  1. You don't know me so well. I have jumped a complete non TSO'd base system from an aircraft in the US legally (no gray areas either) and I think if you put your mind to it, you could figure out a way to do it as well. If you're really looking to further the research in parachute equipment, then kudo's to you, but I see no advantage to be gained from jumping your systems from an airplane, vs. an object if you're not going to be taking advantage of a reserve. Now if you're just looking for the gung ho feeing of giving the finger to the "man" (FAA), I can identify with the sentiment, but I can't support it.
  2. Used to. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  3. I was hear before that, and I'm pretty sure it was you. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  4. Or trying a Mr. Bill out of a higher speed tailgate ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  5. I've got near 500 hours and 500 jumps on a Bomber Freefly suit from FliteSuit. I had reinforced knees and a full length zipper cover added, and it's got plenty of life left in it. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  6. How many jumps on the canopy? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  7. Sounds a lot like the NZ Aerosports built "Matrix" CRW canopy. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  8. See, I think it does lead to the point. The point is It's a bad idea, since we eventually are governed by public perception of us, and what we do. I do agree with you that the text may be a slight bit gray about the activity being verboten, but I don't think a FISO, or administrative law judge would let that slow them down from chewing the ass off any pilot that let this go on.
  9. What's the point? Why do you need to make a jump from an airplane with a BASE rig? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  10. You're alive and talking about a very scary incident that has no standard answer/solution. Well done. My focus would be on prevention. See what can be done to avoid the same situation. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  11. Yes, if done once intentionally or as a repeated accident. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Whadda ya know, Paul Quade was right...... Great looking suit, have fun!
  13. Kieth is an example of someone who is so driven he wouldn't let any limitations set him back. I was always amazed at his determination to be a great tunnel flier, even with the hardware from a previous injury in his back making it that much more difficult for him. Always a friendly word from Kieth, I felt he was living life for what it was intended, to enjoy the human experience. He will be missed, but memories are good things to share..... "difficult I'll do today impossible I'll save for later" bsbd -jp-
  14. Never. I value packers, and thing for the most part the do a great job, but no one looks after my ass like I do. I always set my own brakes, and uncock or install my slider when using a packer, and I'll never use a packer with a full RDS. Heck in the past 3 years, I don't think I've bought even 25 sport pack jobs. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  15. Flogging on the customer's video is kinda unprofessional as well. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  16. I haven't seen the picture, but staff shirt or no, *I* think it's unprofessional of a TI to be flipping the bird on a customers video, no matter what the customer is doing. And it sounds like it's a moot point anyway. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  17. Promises. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  18. Nobody said anything about a military academy except you. If a DZ wants to present a professional image to their customers, what's wrong with that? Not all do, and sometimes that's a negative to customers. No one is saying instructors must be rank, and file, goose stepping and whatnot. But maybe staff shirts and a positive attitude?
  19. Not into a "uniform" eh? Working on a blog for that, and check out the Election forum for what's already been said....
  20. It's unprofessional. And as a reply to your joking comment about a dress code, yeah it's not that bad an idea. A uniform, or staff colors can be a tool to creating a team atmosphere, something that fosters improvement, professional behavior, and staff morale. And all those things, are good for business. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  21. A lot of them seem to be running DZs. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  22. And so disappears THE best thread that the bonfire has seen in years...... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  23. Wow. Just wow. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  24. JerryBaumchen DOH!! That's what I get for rushing to look at the pretty, shiny pictures before reading the text. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  25. Best description of a spider slider ever. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
