if you read the skydiving article about it the guy use a 1g lexar microdrive but as I Cajones says we should go for a flash card because there are no moving part I didn't check fior the price yet

I found a solution, it's really weird, there is what I tried. 1- premiere 6.0 and 6.5 (don't work) 2- try a pc-5 and a pc-101 (don't work) 3- make a firewire copy (don't work) 4- try Avid and finnaly that work so now why all the tape work in premiere exept 2 of them ( those 2 have been firewire from lots of tape to do a master) and why they work in Avid

For a degital camera....pretty expensive a canon D-60 is about 2100$ add it an other 500$ for a micro drive 1gig and a lense that is a bit expensive but it could be a bit expensive if you not working with that camera

Yep, is it the same as the x-game or his the unit for the helmet is smaller.... may be we should talk about that outside the forum I'm interested for that king of equipement

I don't think they made mini-dv without lanc..... maybe you talking about a micro mv camera what is the model of the camera you talking about

I'm able the capture sound and video, but for only two tapes it doesn't work... I don't know what is wrong for those two tapes

So now what you can sugest me, to import those videos, I must be able to do that it's 2 DV tape I have and the are master tapes no other copy.... the weird thing is I can listen the sound on the PC-5 or if I plug the camera directly to the TV but not able to make it capture in premiere thks for any help El Cheapo Grande Rodriguez

If you have a camera at that price maybe you should think about a real camera helmet

I tried in the past an AFGA slide scanner, but I didn't liked the quality, may be this one is better

you are a really good detective, yep I'm el Cheapo Grande, should I know you.... for myself I don't know who you are so give me some clue.. And for the paint I payed an extra cash to get custom color and I don't like the yellow the use, so it should be repaint this winter El Cheapo Grande

I have a problem that is related to only 2 tape. I cannot import the sound but the video import OK when I capture with firewire. Look weird because I can play it from my PC-5 and it's I have the sound , samething if I plug my PC-5 to the TV everithing play OK...... only when I capture with premiere 6.5 I have only the video ...no sound at all can someone can help me with this issue thks

I owned 2 camera helmet a N-Vertigo X and now I use a optik and I really prefert the Optik, I tried also the Hawkeye. I very like the optik because you can entierely remove the padding so it help a lot when you work with and you drill some holee for the wirering, the side mounth have also i little angle to the center that make the paralax easier to adjust, the top month I use aluminium sheet that I bent as I want but their is the Z-Bracket from Bonehead this is a carbone fiber bracket made for a still camera. the chin cup work very well, I cut what exceed and I round up the end for better fit. For what other people say about the paint it's true but I prefert a good working helmet then a piece the show in a museum. if you have specifique question don't be shy

For myslf I tryed this only once and will be the only once.....I prefert to work on premiere it's a bit more effecient....lol It's a good soft for weekend video person or for my mom, try better software you will see the difference on the result and on what you can do

Can can watch your movie on premiere then file > export timeline > frame... or CTRL+SHIFT+M and it your good to save a BMP that can be use somewhere else

I personnaly use premiere 6.5 with a firewire i/o card ..... it work really nice with a mini-DV -

I cut mine about 2 inches on both and round up the end....everything find. I never remove completly the chin cup just loose it up.
