    If you loved hot weather back east, then I retract my previous statement. I wanted to die with the heat and humidity in Florida this April, and NY in August is hell too.....     I can't comment on that yet. I've asked the service center about the cost of service and how much it would go up with the changing of the power units, but have not recived an answer. If I guess an additional $95 for batteries at the 4 and 8 year mark that makes the cost of ownership $1876.45 or $156.37 per year, still less than the $169.17 per year for the CYPRES 1. It's all good as long as someone is still building good looking rigs to put tham in though! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    I fly 27 Xaos canopies at 2.25 and 2.39 and the performance of the larger one (93sq) is better. IMO the performance drops off as you fly over 2.2ish. Recently put a few jumps on the same type of canopy loaded at 2.9ish, and the performance was way down, all that was left was raw airspeed. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     You could do no worse than I did for myself this weekend. It was hot, I was tired, I was talking to a new jumper while packing, something felt wrong, but I finished anyway. Next skydive on that rig, spaceball jump, a long spot, flair out early, pitch quick, think to myself "Hmmm, that was a quick opening, my canopy never does that." Didn't hurt or anything was just quicker than normal. "Oh, well" Reached up to collapse my slider, .......It was already killed from the last jump! Laughed at myself all the way to the ground. I love my canopy... You're a mean woman.... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    Still trying to figgure that out, but I think you are right. Here is my thinking.... CYPRES 1 Retail Price (aprox)$1195 + 5sets of Batts at $95ea + 4&8year service at $180 = $2030USD CYPRES 2 Retail price (at 111%of CYPRES 1)=$1326.45 + 4&8year service (if it stays the same) at $180 = $1686.45 It depend on the cost of the 4 & 8 year service checks. Oh, and IMO as for buying a competitors AAD, there isn't one on the market that has the track record, reliability, or service and support, that the AirTec units do. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     Of course both are going to put a mark up on them. That is why they are in business. However the while the manufacturing cost may be low(er) the product development costs, advertising, promotions, and most expensive of all, liablity insurance are probably huge costs that need to be covered. Dealers are NOT making a living off just CYPRES profits, thats for sure. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
