Fixed it for you... I don't require your help Steve. I'm beginning to think that you're beyond help. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Your day will come, Anne Frank!! Fixed it for you... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUpxmlZ2hyM "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Aren't you going to throw some scripture in with that for good measure? Sure, if you'd like. "God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6) Thanks, I needed that. How do you think your evangelizing is going? Any converts? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Do Lawyers and Engineers count? My wife also had 4 years beyond medical school for her internship and residency (for her specalty). She actually got paid a small amount for that but I think it works out to minimum wage for the hours spent (at least back in those days; before the work limits now in place most places). I know that's kind of a work/school experience but nevertheless... It's a monumental ass-kicker. I've never seen anything like it. I don't think PhD's have that kind of nightmare after their "schooling"...but I could be wrong. Then...you've got to get board certification consisting of 3 step written boards and an oral board exam. No small task. Then, you can go do the job somewhere and "get paid too much money for what you do." All that training...and they still can't tell myth from reality. Goes to show that some people you just can't be reached. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." Your statement that "the mind is a terrible thing" dovetails nicely with the studies I mentioned that show the more intelligent a person, the less likely it is that he'll be religious... Is this sentiment of yours a result of your counseling? (It would make sense to me that the less intellegent would be the ones seeking "christian" counseling.) ....and welcome back! (Here are those links in case you missed them again.) http://www.humanreligions.info/intelligence.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religiosity_and_intelligence Please.... continue your evangelistic work.

You might have a point if you could say that intelligent, educated people don't believe in God, but you can't...so you have to twist your unreliable information in order to render that illusion visible to the less intelligent, uneducated people while the intelligent, educated and honest people who are capable of critical thinking see through your intellectual dishonesty...oh, the vanity! I guess you missed this...If you find fault with it, show us where it's wrong. Remember... be specific!

Yup, you missed it. Again. Don't worry, though...I hear Chuteless will be posting a date soon for those that missed his last one. You might catch a lift with those guys. (lift...get it?) "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Point taken with regard to statistics. Not sure that has anything to do with the validity of what they believe, however. Ok...follow closely. The less educated people are more likely to be religious. The less intelligent people are more likely to be religious. (Hence, RonD's quote" The mind is a terrible thing") In your opinion, which group is more prone to false belief...the more intelligent/educated group, or the less intelligent/educated group? (just asking your opinion here...there is no "wrong" answer) "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." So what did you think of the links? Did you see yourself in there somewhere? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

My Wife and I are both college educated. She is an OB/GYN Physician. Every adult in our extended families are college educated, most (on her side) with at least a Masters level. Her Dad was a Radiologist. I have another brother-in-law who's a Family Practice Physician. Another who has a mechanical engineering undergraduate, a Law Degree, and is now President of Birmingham Theological Seminary. We are all Christians except for one brother-in-law Materials Engineer PhD type who is in fact an atheist. Just don't think your theory with regard to educational level holds up very well. 1. You're family does not make a significant statistical sample. (I thought you'd have known that...did you take Stastics in college?) 2. It's not my theory. It's been shown to be true in several studies.: http://www.humanreligions.info/intelligence.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religiosity_and_intelligence BTW, Not only is it that the more educated people are, the less religious they are, but also the more intelligent people are, the less likely they are to be religious. Seems like that "PHD Type" in your family isn't the anomaly...you are...Or is what you read in these links wrong? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

And hence you show your ignorance of the subject. You really have no idea what you're arguing against because you base your understanding of Christianity on what you see on the History Channel or the latest outlandish cult you see portrayed on the news. Worse yet, you're unwilling to learn. You're just "sure it's wrong" and we're all "nuts." The more educated people are, the less likely they are to be religious. As a "true believer" you'll have a long, uphill battle citing ignorance in any argument for religion that you make. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Letting his mind rot with willful ignorance and delusion. Think critically and for myself. No. Why? There is that old saying that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything... I think it's about time for me to heed that advice...I'm tired of being a dick just to one-up somebody. It may have been fun at times, but it's not healthy. I just need to get away from that mind set even if I'm in jest... I wish you all the best and apologize for offending people with anything other than the Gospel... Godspeed!

...or the boogie man will get you!! (like he did Anne Frank) Not talking about the boogie man here but "It is a terrible thing to fall onto the hands of the living God." As it stands right now, you will not br greeted as a friend when you die...because you are guilty of breaking the law....countless times, if you're like the rest of us. I know you don't believe it but it would be good to at least to be informed of what's to come and why. Hell is hot and it's forever. But, it's not too late. You don't know, however, how long you have. I have lost many friends unexpectedly. Even though the prospect of eternal punishment should frighten anyone, no one should turn to Jesus because they're afraid of hell. They should turn to Jesus because he has been so kind to save them from hell. Pathetic.....you've based your entire existence on someone elses mythologic delusions, groveling before an imagined god to save yourself from the hell you allowed them to create in your mind. As a human being, I'm ashamed of you. Nature gave you an amazing mind and you squander it like this... "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

So if you keep repeating this drivel enough times do you think it will actually come true? You have no more proof of your after life beliefs than anyone else. But hey if it gives you peace and a warm fuzzy feeling then go for it. Just don't be shoving your beliefs down my throat and tell me I have to live in culture governed by your goofy ideas. If Jesus is who He said He is, then the proof of God is self evident. If He is not, then what does it matter what anybody believes? ... +1 There are obviously hatefull, delusional extremists on both sides...and they're just as dangerous to. ( The "true believers" have the delusional end won hands down...by definition. Hateful? perhaps. Dangerous?... So are we talking "Crusades" dangerous "clinic bombing"dangerous, "drowning my kids because god told me to" dangerous, or "suicide bombing" dangerous? (I guess it dosen't matter...the true believers have all this shit locked up too.) Is it an atheist crime wave sweeping your world, organized by a dude with horns and a pitchfork?(Probably not... athiests don't believe in that mythical bullshit either.) "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Society suffers when governed by delusional people. Keep the religious bullshit out of school, government, and society at large, and we will all be better off for it. I'm not selling anything. Not using a Jedi mind trick either. The reality of it exists whether you believe it or not. You know you're guilty if you've got a conscience. Just wondering what your game plan is. Seriously. You are indeed selling a crock of shit with all the trimmings. I have a conscience. I recieved it through evolution, the teaching of my parents, and my experiences during my formative years. I know that when I was born that I was absolutely not guilty of anything. I know that when I die, I will return to nothingness. I came from nothing...it wasn't that bad.(paraphrasing Dr. Kevorkian). I'm completely OK with that. Your mythical god has nothing to do with reality. If it did, there would be objective evidence of it. I have no clue why you need some magic carrot/stick approach to live a good life. I have no idea why you believe in things that make absolutely no rational sense in order feel worthwhile. I don't need those things, and I resent it when your kind shoves it down the throats of those too weak minded to see through your bullshit. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

I can't say where she is right now. Neither can you. I'm not her judge. All I can hope for is that she put her faith in Jesus Christ before she died or else her sins are not forgiven. That's all one can hope for anyone. The Jews know the prophecy They understand the Passover. Many have understood and believed that the Passover points to fulfilment in Jesus Christ. The real question here, though, isn't Anne Frank. She's gone and her fate is sealed either way. The question is how are you going to atone for your sins? What are you going to do when you die and have to stand before God and give an account? It's coming. Probably not tomorrow but nevertheless. No sale. Fear only works if you're weak-minded enough to believe your drivel. I'm not. Is that all you've got? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

By who's standard? Mine. Was she good by your standards? (it's time for you to insert some bullshit about nobody being good enough...) I thought she was a very good person but what does that matter? We're not going to be judged by my standard of goodness or yours. You say she was a very good person, but the tenets of your religion say that she is being tormented in the fires of hell for all eternity, as she evidently didn't trust in JC. How do you reconcile this? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."
