    It's going to take a lot of convincing the old timers to change, but I personally show the video that I posted upthread to students, show them why and how it works... They have both ways of doing it, its their call. However, this method probably wont be too effective if the line twists are behind ones head and pinning it down. Just because the rig is skyhook equipped, doesn't mean it will always activate the reserve.     So, a Cirrus SR-20 costs about $200/hr to rent, they are fun to fly, but not my cup of tea... They have a full glass panel and really do a good job at making it look good, but what the hell happened to basic pilotage? THIS guy is blaming the GPS for leading him to a road that he then landed on, instead of landing at Pilot Country airport, which is just about 6000' to the west. Map Airport is to the left of the image, Citation Road to the right...     I know it happens and I know it bugs the living crap out of me that somebody is so damned cheap as to not put a new one in at re-pack. F'n bozos. Well, a 50 meter spool of it costs $25, so that's what, 50¢ per meter, and even the long closing loops (racers not included in this) on most sport rigs only require what, less than a foot? That's 17¢ per closing loop!!     Are you sure that you are not talking about the main loop? I don't think that any wear on the reserve loop is acceptable. Many riggers change the closing loop at every repack, but some don't. It never hurts to ask a rigger what they think about the condition of the loop. Sometimes they end up looking a little worn but still be perfectly fine.     If I were doing it again, a flat top type of helmet, CX-100 with the Raynox 3035 and Canon XSi with a Sigma 15mm. I've got all of that (minus the flat top and the 15mm prime, I've got a 10-20mm), but on a Cookie MXV, and the side video kind of gets annoying at times. Also, I pick the CX-100 because the memory card is located on the side, not the bottom. I pop both of my cards out of my cameras so I never have to disconnect them from the helmet = less wear/tear on the gear. I even made it so I can charge my video camera while it's mounted in the box on the side of the helmet. A FAST PC, I've got a hex-core Phenom processor 3.2ghz overclocked and watercooled pushing a stable 3.96ghz, 8gb ram, Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit Also Sony Vegas... but that shit is EX-PENSIVE!
