  1. LOL. No-one came to my rally though...well, except Stu. Frankly, it makes me feel rather awkward
  2. Sorry buddy - mine wasn't out all the way. Didn't want to crush your manhood in just one go Performance Designs Factory Team

  4. That's my baby, Chaos, she's a sweety and loves to chase me swooping. She's really good about letting me go by her before running full tilt
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fX40RsSLwF4 Even Borat's in it :) Performance Designs Factory Team
  6. Some fun from the weekend. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. Your wife tastes like Schnozzleberries See you in SA in a week bro! Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  8. I would STRONGLY advise AGAINST just yanking a control down. It's very easy to put yourself in linetwists regardless of the canopy size. It's a bad habit, and it's killed people who inadvertantly caused diving line twists too low to the ground. Smooth input will allow tension to remain on the lines and still allow the pilot to get the toggle down to their waist to get a fast turn. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. For those interested - Beezy is now memorialized on Skydive The Farm's new billboard on 278. Hans has the picture if you're interested. BSBD. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  10. I thought one of the Republican's ideals was accepting responsibility for one's own actions instead of trying to pin the blame on someone else. Guess that only applies when you're not trying desperately to pin something on the other political party? Really....she should be subject to the law, just like everyone else. You'll have no argument from me there. However, his aunts legal status has NOTHING to do with Obama. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  11. I like the idea of remembering/honoring them somehow. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  12. This belongs in gear and rigging, so I'm moving it there. Blues. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  13. Yep. Looks like it's going to be a lovely weekend :) SWEET Performance Designs Factory Team
  14. If I could edit your thoughts I'd have you voting for Obama But seriously, it's good to remember that DZ.com isn't a democracy and the only purpose of the moderators is to enforce HH's (and now the new owners) rules. Well, that and we get a secret decoder ring....apparently it fills in vowels automatically too Peace, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  15. If you on't have anything constuctive to add leave us alone. You're assuming I have something to get over. Judging from this thread, Chris, it appears from the outside that you do. Just let it go - it's really not worth the fight (IMO). Peace, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. Airtec have stated that this is only a problem with MULTIPLE revolutions starting above 1000 feet. There are also parameters for activation on how low you have to be with that speed. Caution is a great thing, I think it's awesome that you're even aware of this potention issue (some really good skydivers still dont take it seriously, or know about it) - but I don't believe it's an issue for the wing you're flying, the altitude you're initiating at, the loading you're at, and the amount of rotations. 17. Wow. A year already. I'll be in SA in a few weeks, and if it's possible for someone to take me to T's resting place (for a few minutes), I'd appreciate it. BSBD. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  18. Dave, Call PD and ask for their recommendation. I would think 500HMA would be suitable for you, but I'm not sure 300 would be a good choice (for longevity of the lines). Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  19. Nothing the lines just look a little weird because of the angle. Yep, the angle does make it look weird, but you are just seeing the cascade where the lower brake line attaches. Now, kudo's to JC for taking that awesome pic of JT! Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  20. An interesting note: A friend of mine did some stuff with a datalogger and gps - after much discussion with me about braked approach to double fronts (he, at the time was a full flight proponent). His experiments yieled a higher speed, consistently, over a full flight approach. In the full flight approach, while his max speed was close to that of the double front approach max speed, he was anywhere from 5-10mph slower on average The only caveat to this is that the pilot must allow enough time during the surge, and the double fronts, to allow for their speed to pass what it would have been in full flight BEFORE initiating their roll. In summary, over the course of 20 jumps (10 using braked to doubles, and 10 using full flight) we found we were able to hit 'max' speed more consistently using the double approach. There is a reason for that, but it's hard to explain in text. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. Well, since the inital entry phase is complete, I'm going take the 'sticky' away and make this a normal thread. When you guys get the blog going I'll make the link to that a sticky for a bit too so people can watch what's going on
  22. I'd like to remind posters to keep this constructive. To the OP, while your current choices may be overly aggressive, I would recommend demo'ing everything you can get your hands on (that's within your skill range). Everyone had different tastes, and preferences. Ultimately only YOU know what characteristics you do and don't like. Be careful, there's no rush. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  23. I stand corrected, there is no "the"
  24. *** What do they do if a heavy guy is obviously not carrying any lead but gets wet or drinks, so he becomes more heavy? You can´t kick him off the event! Light pilots can throw off some ballast to stay in the weightrestriction. Actually, that's EXACTLY what would have happened at this years event. The current rules would disqualify the pilot, regardless of circumstance, if they were a single ounce over weigh in weight at the beginning of the competition. The rule, as it stands, is totally and utterly ridiculous and should be a priority for fixing. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  25. I like this too. All the other sites I visit have it, and I find myself trying to do the same thing here Performance Designs Factory Team
