  1. Possibly. We'll never know. What we DO know though, is that Bush is a liar (and No, I'm not pro kerry - I think they're both morons). I don't want an apology. Just the WMD...after all that's why we went to war...funny how it suddenly became a mission to "Liberate Iraq". Doesn't matter who you vote for, you're going to get a piece of shit in office. 2. My wife flew into a tree last year and wrecked one of her cells. She got a new lineset and the cell for a VERY VERY reasonable price and PD was, as always, unbelievably professional. Their products are top notch (as are some competitors) but their service is, in my experience, unrivaled when it comes to canopy manufacturers. There's no reason not to go PD. They just have it all IMO. Blue skies Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  3. If you think Linux isn't going to come with security holes you're kidding yourself. In fact just recently a bunch of university computers were attacked (Linux) and the admins caught off guard. The hackers had control of some SERIOUS computing power (not talking Uncle Bob's desktop here). If Linux ever becomes as mainstream as windows you'll have the same issues. It's software, complex software, and there are always going to be holes - no matter which one you choose. Mainstream software will ALWAYS be the target. 4. Not good enough eh? I was busy swooping the piss outta skydive atlanta....getting ready for the comp in May. Definately. What class are you going to compete in...seeing as they don't have a "I should still be under a manta until I learn to land standing up class"? Jokes aside, I'm looking forward to it. I think it's gonna be a blast. When you and Chris coming up to our neck of the woods? Blue skies Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  13. HA!! Henceforth you shall be known as.....Quasimodo!! That's called getting your moneys worth dude
  14. Absolutely. Talk to the manufacturer about your planned canopy sizes and they'll help you chose the best one. I've only owned 2 containers my entire skydiving career and I've jumped everything from 170 to an 84 in them (not the same container of course). A general rule of thumb is that you can fit one size bigger (albeit with good packing ) and one size smaller than the intended size. So if you bought for a 150 you should be able to fit a 170, 150 or a 135. Hope this helps. Blue skies Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  15. Ya know that's a great way of putting it. I think I'm gonna stick that little sentence in my bag of one liners I think there are some fundamentals that can be learned here, but they are BETTER learned in person when taught by qualified people. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. What do the instructors at your dz feel? I know of people with similar stats who've done just fine under a 135. I also know of people who were lighter on bigger than 135 canopies who broke things. It's all about the pilot

    SWEET!!!

And of course Jon Pinyon geeking the CAM
  18. Really, when? Unless it's to avoid something it's probably one of the most inconsiderate things to do to other pilots on landing. A far better approach is to modify the altitudes of your flight pattern. Otherwise what you're describing sounds pretty good although you could still get better with accuracy (we all could). 19. My apologies, I read it as you saying it was only HP jumpers who screwed up. Blue skies Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  20. Yearly it's actually it's about 50/50 - a low turn doesn't necessarily mean the pilot was trying to do a HP landing. There are just as many people reacting to circumstances as there are low HP turns. It's also worth noting that of the 50% who died doing HP low turns, most of them had less than 1000 jumps. In fact, if memory serves, an overwhelming majority had less than 500 jumps. Of course you know it all though. Ian EDIT: Something else to remember is that NO-ONE and I mean NO-ONE isn't capable of making a mistake. You cannot do HP landings with no risk, no matter what anyone tells you. It can happen to any of us...it only takes once. Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. Just to be clear, Kele is referring to the jumper, not the DZO. I will mention the issue to the DZO - it's his business, and hence his decision to allow the jumper to continue or not on his current path. Performance Designs Factory Team
  22. Yeah - there's a thread on it where I (and others) posted thoughts in the swooping forum here Blue skies Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  23. I guess that's what I meant , just got the terminology incorrect. Blue skies Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  24. Not sure. Hopefully Kolla will jump in and be able to give some better info. Sorry Blue skies Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  25. Nope, I think it builds the awareness as well. The reason I advocate learning flat flying (basic stuff, no-one expects airspeed here) is that I believe that because things happen slower on a RW dive that awareness can be built in a safer environment. That's kinda what I'm getting at. Blue skies Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
