  1. Thanks. Now I want to know the DOM of the canopy. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  2. Someone rang? I too do not recommend it, nor do I alow those I'm coaching for first time jumps use one. I made my first 30 or so on a convertible system, that alowed me to switch the rig from pull-out to throw out in about 2 minutes without repacking. Then that got to be a pain. It works well for me, no hesitation, line twists, or malfunctions. But seeing that those more experienced than myself (Jari) have deemed it a bad idea, thats my recomendation as well (I think he's jumped one as well). High performance crossbraced canopies are not recomended either. Hmmm.... Edit: Oh yeah, Bungees = Black Death, IMO. For any type of Skydiving. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  3. Huh? I fail to see how an altimeter and acanopy = a hook turn. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  4. Flite Suit. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  5. Fleetwood Acetaminophen Ummm, yeah. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  6. Actualy none. The person must be under the supervision of an apropriately rated rigger, or manufacturer! That's right, techicaly a manufacturer does not even need to have a rigging ticket. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  7. Interesting. Would you say your experience is based on a specific type of canopy? I.E. Base canopies? In jumping several sport canopys with the brakes unstowed, I find the openings are MUCH slower. I.E. 2000 ft opening from a Heatwave 120. The Eclipse/Icarus Tandem canopies have no brake stows to promote softer slower openings. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  8. In what way? Other than the control lines getting fuzzy if you're using velco there is very little change in a vectran set. Vectran Turns from it's gold color to a dark dirty color after about 50 jumps and then doen't change again. Bad stuff. I know at least one person who goes by "Titaniumlegs" on DZ.com that has found this out the hard way. Who? How? When? Where? I have STILL not heard of this happening on a properly lined HMA canopy. Why not? Show some proof that they break without notice. People in this industry resist change even when good, just because they didn't think of it first. Let's see, doesn't go out of trim. Bonus. Doesn't show wear? You havn't worked with it very much have you? It does show wear, and shows it well too. Just has a very long life compared to what is accepted in the industry. We don't use Dacron anymore, and Spectra is accepted. Guess what? Technology improves, Spectra has limitations, problems. I think HMA is a great answer. It's a proven material, with know properties, and it out performs what it has replaced. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  9. I ain't 57. Duece! Whassup main? I'm not flushin' for ya' ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

  11. Yep, plain old stainless steel, stamped and polished. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  12. And the XL flys more loads per tach hour, and carries more jumpers than the 208, so the profit is there after the initial purchace price. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  13. RUNS HOUSE!!!! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  14. I think she hit the nail right on the head actualy. I'd venture a guess that she (as I do) thinks that imposed life limits are wack, and if instituted buy an industry driven body may have less to do with saftey, and more to do with built in obselesense. A Rigger should be the final determining factor in the airworthyness of a pice of gear. A loft I worked for had a limit of 30 years. After that they refused to pack it no matter what shape it was in. Limited their liability. I agree with this, but still think it should be an individual/loft decision, not a rule handed down by the industry. We need no more in the way of regulation, especialy if it goes as far as FAA regulation. The FAA doesn't really understand our gear. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  15. The advantage there is that your e-mail group is private. A DZ.com forum would be public unles HH wants to start having a Raiting qualification to access it. That would not be a good thing in my opinion. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  16. I noticed you have Delarva as your home DZ. Go talk with Martin Evans. He's a VERY experienced camera flyer, who can point you in the right direction. Top mount helmets that I'd recomend are the Optik, Bat Rak, and Flat Top Pro by Bonehead. The Hawkeye is ok too, but I know of several people that have fit issues with them. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  17. Mindwarp out of those two. Seen the Gunner yet? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  18. Take a deep breath and settle down. You don't have to fight RWS's battle for them. Maybe this guy is just badley misinformed. Help him understand what is going on. Your post was kinda like a ton of bricks. Just a thought. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  19. Heck, I'm not sure. I only check out FF, RW, and CRW about once a week. I just notice that threads are always being moved or start in one forum, but then the topic changes to be more apropriate in another forum. I think the meat of the forums, and the type of posts you're talking about is fine in G&R, Incidents, General, or S&T. But what do I know anyway. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  20. From where? On what dates? Seems High. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  21. Can I get in on this? Havn't been "stalked" yet on DZ.com. I'll buy beer. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  22. Naw, I thinkg things are getting a little too thined out already. Too many cubicles. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  23. Why does that sound like something for Americas Funniest Home Videos? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  24. Dust devils can happen anywhere anytime. I have not witnessed a large amount in Eloy in December though. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  25. I've been head down in my ClassicII and my S3. It's hard to do, as your speed increases you need to close the wings up, as they have a tendency to REALLY drive your body around the sky. Left 6-8 seconds after the last person on a tracking dive, HD to the fomation, hit about 165mph, flared out and zoomed past the leader about 40 feet up, with 50 mph or better closing speed, and still did less than a 60 mph average for the jump acording to my ProTrack!, What fun. *Don't try this at home! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
