Brute power is not always great... As anyone that's been to the Paris tunnle may verify. However, I'm sure SVAZ will be lovely. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

Team is called South Parc We just organised and competed in a local comp... we used the NSL draw, and got an official BPA judge... Write up and photos of the RAFSPA 4 way competition can be found on the NSL Skyleague site here: http://skyleague.com/pages/news/showArticles.php?story=143 ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

It's about a plan - and that's ours It works ok for us. OC takes his grips and looks back, this is the sign that he's on. Tail can see that I'm on the cat. Our tail has HUGE arms (he's about 6'18") so OC can see the key just fine. It also means that there's no 'tug tug' pass it on kinda stuff going on. The problem we do have - is that OC keeps keying the bottom of the 13 - when he shouldn't - as he can't know whether Point is catted on me correctly. That's my job ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

We launch a fully gripped up side body (P) and grip switch to the 13. Tail keys the first part of the 13, so that with this exit, he knows that OC has his grips on Point and only needs to make sure that himself and IC have grip switched before keying. It may appear slow, but like I said, tail does not need to wait for the front piece to build before keying. Hope that helps Rgds, Phil ---------------------- www.southparc.co.uk

The biggest (civilian) tunnel is under 'renovation' and is in Bedford, UK. It will be a smidge over 16 feet in diameter. It is planned for opening in August from what I hear. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

usual disclaimer re: not being instructor etc etc.... but as far as i know - no AAD requirements unless you are student or pre-B licence (from memory, sorry, but usual BPA regs) ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

Edit the black and white .bmp's in Painbrush (or your favourite graphices package) Re: expensive laminates. Do it at work, thereby spending their money, doing something skydive related at work and getting paid for it! ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

yes - new M, 5 and 12 included. What do u mean by plug? Is that the thing that's missing from the AZ tunnel? Shame... I'm still looking forward to our little trip though. And you need to update that www site of yours... ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

What's so wrong with laminated dive pool cards? I have all the randoms and blocks in colour. I have colour coded all of the slots and also changed the formations for left hand door, as, generally a few of the IPC ones are the wrong way around. Email if anyone is interested. Slightly too big to attach ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

We are now planning a road trip, following the Christmas Boogie, from Eloy, through AZ to Las Vegas. Having looked at the USPA web site, it looks like a very rough schedule would be: 3rd Jan - Marana 3rd Jan - Coolidge 4th Jan - Desert 5th Jan - Cottonwood 6th Jan - Boulder 6th Jan - Vegas Extreme Anyone have any info or experience of these DZs? Or are there any more on the way from Eloy to Las Vegas? Thanks ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

Thanks guys. Just to re itterate... I don't need to fly back from AZ. I would go to Cal, Nevada, Texas. I just want to try and get the best route available. With that in mind - any other possible routes? Thanks, Phil ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

Hi guys This is the first seed of a plan, you U.S. guys tell me if it's viable. OK, so we're planning on flying into Phoenix on or around Christmas and then jumping at Eloy for the Boogie. Some time around 2 / 3 January, the plan is to take a road trip from DZ to DZ, taking in the views and towns and cities of, well.... wherever we end up going! My guess would be to head towards San Diego / LA, but if there's anything better in another direction - then we can do that. There just needs to be a major international airport at the end of it, to get us back to the UK. So - sound like a plan? Tell me what you think we should be doing!! Thanks ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

Mate, You seem to re-enforce here (in the BASE community) the cliques you so hate about skydiving/DZs Your post here We both know that some people will want to get into things because they appear to be the 'cool' things to do. Some, like yourself, will take their time and do their background and homework. (Remember when you were a 200 jump wonder, hooking too low into the landing area?) Not everyone will take the same route that you took, it may not be the best way for them - and it may not be the way that you would like people to take. Unfortunately, you cannot do all that much about it. Take a breath, step back and see the similarities. Spread the love dude. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

Help for choosing the right colors (see attachment)
SpinDoctor replied to Kerozene's topic in Gear and Rigging
IMHO Never have more than 3 colours in total - ever White gets dirty. Full stop (period for you US types) You can normally see through white too. Consider, if you intend to do competition RW, a darker suit and white gloves for showing separation to judges. ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk ----------------------- -
How do I enhance stills from video?
SpinDoctor replied to SpinDoctor's topic in Photography and Video
I have had a quick search and couldn't find anything, apologies if there is a post that i didn;t see. OK - so i know i can take stills using the Sony PC9 and i can take stills from tape on to memory stick, and i can get them to the PC using USB. Someone at a DZ somewhere mentioned that you can enhance the (pretty poor) quality of the stills that go on to memory stick. Anyone care to enlighten me? TIA ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk ----------------------- -
Drag the clip into the timeline - the 'sound waves' should appear in the Audio timeline. Right click on the audio clip(s) in question and select the 'Mute' option from the menu. BTW. I am using MovieMaker ver. 2.0.3312.0 with Windows XP ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

ff1 and ff2, Wake up and smell the coffee BPA!
SpinDoctor replied to Andrewnewell's topic in Freeflying
So it's not the FF 1/2 system or the BPA's fault. I seems that local FF coaching 'ratings' have been given to the most current / persistent / freeflyer at some DZs, without there being a process similar to the FS rating. So - does there need to be a more structured FF coaches rating? Or now that the 'old boys free for all' has finished (??) is freefly coaching taken a bit more seriously. If FF 1/2 awards are being given out correctly - then this thread is reduntant. If not, are we still in a period of transition from the 'old boys club'? I guess it's very much dependant in each DZ and who runs (any: FS / FF) the coaching. [Edit to add:] In theory, all of these ratings are not given out by the coach, but an advanced instructor, probably on the recommendation or otherwise of the coach in question. Anyway - what do i know, I can't freefly that well and love 4 way. Flat is the new phree ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk ----------------------- -
ff1 and ff2, Wake up and smell the coffee BPA!
SpinDoctor replied to Andrewnewell's topic in Freeflying
I was thinking of this post on the way to work this morning - and felt i had to chip in. IMO - you badly contradict yourself here. Yes - more coaching and education, but in my opinion that IS what FF1 and FF2 are about: Coaching and education. It's not just about stickers. (Although it is nice to feel that you have achieved something too) It's about showing a nominated coach that you have achieved BASIC competance and awareness, NOT that you can do a 20 way headdown. As for coaching rating - I think that's a good thing too. There is a BPA FS rating that you can gain, so why not an equivalent FF rating. It's not just about "Yeah - you can do 4 way, so here's your rating..." You have to have sat a 'Methods of Instruction' lecture, show competence in the discipline, minimum 2 years in the sport, 300 jumps and a CCI nomination. Although - that means you get another card (read sticker / gold star) to carry around with you What, in your opinion, do you think the FF1 and FF2 are for then - if not to show that the individual has received coaching and education? ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk ----------------------- -
coz he's a skanky fekk'r probably only $20 - but likely there would be some kind soul going that direction - so probably no big deal ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------

from memory - you need CCI permissoin and B licence. B licence is 50 jumps and IC1 So even if u have >50 jumps and no CCI permission and no IC1 - you can't jump a full face ----------------------- Connextion: British 8 Way Team www.bodyflight.co.uk -----------------------
