I'm the one who loaned the canopy (look in Talkback) and after the incident I really felt responsible. I would have never suspect that as I saw this guy jumping at the DZ when I was just off student status. The guy told me later than now every thing make sense, because he was always wondering why people were shaking their pilot chute all the time while packing. -- Renaud SMA #9 "Mind is like parachute. Here is my story, there is for sure a lesson to learn.... I'm selling my Sabre 170 and somebody want to test jump it. After two jump with it, the dude explain me that he really do not like my canopy. He didn't tell me why and I have to go on the next load. The next thing I know is that he ask somebody to show him the way to pack a Sabre because he do not like the opening, they are too slow! The guy pack the canopy... uncolapse the pilot chute and the dude stop him and ask: "What did you just do to the pilot chute?" Okay I stop here you get the picture! He jumped 2 times without uncolapsing the damn pilot chute!!! Later he comes to me and tell me that now it open better and it doesn't take a 1000ft to get line stretch! I was shocked This dude is damn lucky that the canopy open and I'm glad he pulled both times at 4500ft !!! -- Renaud SMA #9 "Mind is like parachute. It only functions when it's open."
