  1. See, I think that makes 'him' no better than 'them'. I used to have respect for the man, and I used to think he was in it for the right reasons. Now, I think he's in it to shamelessly self-promote himself (see televangelist). Total scripting, and fabrication are NOT documentaries. If you use a tactic like that, even ONCE, your credibility goes out the window. I don't really have any time for him, anymore. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  2. Well, I always knew he was a spin doctor. So I took his presentation with a grain of salt and looked for the deeper meaning. What this documentary showed was outright staged fabrication on occasion to make his 'point'. I definitely felt lied to, and disappointed. As soon as you totally fabricate something ALL your credibility is removed (to me - see views on the current administration
  3. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0961117/ Has anyone else seen this? I used to be a 'fan' of Bowling for Columbine, and Fahrenheit 911, and Micheal Moore in general - but after watching this I can only say I'm quite disappointed in MM's fabrications. I had always thought that he presented a factual, albeit very skewed, view - I'm not afraid to say that I was quite incorrect from what this shows. It's noteworthy that the documentary was produced by MM FANS, who ultimately become disillusioned with MM and his lies. It's a pity, the message he's trying to get across I believe in, but I absolutely do NOT believe that the end's justifies the means. Moreso I'm not convinced he actually believes the message himself.....overall, quite saddening. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  4. Holy crap. Your ego is absolutely staggering. So far, it's the only thing that's even remotely impressive about you. Sheesh. Performance Designs Factory Team
  5. The super-tight speedo shorts brigade will be banished to the end of the runway. Please make sure that yourself, and Chris, stay in the appropriately designated zones
  6. If you guys want to argue about the safety of this, lets keep it to PM's or a different thread
  7. Your scenario raises a few points which I haven't seen addressed yet (my apologies if they were, I just skimmed the thread). If you have one brake released, and one locked, you're going to be in a turning configuration. That leaves you with 2 options to level the canopy out: A single rear riser OR the opposite toggle to the pull the equivalent amount of tail down. Also, since you are having to slow your canopy down to cause it to fly straight and level, you're going to be flying significantly slower than usual which, in turn, will significantly RAISE your chance of stalling the canopy on rears when landing. If I had a brake line snap on opening, I'd probably land it on rears (not recommending others do). If I had a toggle hang up, like you described, I would cut it away since there are too many moving parts for the pilot to consider, and deal with, to land it safely, IMO. edit: FWIW your choices will be very heavily dependent on pilot skill, as well as wingloading and canopy size. 10. I've always been annoyed by the term 'african-american' - mostly because the majority of people claiming this 'label' have never even set foot in Africa and almost always certainly aren't citizens of it. A close friend of mine who I often talk politics, religion, and a host of other difficult issues (we don't see eye to eye on religion but respect each others view points) who's black, feels the same way. I am a South African citizen, and a US Citizen - technically African-American While I have Scottish and Irish ROOTS I don't run around calling myself a Irish-Scottsman The reality is that the majority of these people, claiming this label, are simply.....Americans. Period. Race and Country aren't the same. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  11. Look at Steel's prior posts. I think they'll give you a good insight into his character (online at least). Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  12. I thought I saw Jen's in the picture that was posted. Nice job buddy!
  13. Dan, Just post what you heard, I'm curious myself
  14. Their '16 year old' gymnasts don't seem to be 16 either Performance Designs Factory Team
  15. Yeah, I loved it too! Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. International section added. Performance Designs Factory Team
  17. I've jumped 19, 21, 23, 25 - of all of them, I only didn't like the 19's. The 23's and 25's are my favorite as I like to reach really high on my risers when using rears and the 21's and especially the 19's I end up with hands full of lines :) As far as flight characteristics go - I don't really notice a diff between 23's and 25's - although I'm sure there is a little. 18. No edits necessary, Ian. Thanks for the info, and I'll see you at Nationals
  19. If you can afford it, you should. I just don't like freestyle, and with 2 freestyle events I'd rather save the moola
  20. Just Nationals for me this year. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. True - but dacron is a better choice. At least, that's what you (and Joe at the time) were providing for lower control lines when I was jumping the lines you sell. I'll rephrase - The sabre2's (to my knowledge) are not available with HMA of any kind from the manufacturer. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  22. Good meeting you, and Simon. Glad you guys had a great time - see you both soon! Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  23. The sabre2's (to my knowledge) are not available with HMA of any kind. Also, having your brakes lined with thicker spectra won't prevent them from shrinking - it's a property of spectra line when exposed to head (friction). Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  24. This was an option Joe Bennett experimented with on my canopy when I was jumping one of his ultra thin line sets. I too was VERY happy with the dacron brake lines. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
