I was reading some old newspaper article and it stated that the placard was found 'six flying minutes' from the suspected jump site near a Weyerhauser Co. logging road nrth of Arial and the FBI withheld the find for a few months. The article also stated the FBI searched the area twice. I always wondered if Coop chucked the Placard to throw the feds off his scent when it was found. Just wondering if anyone had any opinions. Sorry if this subject has come up in the past, just rtrying to get some meaningful conversation back to the forum

One aspect of Marla's story really confuses me...The Money. Didn't she say it was lost during the jump? Yet in an early news article She says that she also remembers overhearing a discussion about the money that day between her uncles, with one of them saying "Our money problems are over." Marla Cooper tells ABC News, "I remember dancing around saying 'We're rich! We're rich!'" What was her story at the Symposium?

Most likely a hoax? But pretty bizarre nonetheless http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWzgoVQLG7k

Snow and 377 vs Jerry and Georger...Orange can be the official and Bruce can do the reporting. Jo will claim a coverup no matter who wins! Game On!

Well, If there were remains from the Briefcase that in my puny mind implies that there may have been a better chance for survival. I do not think he would have tried to hold onto the Briefcase during the jump. He may have tossed the Briefcase before the jump? The 3 wads of bills were maybe thrown into it as a ruse, or perhaps it was the bundles he tried to tip Tina with. Great stuff Bruce!

Also, would the heavy rain make for a faster decent with an open canopy given the extra weight from the water?
-
How long would it take to free fall 10,000 feet? If the chute did not open would someone lose consciousness during the fall?

Duane Weber once went to the Virgin Islands. They are now called The Islands. LOL. Snow, You ARE the man with the plan!

Cook Appeared on Coast to Coast again on November 28th. I guess he even had some audio of his suspect. I can not get the feed to work while I am at work, but I thought I would share if anyone else is interested. Maybe someone could give a synopsis of any new developments in his case. QuoteSo has any of the Christiansen as Cooper camp explained the Tena Bar money in a manner which fits their story? If I was escaping suspicion and turning my hot 20s into negotiable rare stamps etc., I would just keep right on doing what I was doing and sure wouldn't stir the pot by planting some rotted Cooper currency. 377[/reply I have often thought DB just chucked a few bundles out of the plane. Possibly the ones he was going to tip Tina with. The only part of my idea that makes it seem impossible is the fact that the bundles would never drop together all the way to the ground. I am with you 377 on the point that the more publicity the better. Keep the story in the news. DB may get sick and tired of all of the mis-information and try and set the record straight. Kind of like what BTK did when he resurfaced 30 years after his killing spree.

The whole Mayfield / Ralph connection warrants more investigation. It is almost as if they were involved in some kind of coverup. Maybe not the cooper caper, but they sure do have some sort of history.

Jerry, You can call me whatever you want...just don't call me late to dinner! Snow, the 36 square miles sounds good to me. Jerry, is that about right in your estimation? I know you are real methodical when you search, so that would possibly make the search area a bit smaller.

In June of 2000, the family of a woman named Elsie Rodgers, who had told her family that she discovered the skull of Dan Cooper near the Columbia River while on vacation in the early 80s, came forward with the skull when they found it wrapped it a box with another bone after her death in May. The FBI used DNA evidence originally gathered from the plane (they refused to say what it was but a guess would be material on the discarded cigarettes) to compare with the bones but their scientists were unable to prove it was the skull of the skyjacker. I do not recall anyone ever discussing Elsie Rodgers...Jerry, have you had a chance to speak with her family? I wonder if the skull was ever ID'ed?

Bruce, there is a browse button under your text area of the message you type. Click on that browse button and locate the photo on your computer. Once you locate it click the Upload attachment button and send your message! I hope this helps.

Hey Jerry, How much ground have you covered over the years? I mean, there is just so much terrain to cover it seems like an impossible task to search it all. Are the Cascades in any part of the proposed drop area? It seems like it would be near impossible to cover some of that ground.

377 - Regarding your views on a missing person. The more I contemplate the situation the more I think Cooper may have been from Canada. Possibly from the Quebec area. That would also tie into the Comic book theory, because it was printed in French. I wonder if the FBI ever went looking outside the USA. I have been trying to get a list of missing persons from that time in the Quebec area, but so far have come up empty. I totally agree with you on the idea that he was not a loner. He was probably a pretty successful guy. Anyone ever wonder what happened to the briefcase? If he did water land and had the briefcase that thing would float would it not? Welcome Back Orange :-)

Good point about Tom. The thing I find most facinating is that Tom is doing all of his research as a volunteer. If I had given a lot of free time to a cause I would certainly want my opinions to shine through a bit better than they did on the Nat Geo program. Maybe he just got caught up in the hoopla of the production. Maybe Carr brainwashed him.

If Jo had any real smoking gun she would release it immediately. She clings to the hope that someday she will have that crucial piece of information to tie Duane to the case. I give her credit, she never gives up looking for angles that will help her reach her goal. Check this guy out, Went missing in 1971...too bad he is too short to be Cooper. Has the same type of face and age appropriate... http://www.marylandmissing.com/images/Ellis.pdf Orange, where did you go??

I just picked up a copy of the DB Cooper card in the 2009 Allen and Ginter Baseball set. Image Attached.

But, you show your character with ever venomous, vile, psychotic, hateful and schizophrenic post you make. WOW...Sluggo has his Undies in a bundle! I enjoy the contributions snow makes, and when he sees BS he calls it out.
