    Chuck, I did see your post, and have been putting some thought into how to best answer it. It's not an easy question at all, so I want to present my thoughts in a constructive manner. I have also been jumping hard this week (55 in the last 4 days) and worked on my blog for election as well. My apologies for not at least writing a quick note saying this before. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    I like the hump. Er, I mean I have no problem with the hump, I have moved the switch to the side slightly, I use the Conceptus tongue switch and have had no problem with my current one for more than 500 jumps.....     Good luck -- Which examiner? Blue Skies! Harry Leicher 2004 CFI of the Year FAA Western Pacific Region Joel Meyers, but that was back on May 9th, my birthday. Passed the oral that day, and due to weather we rescheduled my practical to the next Wednesday (May 11th.). I've had my PPL since! Got my complex check out, done about 20 hours cross country, and am studying for the instrument rating.

    Clearly I can't speak for everyone but the TIs that I know will treat it like a ride unless you say you're interested in getting your license at which point it's no longer a ride.

    Eh, the technology hasn't changed that much since 2006 that you as a first time jumper would notice. The most basic things to consider..... Do you want to experience freefall, or is the canopy flight enough. Do you want to say you've jumped "by yourself". ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    Kolla, you've been in this business too long to still be surprised by this. A huge percentage of jumpers just have to have the newest, shiny-est, bling bling, no matter how unnecessary or unproven.
