  1. If you decide not to jump it you are welcome to send it to me for proper disposal.
  2. What is that stuff for? I got some with my protector and can't figure it out.
  3. I emailed them asking some questions about the Viso, I didn't even own an L&B product. Within hours I received an email from Mads answering all of my questions. He also wanted to know my address so he could send me a Christmas present. A week or so later I got a Protector, a bunch of batteries, and some patches and stickers. I realized then that they were the folks to deal with.
  4. Excuse me sir but here in Bama we have sex with our blood sisters
  5. anyone who knows. Do master riggers here have to build a rig as part of their qualification?
  6. Thats pretty cool that you're making a harness/container. Are you allowed to jump the rig when you complete it?
  7. I wonder why they don't rework them or something along those lines for like half the price of a new unit.
  8. My first jump was a tandem. The wind noise during freefall was crazy. I found myself gasping for air, it seemed like I couldn't get a breath. There wasn't any sensation of falling. It wasn't like falling off your roof or on a roller coaster where you get the rise in your stomach. The experience was very extreme. Then all of the sudden it felt my brains were going to fly out of my toes when the canopy opened. The canopy ride was much less wild feeling but equally fun. The only way to explain it is beautiful. Every thing was much more quiet. Nothing around you like every other time you've flown. My second jump was a little different. No difficulty breathing. I had a job to do in freefall checking heading, alt, my instructors, doing practice throws. The level of adrenaline is like my first sexual experience. All in all the most awesome thing in the world.
  9. I was at the DZ today learning how to pack and they had the King Air taken apart replacing some hoses I think. They said they were part of a 2 or 4 yr maintenance schedule, can't remember which. Made me feel good too see them taking care of that kind of thing.
  10. I guess my point didn't get conveyed very well. The more I read the post the more I'm thinking how I would feel if I were Eric. The seller definitely got screwed but It's not Eric's fault. I don't have alot of money and if I lost my rig it would end my skydiving days. Hell I'm trying to scrape together money to buy my first rig and am not even close. Companies assume risk when they go into business. My wife is a business manager at a company that distributes industrial equipment. She said they got taken with a bad CC last week and will have to absorb the cost. I feel for the seller and would never advocate the sale of stolen gear. BUT, Eric did nothing wrong, he even stated that he checked the numbers to see if the gear was stolen. I'm sorry if my previous post was pointed but this issue hits home. If or when I'm able to buy a rig I plan on doing everything in my power to protect my investment.
  11. I wish someone would post the dealers name, or the dealer would post up. I want to make sure I don't ever buy gear that was ever connected to this guy for fear that due to his sloppy practices I might pay for gear that he lays claim to after four years.
  12. Ya know, I think everything has been covered here at least once. If no one posted because they found everything they were looking for by searching there wouldn't be much point in having a forum right. Sorry I fucking hate replies like that. Search is broken.... Man, don't I feel like a dick. Sorry for my post then, I thought you were being an ass. I love you

  14. I don't know about the portion of your post regarding what you'll need to do to get back into things but my father lost an eye in 1980. He had some trouble with depth perception early on. Eventually his brain figured out how to judge distance with only one eye. In certian lighting he still has trouble, very rarely and minor. Do you ever have similar issues?
  15. I've got an Altitrack and it has tons of features. Logs all kinds of useful data. Will also playback any jump stored in it for training. One downside is that the software doesn't come with it but looks like it does some neat things. Check out some of the screen shots and info on the L&B page. I haven't used Jumptrack but will be buying it soon for lack of a better option.
  16. I just talked to the guy on the phone. He seemed like a nice dude. He said it was a 190 f111 main and that it was out of date, I don't know why it would be, he said it was manufactured in 94. It has a raven reserve, can't remember the size and he couldn't find the DOM on the container or the sizing info (I didn't know where to tell him to look). He said he used to jump at skydive atlanta. He told me he only payed $900.00 for the rig and that he knows that it's worth more but he's getting out of the sport as he's moved to Colorado. Thought I'd find out the skinny. Hope this helps.
  17. Well half my age plus 7 is 21. I'd definitely do some 18 yr olds out there.
  18. I don't understand why people ask questions just to argue with the people trying to help them.
  19. The wife asked me to make a list of skydiving gear I might want for Christmas. I really wanted an altimeter. I wrote down a few specific items (nothing major) and on the list was a galaxy. I told her to look on paragea.com and aerostore.com to shop around. Well that didn't help. She still bought the wrong thing (not that this worked out bad). She got confused and instead of Altimaster she got Altitrack. I'm really stoked except for the fact that she spent more than she needed to on a gift for me. She also got me some Akando gloves that seem really nice and comfy. I love my wife.
  20. When I get a rig of my own I'll probably pack it a hundred times before I jump it just playing with it. I clean my guns all the time even when I havent been shooting. Wash my bikes when I havent been riding. Thats just the kind of guy I am. love to fiddle with my toys.
  21. Thats wicked, I'll bet he had to wash his jump suit out after that one. You would think the pilot would have been routed away from the DZ since jumpers were in the air. Am I right?
  22. I'd laugh my ass off if his hot rock blew off and caught his canopy on fire.
