  1. You're from the US right? I thought this was a purely UK phenomenon. Hell hath no fury like an old relative with time on her hands to make sh!ite. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

  4. I have a few spare team tshirts. (See attached pic) Is there anyone who has spare tshirts of their team that they would like to swap? I am in the UK - but I am going to Lake Wales, Florida for Xmas and New Year - so if necessary, I can bring a few to the USA or - if anyone is interested in buying one - then they're £10 ($16) This covers my costs. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  5. And your point is? Did you read any of the original post? Thanks for the constructive response. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  6. I agree. Get them now. You can always tuck them away if you're having problems early on. Once you learn to fly your body and kit - then you can start introducing them back in. If you start doing serious 4 way (or even fun stuff for that matter) you'll kick yourself for spending all that money on a custom suit and not getting them from the start. Think about student suits: they don't have booties because at that point a) you're learning to PULL! b) you're learning to fly stable and control your body So you don't need them then. Look at all the other people (freaks excluded) - and they pretty much all have booties. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  7. Sorry for the late response - it's been a bit mad here.... Firstly thanks to Todd and Kathy for opening up the DZ.. I hadnt realised that they didnt actually open on Thursdays. Thanks to the pilot for taking us up to altitood. OK... College Station... wow... it is Chixville, TX, USA. Gotta go see... Thanks to Todd, (the other guy, sorry) AggieDave and TurtleSpeed for jumping with me. Thanks for showing us around the eateries and the evening hostelries. Thanks Turtle for ferrying me around said hostelries. Thanks to AggieDave for letting us use your couch and crashing over. (I think i left my shower gel in your bathroom... you can keep that ) Skydive Aggieland is one of the smallest DZs i have been to (but i've not been to many) and it's a very very friendly place. Thanks once again for having me over. It goes without saying that anytime you're in the UK - then I am more than happy to return the compliment. (oh and bring my shower gel) It's a shame that I couldn't stay over the weekend - I bet College Station and the DZ get pretty rowdy! That's maybe something to put on my 'to do' list. Catch y'all soon!! ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  8. ...Brendan... that's his name I was pretty amazed that, other than cops, I didn't see any firearms one show... but i am sure they were there all the same. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

It's Booo-Gie - not Buggie Thanks x ---------------------------------- EDIT: p.s. I only just seen this thread - and i've been back over a week - Casie - you should have bunked off! 11. I am so glad that nearly two years on (IIRC) - Will's spotting techniques still crops up in threads - and lots of them. Can't imagine who would pass that sort of footage on to HH ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  12. They sound like dorsal raises. You can do this flat on the ground too... either hands in the small of you back or near hips (easier) or hands near head (harder) ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  13. People don't know what they don't know... I used to just leave the excess trailing. On one jump - I managed to get both of my index fingers in the excess brake line loop. Then when I released the brakes, both of my fingers are caught against the metal ring above the toggle stows. More scary than anything else - I managed to just pull them out... but it was a heads up. I would consider stowing the excess in the top of the risers... but there have been other threads suggesting this not to be the best course of action. Some of the later Javelins (possibly others too??) have elastic on the opposite side of the rear riser that you can stow excess brake line. Be careful ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  14. Ah yes... indeed.... 64 % purer is the bit that i missed.... So i am indeed the mostest badderest of the two ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  15. Your soul is worth £14055. For your peace of mind, 64% of people have a purer soul than you. Does that make you more a badder ass than me? ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  16. Does anyone know if it is worth going (or easy to get into) into Mexico? Why...? Just to say that we have really.... Assuming we get that far down... (looking to you guys for guidance here) in the time, where might be a good place to cross... I simply looking at a map to where might be close to where we might be... Eagle Pass / Peidras Negras or Laredo / Nuevo Laredo. Thanks ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  17. Don't tempt me... It means we'll have to have beer and good times.... and we wouldn't want that to happen now, would we? ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  18. I have a map of TX - and it's a big ol' place We're not expecting to do all this in one day... we're in it for the long haul. No wives or SOs - just 2 guys having a craic on a road trip We're not museum / art gallary types - but be good to check out some local stuff... Bars are good... but we want to be able to look around - not sleep off big hangovers. Priorities are: 1) Have fun! (we're on vacation goddamit
  19. Cheers dude.... It sounds like the route I posted earlier is similar to the one that you are suggesting. I take it it's 'do-able'? We dont want to be driving for hours and hours every day - but we would like to see a good proportion of the state in the time available. What things are available to us on that route? ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  20. Don't even go there.... jeez.... ( but I managed in the end...) Jess... i heard she was a pussycat edited: for smelling pisstake ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
  21. A friend and I are coming to Texas and I thought I would try and get some suggestions for places to go and things to see. Unfortunately, I am not planning on jumping My reserve would be out of date - and I don’t want to take all that kit for a week... and my mate is not a jumper... so we’re having a road trip My mate is flying in this weekend (to Dallas Ft Worth) and I am flying out to meet him Thurs 13th Nov. Here's our rough route... He wanted to go to Rio Grande and do some white water rafting. But he's not so sure we can make it (because I am travelling out after him) - so we're looking at travelling down towards Waco - Austin - San An - (down towards that corner) then up maybe thru' Corpus - Houston and back up for a couple of ‘touristy’ days in Dallas before flying out on Sunday 23rd. Is that a good route? Suggestions for a better one? Would we have time to check out Big Bend / Rio Grande - or are there other white water rafting sites in TX? NOW.... *if* I do feel the need to jump… Do DZs hire out 'experienced kit? I don’t fancy doing a jump on a 200+ canopy I am planning to bring my docs out - just in case... Where might be a good DZ that we could chill and say hi? Many thanks in advance... I know TX is a big place - It would be like you asking me where to go in the UK for a week.... ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
