  1. you can half see the problem - but won't grasp the solution. remember that money is only a temporary 'bodge' until the market can barter efficiently without it. you have to see where money is evolving next - not pine after a useless gold standard (or any other standard). the peak of the banking money wave is not here yet - china is halfway gobbled up so not too long now
  2. what word do you use? Not gonna bite on that one... Still waiting for you to tell us why so many blacks don't graduate. i thought the answer was obvious - the us of a is a deeply racist country
  3. http://www.investmentmarkets.co.uk/20071001-987.html and, at the same time... Unemployment in the United Kingdom economy has declined over the second quarter of this year, according to official figures released today. Unemployment figures, measured in terms of claimants of state unemployment benefit, have shown a consistent downward trend of late, reflecting increasing job opportunities for those previously reliant on government hand outs. The figures, released by the Office for National Statistics, highlighted a fall over 45,000 in unemployment figures for the period ended June, taking the overall unemployment figure to 1.65 million. Whilst the number of unemployed workers was down, average salaries increased by just 3.3% over the period, highlighting the lack of inflationary pressures within the economy from another angle. The low wage inflation of the second quarter sets a record slow growth since 2003, highlighting yet again the impact of successive interest rate rises on the buoyant UK economy. Analysts have predicted that today’s figures could be used as further reassurance of maintaining interest rates at 5.75% for another month. With inflation apparently under wraps, analysts have gone from predicting a certain rise in rates to seeing any move as highly unlikely. Redundancy has also fallen to the lowest level since 1995, showing just 4.8 per thousand employees losing their jobs over the second quarter of the year.*** http://www.investmentmarkets.co.uk/20070815-621.html stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding

  7. didn't happen in the uk - despite the business community spreading such simplistic fears
  8. but no increase in inflation or unemployment
  9. ....The Minimum Wage: Washingtons Perennial Myth by Matthew B. Kibbe Thanks to the political clout of organized labor... no bias there
  10. so your sources say that the minimum wage is both inflationary and causes unemployment - which is odd because that is what the business community said would happen in the uk when a minimum wage was first proposed. but neither happened. you won't get inflation or unemployment if the minimum wage is set too low to begin with and is merely adjusted to a 'stabilising' level, which is what i propose

  12. look at high school graduation rates as a starting point, then rates of criminal convictions. You'll find a marked difference unemployment for black men versus women and these two factors are a large part of why, rather than a vague assertion of racism. unless you're saying black men are less intelligent, or more criminal, than whites then racism is the answer here
  13. that's strange because the article is about black unemployment - not welfare
  14. yes it will. it was explained to you in detail in another thread. you mean you gave your opinion - but no evidence I'd call you ignorant, but we've tried to educate you. You're just stubborn. still no evidence - just your opinion

  17. so a few people have most of the money. You don't reference any downsides, yet feel they're getting off lightly. I can only take that to mean that the government should take their money and give it to the poor. Redistribution of wealth? is that your game? the rich can pay the national deficit - they caused it

  19. Hi Bill, the *funny* jokes about ovens were made by Dreamdancer. Not first time. I just replied to rushmc as he was last poster and I was not that sure if he knew what DD was really meaning. Just to correct a misunderstanding. he knew
  20. Sucks to be poor/homeless/unemployed/disabled. On the whole I wouldn't trade places with them. Is 40% of the population poor, homeless, unemployed, or disabled? where are all these people hiding? you'll find a lot of them in the prison for profit system
  21. what we need is for someone to come up with some sort of 'solution' to the problem of all these undesirables (i'll order the ovens) stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding
