i was wrong about the 30 days. it is 60 days without jumping that you need to do a supervised jump. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."

i just finished aff so i am in the position that this thread is focusing on. i jump at the farm. the 25 jump a license package is 1800 dollars and includes 4 coach jumps and all equipment rental/packing. as far as getting me to come back... i'm already hooked. no doubt i will be skydiving for as long as i can. money is a problem for me cause i am a 21 year old college student, but i am not letting that get in the way. i will find the money. everyone i have met at the farm is helpful. people ask me about how my jumps went and that makes me feel welcome. i camp there all weekend when i go so i have got to know the familiar faces around there, and i feel comfortable socializing with them. last time i was at the dz popsjumper and i did a fun jump cause he has an instructor rating so i can jump with him. i also feel comfortable asking questions and i do so almost non stop. during the day there are always a few jumpers sitting relaxing and talking somewhere. i am not shy so i talk to as many of these groups as i can. while doing this you meet people. i have had a lot of people offer to jump with me as soon as i get my a. with a little work from the folks at the dz and a little work on your part meeting new people, i dont see how someone couldnt feel welcome. i feel fortunate that i found a good dz to call home. Yeah me, I refuse to do facebook Anyways, nobody wants to see my damned face. i refused to join till about three or four months ago. it is actually pretty cool being able to stay in contact with people. on the other hand all those ass holes that post everytime they leave their house pisses me off! in order to stay current with an a license(can get it after 25 jumps), you only have to jump once every 30 days. if you go longer its not a big deal, you just have to get an instructor to jump with you on one jump to make sure you can still fly stable, but it can be a fun jump. as for the money part you got it right. "how much am i gonna have to give up to afford it." i recently did just that to save 1800 u.s dollars. i got 25 jumps for that with everything included(aff, packing, equipment rental, coach jumps, etc.) hooked at first jump seems common for a few of us. good luck and blue skies. you wont regret the money you spend to jump. the farm is amazing and the beer saturday night just ended the day perfect. 3:3 did three fun jumps on saturday practicing slowing my fall rate. got on the sunset load and it was amazing. it was the first time i jumped with no suit, so it was a little rough but worked out. had my first line twist but i was able to kick out. sunday did a "science experiment" fun jump with popsjumper. i worked on slowing down. then i did a coach jump and got to mark off some a card freefall maneuvers. then last load i did my first hop in pop. stable and pulled within 5 seconds. it was an awesome weekend! Umm.. I think you don't understand the game the numbers are not friday:saturday:sunday they are humps:jumps:beer also, now do a real H&P from 3000' from the cessna i talked to the dzo on sunday about doing some cessna jumps. anytime i am up there they are busy enough to use the otter, but he said we could take the cessna up anytime. hopefully i will get a jump or two in it next weekend.
