  1. it is entirely canopy specific. Velocities 2.1 (so Jay says), not sure on VX/XAOS 27's but Jim Slaton said the 27's like to be loaded higher. Ask him on his canopy piloting website. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  2. I ended up with the 90 cause it was more fun to fly and I wear 8 pounds of weight. Given the same choices again I'd go with the 96 and more weight for better distance and it was still a boatload of fun to fly. Edit: Jay works on keeping his wingloading at 2.1 just FYI. Since I dropped mine from 2.3 there's been a marked improvement in my distance. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  3. All depends what your goals are. For competition my advice (for a velo) is go as big as you can while it's still fun to fly. For me that was the 90/96 sizes. 84 was a blast and 103 was a dog (I felt). If you're going to want to have some fun and still be competative a 96 loaded a 2.1 is a nice canopy choice IMO. Also I don't think you'll find much difference in the arc of that canopy compared to the 97, just the speed. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  6. Yep, they're also getting on bigger and bigger canopies. Ian, Shannon and Jay from PD are all on Velocity 103's now, wearing weights. Blues Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. Hey Chris, Thanks for the update, but Deland again? That's 3 meets...how about Titusville or somewhere different? Final round in Lake Wales sounds like da bomb! Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  14. "I tell ya what I'd do man, 2 chicks at the same time. I'd think if I was a millionaire I could hook that up too cause chicks dig dudes with money." "Well not all chicks." "Well the kinda chicks that'd double up on a dude like me" Performance Designs Factory Team
  15. Thanks dude, I really wish I'd known (and believed) then what I do now. I think I'd be a much better pilot for it all. Now the real question is....Why don't I see your name on the Skydive Atlanta Halloween Freefly Boogie attendence list? Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. Never, ever, ever, feel like a "dork" for going slowly. I GUARENTEE it'll make you a better pilot than those who rush. Everyone has to stop and learn sometime. IMO the beginning is the best time so you don't spend the next 100(0)'s of jumps fixing bad habits. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  17. Having never met you it's hard to say, but I'd venture to guess that peoples beef with you is largely due to your ego/attitude that clearly gets displayed on this forum. That could, however, be contributed to text based discussions missing face to face emotion being misinterpreted but it's a possibility regardless. You're right, everyone screws up at some point (normally numerous times) and they'll get a talking to. If you find yourself getting a number of "talking to's" then maybe the problem is you and not everyone else. It's hard to say, I don't know you, but it appears a lot of people who do have tried talking to you with no avail. Regardless, it's apparent that you're going to do whatever you want. And quite honestly that's something I believe in as you do hop n pops all day and are most likely no danger to anyone but yourself. HOWEVER this does not give you the right to sit and bash competitors when you're not one yourself. Come do a few competitions, hit the gates and the scoring zones each time (you don't have to even place well, just show enough skill to score decently a few rounds) and people will have a lot more respect for your skills. Sitting on the sidelines saying how you "could to that" but haven't won't get you any points here. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  18. Bad example. 1) If you have to be at your home dropzone to be in a comfort zone you're in over your head, period. 2) If you're incapable of landing your canopy safely when things don't always go 100% as expected you're in over your head, period. The above applies to anyone, on any canopy. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  19. Been married for over 5 years. Knew her for 3 months when we tied the knot. Honestly, we both agree that it was the best thing that ever happened to us. Sure it isn't always rosey, but the goodtimes far, far, far outweigh the bad. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  22. If you have Scott and Heath guiding you, and you're listening to what they say and following their progression tactics, I believe you cannot go wrong. Sounds to me like you're on the right track. Good luck. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  24. I take it we can add your name to the list of confirmed? Tent thing is definately no problem. Might have to wait in line for a shower but there's plenty of camping space. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  25. I know a guy who jumps a Nitron with his wingsuit although if you wouldn't do it with a stiletto I'm not sure I'd do it with a Nitro(n). Something like the Sabre2 may be more suitable if you don't feel comfy using a more tapered wing for wingsuit jumps. Maybe an experienced wingsuit jumper can comment (I know Chuck's used his velo on many wingsuit jumps)? Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
