    OK that clarifies it. Being originally a Northerner, I'm a believer in filing charges against violent non-friends. But yeah, I'd probably make an exception for a friend. That being said, he'd be an ex-friend. Zero tolerance for violence. When he sees all his friends peeling off, he might get himself some help. If he's a close friend, give him a "get help" ultimatum, explain that you're not going to see or speak to him for some time (say, 3 months ... whatever), and why, and then make it stick. Hopefully in the long run you'll be helping him. But you need to get a chronically abusive friend out of your life. Been there, got the t-shirt. Sounds like rational advice. Thank you. If he (or anyone else) omits a critical step, like looking above you when you pull, you better believe I'm going to speak up. No lovers spat. I thought I was getting my drunk friend to his room safely, and he attacked me. It's not my DZ....Not my call to ban him or not. That would be up to the DZO. I'm posting all this shit to make him think twice about threatening or attacking anyone in the future. I'm not resorting to violence to accomplish it. If the sober driver is dumb enough to take the drunk attacker home, I would just say "FUCK THEM BOTH". Are they friends or something? Maybe they just need to work all of this out between the two of them. Yes, they were friends. The attacker had threatened physical violence to at least 3 fellow jumpers, not just the "sober, designated driver, attackee", in the previous months. This is all hypothetical, of course.     Hypothetically- You have a person at the dropzone that has been threatening other jumpers the last few months, and finally acted on his threats by attacking a fellow jumper. The attack takes place off the dz(while the victim was driving the attacker's drunk ass home from the dz), and was unprovoked. What should be done?     For example, a DZ jumper/employee that has no other viable place to jump/work at, sees an incident that is covered up by the DZ or simply not reported, decides to post anonymously so that it is reported and things can be learned from it and the cover-up exposed, without fear of reprisal. I understand that, Billy, but I don't see it happening like the posts that are just trying to destroy a business or someone's reputation.     I'm not sure...That's why I asked for suggestions. Filling out a profile with a real name and DZ might be a start. If the person is an imposter, then others from that DZ might regognize it.     The above question is open to anyone.... In most legal systems, the accused has the right to face his accuser. It keeps people from falsely accusing someone without repercussion.     True. There are also small minded people who like to make accusations/cast dispersions from the sanctuary of anonymity. Their only intent is the grinding of a personal axe, not to promote safety or education. When these people post, many times survivors(and their lawyers) are mislead into believing rubbish, and becoming a tool for the anonymous person with the axe to grind.
