  1. Getting back to the original post, I'm not convinced that most Christians accept evolution, though I know that a lot of them do. In my limited experience, if you ask individual christians if they accept evolution, the majority of them will say they do. The others will usually deflect the question and not answer. Very few will admit openly to a disbelief in evolution. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." 2. Cancer touches everyone. Great strides are being made everyday in the treatment/prevention of cancer. I'm sorry they didn't come quickly enough for her. 3. What about the Bombardier Beetle? http://www.wild-facts.com/tag/bombardier-beetle-facts/ It has evolved a complex defensive mechanism. What do you find relevant about it? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  4. No trolling on my part, Bill...honestly just a simple question. I'll knock it off and keep from asking as you wish. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  5. No bait? Sure there's not - shall I refer you to your two posts directly above where you allege that religious people can't/won't think? Then why do you keep doing it? And, again - the thread is about religious people and evolution. 1. You've already made the claim that religious people only think what religion tells them too. 2. You've said that you don't think I'm religious. Given 1 and 2 above, *WHY* do you then keep asking me if I "accept evolution", Steve? The thread is about "christians" accepting evolution...Not the "religious" as you assert. I made it clear that you need not feel compelled to answer. I asked you twice. You haven't answered, and I've stopped asking....How about this: Mike, I do not want to know where you stand on the issue of evolution, I do not want you to feel uncomfortable or skittish or threatened. No one will compell you to take a stand. You can relax. Feel better? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." 6. Thanks, for the post, Speedracer. I, like most christians, accept evolution. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  7. If you don't think I'm religious, why are you asking me if I 'accept evolution', Steve? Evolution has nothing to do with religion, Mike. It's science. Do you accept evolution? The thread is about religious people accepting evolution, Steve. If you don't think I'm religious, *why* are you asking me if I 'accept evolution'? I simply want to know where you stand on the issue. No bait, nothing to be afraid of...if you don't want to answer, that's fine. No need for all the tap-dancing. If you don't think it's my business where you stand on the issue, that's ok. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  8. True.. Ironic coming from such a religious person, though. And you still have no clue as to my religious leanings. Thanks for playing the mind-reading game. You are still thinking in terms of "what". You lose. You're right. My bad. Are you religious? Spiritual? Do you accept evolution? Nunya Babin throws a baited hook and expects somebody to bite. No bait, just wanting to see where you stand. If it's none of my business where you stand on the issue that's fine. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

  10. What about the part where I equated your posts to the annoyance of a culicidae or a mild case of crotch rot? Not so much, but I expect it from you. So, do you accept evolution? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  11. If you don't think I'm religious, why are you asking me if I 'accept evolution', Steve? Evolution has nothing to do with religion, Mike. It's science. Do you accept evolution? 12. I agree...what I post is of little consequence. Coreece, do you accept evolution? How about you, Mike? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  13. Thanks for proving my point....again. You're welcome. Enjoy your bliss. Yet *ANOTHER* unfounded assumption by you that I'm religious...why am I unsurprised? No such assumption was made. (about you being religious, anyway) "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

  15. It's ironic because Religion doesn't teach you how to think, only what to think. If it taught you how to think, religion would become extinct pretty quickly. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  16. True.. Ironic coming from such a religious person, though. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  17. Aren't you straddling one of those in your profile pic? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  18. As a bigger picture, not that different from catholic, christian, or muslim beliefs... Hmm.. I must have missed the bit where aliens were stuck in a volcano and killed using hydrogen bombs, and are now trying to take over our bodies in the Torah, Bible and Koran. You are right... Worshiping a 2000 year old magic Zombie King who wants you to drink his blood is far less silly than what scientology offers. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  19. Stupid, just like any other belief in the supernatural. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  20. Enjoy yourself, Coreece...Goodnight. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  21. Because you value your ignorance. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  22. http://genome.cshlp.org/content/9/7/629.full There you go, not that you'll actually read it or anything. Are you're an editor of some sort? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  23. ooh, ooh can I play? Can you give an example of a genetic mutation or an evolutionary process which can be seen to increase the information in the genome? http://genome.cshlp.org/content/9/7/629.full "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  24. I am starting to lean in that direction. My rationale being that only Liberal Secular Humanists will make choices reinforcing those beliefs. Therefore, the Liberals will be reduced by natural attrition. Conservative Christians will not follow those sinful paths and will therefore grow in strength. Evolution in a righteous direction. ...beacuse everybody knows that conservative christian girls never have unwanted pregnancies. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
  25. Congrats!!! "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
