (practically a superstition) — to the effect that the parent must forcibly “open” the child’s foreskin to cleanse it — that has been the source of the majority of foreskin problems (infections, inflammations, iatrogenic phimosis, paraphimosis) in boys in North America over the course of the twentieth century. The way to go about cleaning the baby’s penis (or that of the child whose glans-foreskin separation process has not yet begun) is to wash the outside of the penis, and not to seek to access and wash inner parts of the penis that cannot easily be seen. Over the course of months or years (depending upon the individual), the foreskin will separate from the glans, and the foreskin opening (the preputial ring) will become wider and more elastic, such that more and more of the glans and the inner lining of the foreskin (or the foreskin mucosa) will become visible upon gentle retraction of the foreskin within the skin’s limits of retractability at the time. In keeping with the safest guidelines, it suffices to rinse with warm (not hot) water the parts of the glans and inner foreskin that one can easily see during a very gentle retraction of the foreskin to its point of resistance. (Note that soap, as well as hot water, can sometimes irritate sensitive mucosal surfaces. If you apply soap to your child’s penis, make sure it is a very mild, that you don’t overuse it, and that you rinse it off well. Moreover, it is unadvised to use a washcloth on the glans and the inner mucosal lining of your child’s foreskin, as a washcloth can irritate the foreskin’s sensitive mucosal inner lining. Note, as well, that bubble-baths or long sessions in soapy or shampoo-filled water can unbalance the pH, causing irritation and inflammation. If your child is given a bubble-bath, consider rinsing with clear water after to remove irritating soap residue.) A very small percentage (1% to 2%) of boys 18 years of age remains with some degree of foreskin non-retractability. This is called phimosis, or even more properly, true phimosis. (Adult true phimosis must be distinguished from childhood physiologic phimosis, this latter representing a normal phase of development prior to the foreskin’s gradual, spontaneous separation from the glans. Besides having an exquisite sensitivity, the foreskin appears to play a major role in triggering orgasm. The muscles that produce an orgasm automatically contract when the foreskin is pulled back during penetration........an evolutionary purpose, to encourage the deep thrusting that fires sperm directly into the cervix, improving the chance of conception. I appreciate the added sense of revelation a foreskin can bring to sex, making a hard-on not only a sexual display but also a kind of unveiling, as the head of the penis is dramatically bared as it hardens. Penile cancer is truly a wretched disease, but it is also a rare one, with only 1,500 cases a year, and 200 to 300 deaths, in the United States, most of them in old men. SMiles the most important six inches in sex are the ones between your ears.

  6. Very informative article, glad I took the time to read. I choose to commit to less. Maybe as I was raised by a single mom- (our family was deprived materially-we never starved, and canned green peas were a delight) has something to do with that choice. The time did come to purchase a new car and driving it was so strange to me- "instant stress" I was continually thinking about how it portrayed me to be someone I was not. I was way more comfortable driving my rusted out oldsmobile. The home purchased after the children were raised is 23 yrs. old -built solid, new roof..well taken care of. The plan was to renovate, fix it up- increase the value. I also did not fit in to the "house is everything mode"....spent so much time seeing line ups at home depo- and taking good long looks at unhappy people running around with their hair turning grey trying unsucessfully to spend full time life on making their glass dream home. We have never had problems making our home feel like home- without spending money- (always rented...) Now after 2 years of living in my home I have still not spent a dime on renovating----except to paint. Spent many many hours on what I'd like to have renovated and visualizing how it would look...then comes all new appliances and furniture. Our home is comfortable the way it is- have years and years to prioritize. Comfort can be had without becoming material. Moved all my plants here and have spent time creating a beauty garden which brings me hours of therapeutic joy, actually my back yard brings more joy happiness than the house does. Looking back as a parent -sure glad that the t.v. was not the focal point in our living room ever. I was concerned about the effect excessive materialism can have on the development of my children's self image and values. I feel children are very sensitive to advertising as at its best-- is making people feel that without their product they are a loser. (effects of materialism) A healthy society raises children to be responsible citizens rather than just consumers. SMiles Creating healthy, happy families means spending time together rather than spending money.

  11. Hey- your ideas are creative, you should draw what you visualize......... I enjoyed the challenge to draw what you described but of course this is my interpretation....(didn't spend too much time on wings) but luv flight of birds. I feed my stellar jays peanuts every day and often watch them dive bomb- need to catch an image on my camera of that!! They are so cool, can duplicate sounds of other birds and love to play- real smart asses! I have a chair on my deck with work shirt hanging on the back of it. I stash the peanuts in the pocket so when I am wearing the shirt, they land on me to grab one. Mistakenly often call them blue jays... Keep working on your tattoo, would luv to see pic of it when it is done SMiles

  13. I agree- fear tatics -do not -and have never worked. As a parent with teenage sons- taking them down to our downtown eastside to walk the streets and show them how drug addicts live, may have been a "fear" tatic but keeping open comunication with them has helped the most. We can sit together and talk about drugs, just like talking about anything else. I never thought I'd see the day where I would have concern about the drugs on the streets and my children (as I grew up trying out what I thought was every drug there would ever be.) It isn't till I look back and remind myself how very fortunate I am to not have ended up on the streets addicted.... I was trying blue crystal speed when I tried heroin and didn't consider heroin to be "a rush" so never tried it again (didn't enjoy puking and nodding out) Used cocaine but never felt addicted- why continue to use more when I could never get that initial high again for weeks...Out of the "crowd" I hung with using drugs- 2 died from overdose- and thanks to them I "saw the light." I live in Vancouver B.C. Canada where lured affluent tourists by the hundreds of thousands came to Expo '86, The prospect of easy money brought a corresponding influx of the poor and hopeless, most of them gravitating to Downtown Eastside. Around the same time, competition among drug cartels flooded the district with cheap narcotics, encouraging a new generation of addicts to turn on, tune in and drop out. Surrounding districts passed new laws to purge their streets of prostitutes, driving the women out of Burnaby and North Vancouver, into Downtown Eastside. In 1994, federal cutbacks left welfare recipients short of cash, while mental hospitals disgorged patients onto the streets. By 1997, careless sex and shared needles had taken their toll, one-fourth of the neighborhood's residents testing HIV-positive. So far, government needle-exchange programs have failed to stem the plague, despite provision of some 2.8 million needles each year. The Downtown Eastside is infamous for its "kiddy stroll," featuring prostitutes as young as 11. Some of those work the streets, while others are secured by their pimps in special trick pads. New prospects arrive every day, runaways and adventure-seekers dubbed "twinkies" by those already trapped in The Life. A 1995 survey of Downtown Eastside's working girls revealed that 73 percent of them entered the sex trade as children and the same percent were unwed mothers, averaging three children each. Of those, 90 percent had lost children; fewer than half knew where their children were. Nearly three-quarters of the prostitutes were Aboriginals. More than 80 percent were born and raised outside Vancouver. In 1998 they averaged one death per day from drug overdoses, the highest rate in Canadian history. SMiles
  14. According to Kanienkeha tradition, our world was created when an inhabitant of the upper world, Aientski (meaning Fertile Earth), was pushed through a hole in the sky by her husband. As the skywoman scrambled to stop herself from falling, she clutched at the roots of corn, beans and squash, and fell with them in her grasp. She landed on a turtles back that was covered with mud from the waters. Every day Aientski walked around the edge of the turtle noticing the area of mud had grown and was getting bigger and soon plants of corn beans and squash began to grow......... ever since then these three vegetables have become known as the Three Sisters, providers of the people, (or sustainers on the d.z.) Anywho- traditional native planting reflect this union. The seeds of the corn, beans and squash are planted together in mounds 1' high and 20" wide in a sunny location. (We also added organic fertilizer and a bucket of compost to each mould.) Centre the mounds 4' apart and flatten the tops. In the centre of each mound plant 5 or 6 corn kernels (* we planted Sugar Dots) in a small circle. When the corn reaches a height of 5-6" plant 6 pole beans (* Blue Lake Pole) in a circle about 6" away from the corn. A week later plant 7-8 squash seeds(* Delicata) around the edge of the mounds about 1' from the beans. (we planted strawberries also around some of our moulds) A real space saver (intesive growing in a small space)The corn serves as a living trellis and supports the pole beans. In exchange, the beans, like all legumes, add nitrogen to the soil to feed the corn. The squash serves double duty. It acts as a living mulch covering the ground to hold in moisture, suppressing weeds and shading roots. It also discourages pests such as racoons that do not like the prickly spines that cover squash vines. SMiles
  15. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/digitaltv.html As of May 2003, more than 1,000 stations were on the air with DTV signals, and every major TV market was served by at least one DTV station. The target date set by Congress for the completion of the transition to DTV is December 31, 2006. However, that date may be extended until most homes (85%) in an area are able to watch the DTV programming. At that point, broadcasting on the analog channels will end and that spectrum will be put to other uses. Until the transition to DTV is completed, television stations are required to broadcast on both their digital and analog channels. SMiles
  16. 2006 may turn out to be a pretty interesting year. Consider- TV will become digital broadcasts in MPEG-2 format and we'll likely see the birth of Windows: The Next Generation. Will you need a new TV tuner card for your computers. Or will you need a card at all? HDTV is broadcast in 16:9 ratio. People who have lately bought $700 or $800 LCD monitors are NOT going to want to run right out and plunk down another $1000 for a wide-screen version of the same. Those of us with cruddy old CRT monitors that are due for replacement may be the only ones wearing smiles. Should one assemble the resources for HTDV-ready Media Center Edition PC?? Are images really THAT much better than those of traditional broadcasts? I've heard the difference in clarity is amazing (even on an LCD monitor). SMiles

    "sorry" habit

S-word A sorry habbit. 0h, sorry (bumping into a stranger in the store) Oops, sorry (to waitress after I knock over vase of flowers on restaurant table).. Questions are taken from the audience- the microphone is passed to me- I stand up and ask my question- "could you speak closer to the mike?", I reply "Sorry!" Pandora's box was nothing compared to what I opened up. It is as if I am apologizing for who I am. "I'm sorry!" ...obviously apologizing is an automatic inbred reaction similar to the fight-or-flight response. I say it without thinking, with little regard for its meaning or implications. When I say "sorry" what do others really hear? Is it that I don't feel free to express anger or frustration? Do we apologize because entitlement isn't part of our self-worth? Is it said to observe politeness, not because I really mean it? If I have not done anything to offend someone, I should not apologize. The person who apologizes too much is obsequious. Answering phone calls in a office environment I drove myself crazy answering calls with..."I'm sorry, Mr. X is not in the office"....wait a minute!....Mr. X is out making a million bucks for himself why should anyone be sorry? I am more aware of how often I say the S-word. I also take note of when others say it to me. Of course, when hurting or offending someone, it's the first thing I say- but not when I reach past a fellow Starbucks customer for the cinnamon shaker. The biggest lesson I've learned is that most times what I really mean to say is actually "excuse me" or even "@#!$ off!." SMiles
  22. Hey,...I can relate, left knee snapped my ACL in 2 pieces and will not be getting surgery. Have found after a year can get by beauty with 3 ligaments in my knee. I wear a good brace and subconsiously still favor my right leg/avoid landing on left and turning to the left....or running canopy off more than a few steps. Takes time under a canopy to get to know it well and trust it. My canopy is a dream to land (150 triathlon) ...and has made 100% improvement on my landings. SMiles
