except that all the canon 70(75,90)-300's suck. They are made very cheaply and use a slower autofocus (micromotor). I was even dissapointed with the 75-300 IS. If you want to get a GOOD inexpensive lens, get the 100-300. The glass is a little sharper plus the 100-300 uses ring USM which makes it super quick autofocus. I got mine for $150 on ebay. Along those lines, there's also the 28-105 which is in the same class. Mine cost $125. If you do look at one, make sure you look at the f3.5 and not the inferior f4 Some good reading on Canon lenses can be found here I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. they're both good canopies and are comparable to each other. Both tend to open softly. The spectre (IMO) has a longer glide whereas the Omega has a steeper glide path. Omega's are still made. Omni's are for more advanced canopy pilots IIRC. One thing to note, if you buy a used Omega, up until a few years ago, they were measured differently than PD canopies and are about 8% smaller than a similarly sized PD. I got one for Xmas but haven't tried it yet due to it being cold. You have to keep it 68-70 degrees while it's fermenting and I'm going to be doing this down in the basement . Another thing is that the beer mix that comes with it will make a very light draft, I'm thinking like a BUD or something. Being the snob, I may try to add a can Oregon blueberries as per one of the recipies to make my first batch a bit stronger I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. There was something in the paper yesterday about how the phone companies will charge another 30-50 cents per minute if you are reaching an international cell phone.
