So I'm headed to a beach to jump, and they (DZ) require floatation to jump onto the beach. I'm sure my sterns fanny pack flotation would fit around my waist UNDER my suit no problem, do ya think the DZO will go fer it?? Anybody with exp. on beach wingsuit jumps, I'd be interested on hearing your feedback. And of course, I will call ahead to be sure, just wondering what y'all have come across. Thanks, Blair PS I KNOW it is NOT RECOMMENDED that you have a water landing in a wingsuit, I don't plan too, but that's what the floatation is for...right?

My first 9 jumps on a GTI in the last 60 days, out of about 30 total skydives being a vidiot sucks sometimes, especially when the casa is doing high speed passes and the cumulous clouds are from 4k to like 20k.. At least when the tandem videos finally slow down, I'll have mucho dinero to burn through practicing on my GTI!!!! and manbird, try as I may I cannot make your voice sound like a shool girl in my head (believe me, I tried) so please post a pic

Hey, Can you post some directions so I may read up on this 33000' jump without a canopy?? It would save me tons of $$$$ if it could be replicated

Thanks to those who've posted so far... Yuri, the better flight performance you speak of..is this mainly due to the shape of the merlin container? I don't know much at all about this container, I was late to b-day last year and missed the trade show. I need to order some new boots next week, so I'll ask marta about it when I call, any further info on this rig, or any others is greatly apprectiated. Blair

Looking for opinions on the best container for wingsuit BASE jumps. Would love to hear comments and experiences with your choices. I've searched the archives and found some stuff, but any help is greatly appreciated. BSBD Blair

Anybody got any info on this weekend in Louisburg? Is there a boogie there this year? Thanks, Blair

I have 10 jumps on my new GTI, I am starting to scratch the surface with human flight. I would love to hear any of your'e descriptions regarding ideal body position, specifically for the GTI. I realize that is a very broad request, since everyone's ideal position would be different since everyone's body is different. Just looking for some genereal tips and maybe suggestions for newer flyers on technique, and bad habits to stay away from. I don't have any pics (yet) to show you how I fly now, but will post ASAP. I noticed I don't get much forward speed until I really point my toes and get my legs wide and straight, is this normal or ineffiecient? kan't spel One thing I noticed this past weekend, when I really start to pic up speed, I kind of rock back and forth, not from the head to toe aspect, but from left to right, reminds me of a big shrimp boat with the nets out rocking back and forth (ok bad analogy, I said I'm new). Thanks for any help you can give, I love this sh!t !!!!! Blair Edited to add: I did have some really great training from the Monkey himself, but unfortunately we brought gray skies along with our cheap beer that weekend and thus were unable to jump. So I got the theory, just no real air time with a coach...yet.

One of my friends here in the South has been using slinks for about a year now I believe, hopefully I can get him to get his finger out of his ass and post some data.

During a normal day at the DZ, I'm switching tapes every load(tandems to be edited), so I need to be able to access the bottom without having to remove the plate. Got any other ideas??? What about a d-box? Thanks again, Blair
-
THIS is exactly what I would like to do, only problem is my video camera ejects tapes from the bottom(PC110), so what's my best option after the stroboframe since that would make getting a tape out a pain in the ass. THANK YOU for your input, and the great pics. Blair

Yo! I had one of the earlier 35mm versions, and it lasted a mere half season shooting tandems on the weekends. The spot where they added the remote release jack was shoddy at best. I then contacted them and they said they only sold the elph APS version now, so I sent in the $$$ and got the elph. Sold it before I even jumped it, way small and not what I was looking for. Anyways, I picked up a slightly used canon IOS Lite which uses the APS film, 2 NICE lenses, for $130. Bottom line, get yourself a REAL camera first, you'll be happier in the long run...or if you find a supply of the old owls, I'll stick the switch on em for $10 max

Thanks, look forward to the pics, and could you also post some directions to the quick release you speak of. Muchas Gracias! Blair

I have a new Flat top pro, a Sony PC110, and a Canon IOS Lite. I would prefer to mount them both on the top, perhaps side by side. I have a nice carbon fiber box that I can slide my video camera in and out from the rear, but nothing as of yet for the still. I would like to hear from others jumping this helmet and learn more about how you have it setup. Positive/negative, just looking for some tips, I used a protec for the last 1.5 years. Thanks in advance! Sup Dad....uu I mean Cajones!

Howdy, I have a Vengence 150 wtih about 200 jumps on the original line set. I am having the lower control lines lengthend in order to provide better performance on the front risers. Currently in full flight, the tail is still being pulled down slightly, and when I hook it on the fronts, it gets ugly back there. My question is how long should they be extended. I know this will vary from jumper to jumper, but we (my rigger and I) figured we'd start with about 5 inches and go from there. Any insight on this? Thanks in advance. Blair

Yo Flipper, I too flew the coop for the first time in my GTI this weekend. And as you said, bye bye freefly, but I have to do video, cause it pays for the wingsuit jumps!!! Nothing out of a plane even compares, I managed 4 this weekend and my last one gave me 72 seconds of freefall in about 7000'. However I did not feel my horizontal speed was very great, I only made it halfway back on the first 3 jumps from 2 miles past. I know I need major work on body position, what a humbling experience. The last one I just carved a huge sweeping turn over the dz and out over the lake, UNBELIEVEBLE!!!!!!! How about the way the plane just hangs there after you exit, and the quiet calm of the sky. I can't wait till Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats dude! Blair
-
maybe the wrong forum, but I couldn't resiist... swoop??? I bet this thing has a catwalk inside it...how bout a freefall...inside...

Hey Ray, How many BASE jumps you have??? How many sites have you worked hard to open, then lost to some skydiving yahoo??? Before you condemn the wishes of the moderator and MOST ALL OF US BASE JUMPING READERS, try looking at it from OUR angle, we love to share sites and info, try PMing anyone of us..... sorry if this sounds arrogant etc. but you touch a nerve with me, all we are asking for is cooperation, do it our way and the possiblities are endless, do it your way and have fun on solos...and getting all the tar out of your fingernails edited: I realize you are talking about not naming LEGAL sites, all I'm saying is respect the wishes of the elders and play the game our way, after all there is a reason Tom A and crew have all those jumps. Peace, Blair

I am looking for information on how folks are holding the PC whilst giving another jumper a PCA?? I was personally trained one way, then after awhile, started doing it a different way. I've seen methods that include holding it at the bridle attachment point, holding it by the apex, folding the PC like a mushroom pack and holding around the ZP over the mesh, etc. I've also seen one broken finger and heard of other smashed arms and elbows as a result of giving another a PCA improperly. So what's everyone else doing out there and why...and if you would like, expand on what you do with the excess bridle. Thanks in advance!! Blair
