I wonder if any one has actually been choked or if it is just a sky legend? ---> I dont know anyone who has choked on gum in the sky but I did it motocrossing, I always chewed gum while I raced, it kept me from getting dry mouth, I came out of a corner, hit a rut I didnt see while taking in a breath of air through my mouth and whala........it was lodged good, some air was getting passed it and I threw myself onto the crossbar with my stomache giving myself a himelich...... popped it right out. Without having anything to dislodge it in the air would make for a pretty unpleasant situation... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

Does your DZ have a drug testing policy for Staff members?
D22369 replied to WFFC's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
None yet, if the S&TA or owner thinks someone is using while jumping I personally dont see a problem with them asking the person (staff or otherwise) to submit to a drug test. Catching the fools who are not content with the high associated with skydiving and need to suppliment it with drugs/alcohol would suit me just fine. our sport suffers from predudice from outsiders enough without idiots dying or getting injured because of impaired judgement. BUUTT by the same token...What a person does on their non-jumping days or nights shouldnt be held against them for skydiving. Just my opinion bit more than you asked for. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it. -
Just for conversations sake how wet would a container need to get in order to warrant a Reserve Repack. ---> if your not sure, a repack would be a small expense for the peace of mind you would have. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

i don't drink alcohol, would that make me a bad skydiver? Not at all, but when the beer light is on, hanging around getting the war stories is part of the fun and you can actually learn a bit....... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

So what I want you all to do is give me your alltime favorite freefall background music --> 3 doors down...life of my own////////Creed... the common flu kills a fair amount of people every year, they are usually the elderly and infants so to my way of thinking, its not a great leap of faith to believe it is a natural mutation, course I am a great believer in conspiracy theorys.......hehehe, lets blame it on saddam!!!! And you ADMIT THIS?????........lol, I was so stoked to see this when it came out and then spent the whole movie wondering why..........poor acting across the board...... VERY COOOOOOL....... you know, for as much USPA bashing as I hear people do as I wander around the west coast, it always seems to be a "friend of a friend" who had trouble with them, nice to see someone who had a prompt response from them..... CONGRATS: Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

We have a couple of current CReW world record holders at my home DZ. Just ask anybody at Kapowsin about Vern Bates and Ken Smith there some of the best on the west coast. I look to start doing CReW with them in another 70 or so jumps ones good --- ones insane........... course.......that makes him hard to distinguish from the other............LOL why are you waiting another 70 jumps? both were jumping a stiletto. Is this considered Norm, or safe? Just curious. -->> It has an additional element of risk, dacron lines will cut and burn the hell out of you, the micro lines are worse and will part your skin like a cheese wire..... gorilla crew....IE....hard docks are a big no no, also off centre docks = bad juju. I was in Perris going for a 2 stack and reached back for the nose of the canopy cause she was within reach but not closing, as I grabbed the lines she apparently let the brakes go a bit and my hands slid up the lines.....thankfully I was wearing gloves.........three fingers on my right hand were cut mildly, one finger on my left was cut quite bad, this was from a one second slide....... the gloves were toast....... At what jump number did you start CRW?
D22369 replied to ladyskydiver's topic in Canopy Relative Work
Hey Scott As a side note WHAT IS A GOOD JUMP NUMBER/ EXPERIENCE LEVEL BEFORE REALLY ATTEMPTING TO DO CReW? SHEEEESH.....ask an easier question next time would ya.......there isnt one good answer...... It depends on who your learning from, you have a wealth of knowlege at Richland (when they show up) BJ, Ken, Putnam.............once a jumper can maintain a larger bubble of awareness (different for each person) and has good basic canopy skills they are good to go, try to avoid the gorilla crew, lines hurt!!!!!........ getting good coaching is the key.... or if you dont want to wait for them to drag their sorry butts to the dz, there are I believe several CRW camps coming up, course that costs money unless I am mistaken....... heheheh, course ...........ya could do crw with me.........all we would have to do is shorten your front risers.......oh.........bout 8" to make it dive enough........LOL see you at the DZ... More what would you do if? (#3)
D22369 replied to Hooknswoop's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
13. You witness a rigger pack a Seat bailout rig, but does not have a Seat rating, only a Back rating? Tell whoever's gonna be wearing that rig to wear it higher than he normally would 14. You land off, in a tree, 20 feet above the ground? Expect to stay up there a little longer because you're gonna be in the X'mas video LOLOLOLOL----->>>>LMFAO...........heheheh, true.....waaaaay too cool, thanks willie, I needed that laugh!!!!!! You know..........thats more true than you may imagine......my aunt came up to washington, stopped to get gas and sat there.........then sat there.....then started to angrily honk her horn..... the station attendant came out to find out what this old woman wanted and she proceded to give him a verbal lashing, at the end of it.......he pointed out the "self serve sign"...............HAHA.....she was from tillimook OR............and she had to apologise, and ask him to show her how to pump her gas, 65 yrs old........never done it .......hmmmm Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
