  1. Cute. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  2. Bravo! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  3. Who me? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  4. From my experience a Mircro Raven 150-M loaded at 1.3 lands just fine. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  5. I disagree, it works well enough. If you're in the door measuring the angle with a protractor then maybe you're taking too long, but with the smaller groups, higher speeds, and reduced awarness younger freeflyers (or jumpers perieod) I'd rather they err on the side of saftey. Teaching people to climb out after 5 seconds is just plain asking for an accident, and teaching awareness about all factors (exit speed, winds aloft, multi directional/speed winds, groundspeed, group size, group type, ect.) takes time. If I can start someone on the road of saftey by telling the 20 jump wonder who may count really fast cause he's excited that's exiting behind me that I've never met before, to wait at least a count of 6 AND look for our group to be out at about a 45 degree angle, that's what I'm gonna do. What do you suggest? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  6. If we are talking about the same thing, it's no longer made. I think you're talking about the NARO container, with the Tempo reserve, and maybe the Heatwave Main? The whole package was pretty cheap, and while I jumped a Heatwave 120 back to back with my Stiletto 120 (very comparable) I didn't like the looks of the NARO. Construction was good, but was not a very modern engineered rig. IIRC the NARO still used Velcro riser covers. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. 7. And why not keep that in your bag of trick to help people understand why seperation is important? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  8. A rigger should be able to help you install a slider keeper on your rig. The one I use is stitched to the yokes of my rigs. It's a 4" piece of 2" wide Pile Velcro, and a 4" piece of 1" Hook Velcro. Sew each peice on to a 10" piece of type 3 tape one on either end and then attach the 2" wide end to the rig. Works great. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  9. And supports my local launrymat. Sorry, no pics. Really! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  10. The Cypres 1 retail price was $1195 as set by AirTec. The Cypres 2 (expert 1 pin) was stated as suposed to be 11% higher in price than the original unit. $1195 x 111% =$1326.45 So $1225 (Square1 price) is already discounted, and considering the dive the dollar vs. the euro has taken, I'm not seeing it getting too much lower. see this thread for some good information as well. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. 11. And if you think THAT is urban legand, I'll be exiting AFTER you, thanks. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  12. You've got a team room? I miss mine. HEY! How YOU doin'?! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  13. As you stated the friction of the lines and the bigger bites on the stoes, are not that much of a factor. I don't think Dacron slowes openings as much as it "cushions" them. Dacron streches alot compared to Spectra, or other microlines, and absorbs some of the opening shock. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. 14. HEY! I still want to know if I get a present too for being the OJP? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  15. Most outside pockets are crap. I carry all valuables in inside pockets, plus my leg pockets have snaps on the zipper, a feature found on Flitesuits, and Bomber Freefly gear! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  16. All I've got to say about the pixie pic is.... HEEELLLLOOOOOOOO NURSE!!!! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  17. Cool helmet. Nice shirt you're wearing in the pics too. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  18. So if you could what Icons would you like to see? I'll start with 2 Throwing Up Dude... for those gross threads. Kicking the Dead Horse.... for ome of the threads in the topical forums! Anyone? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  19. The trade in deal came out when AirTec imposed 12 year life limits on Cypres 1 units. IIRC is a $60 credit, and AFAIK it applies towards the purchace of a Cypres 2 unit as well. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  20. Excuse me while I call the DMV. Hey did you know that birth certificates are not writen in pencil? How the heck am I going to change this? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  21. I did not! I call them Space Balls for Canopies or, Pylons, or, Docking Targets, or, if they hang in brakes right over the top, Bitchasses! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  22. Anytime Mike, it's a pleasure to jump with someone who has such a passion for the sport. Nice to see someone smile in freefall. Thanks for the tips as well, as soon as I fix my editing puter I'll see what came out on the 10D..... See ya'soon ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  23. I can't speak for your experiences with the man, but I have found Helmut to be a very nice and accomadating man. People have some trouble overcoming the language barrier, but from personal experience, patience, and repition does just that. Yes, and so have some of my customers. They perform this service at no charge. Betcha Cessna, Lycoming, or any other aircraft parts manufacturer wouldn't. What's your point? Never had this problem. Have you? I have the correct cypres units in my rigs. Has this happened to you? Are you suggesting that this occurs frequently? If so when? And why would anyone keep using a rigger that does not pay attention to detail. Check your own shit. It's only your life you're dealing with. I hope you are trying to educate, but I fear you too are just stiring the pot to get attention. IMO AirTec (and SSK) is a reputable company with the welfare of skydivers world wide in mind. What's your angle? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  24. So you don't want the responsiblity, or you feel no one listens anyway? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  25. 2200 or so.... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
