  1. Thanks to everyone that came out. 10 Beech 99 loads and 6 cessna loads. The weather cooperated nicely and we were able to get a turbine in, in spite of our KA being down!
  2. I was out teaching Ground School today. It rained most of the morning. We did get one hop and pop load off about 3pm. Ceiling was at about 4500'. Hey, at least I got to try my new canopy
  3. I agree, that would really be skill. I have a Hornet 190 loaded @ 1.1 and I can do chin ups on the fronts and it still dosen't do much. Guess that's why I going to a Stiletto@1.4
  4. Skydance Skydiving is probably the closest turbine dropzone to you. I'd go there if I were you. BTW: I teach at a competing DZ (Bay Area Skydiving) but we are probably another hour from you.
  5. Lots of things you can do. Depends on if you want it to be sucessful or not. Talk to your LO, I'm sure that he/she has a good idea of your ability and the available talent.
  6. Skydiving has higher recurring expenses, esp. if you like to do 500 jumps a year
  7. No idea, sounds like a hot section at least. Good thing is that we can probebly get a caravan from skydance until it's fixed.
  8. Dude, let me get this straight. You are involved in quite possibly the most expensive sport in the world and you are complaining about the price of a book that costs less than 2 jump tickets?
  9. I seem to be missing all the action. Not that I'd want to be there in either situation. I don't know CPR and I can't fix the airplane. Can you imagine me seeing the plane spewing flame? I would have put a hole in the door
  10. Damn, this must have been after I called.
  11. about 320, was trying for 365 I'm running about 400/yr now just jumping on the weekends.
  12. Just jump it. Don't forget to flare though.
  13. No beer for 50, don't let them con you into it! Next beer is at 100
  14. So when are you taking ground school?
  15. well there is Dennis, he was a door gunner, he aiways has ti be front float!
  16. BTW: You're THE MAN! And I LOVE your riser mod! Gotta get that on my new rig!
  17. I'd keep the coach requirement. This is the "gateway" to all other ratings now, so you'd probably get a better reception from the USPA with this requirement. It also insures that the CI has been evaluated for basic teaching skills. If you can't get a coach rating (which only requires a "C" license) you probably shouldn't be teaching.
  18. The increase in canopy collisions can also be attributed to the fact that people are flying much faster canopys these days. This reduces the amount of time to deal with traffic problems.
