  1. We JUST shipped one this morning!
  2. Jeff is right, I worked in the parts dept. while he was doing R&D. Before the V-3 project was started (he was still working on the dual PC rig) I mentioned an idea for a main pin cover that I had come up with the night before and had never seen. I described it to Jeff, but never drew a picture or anything. Jeff built the first center flap for the V-3 with this pin cover, and it turned out the same way I had pictured it in my mind. It could be said that Jeff designed it since he drew the patterns, but would he have drawn them if I hadn't shared my idea? That's one of those things we'll never know the answer to
  3. Everyone has pretty much covered all the vital points, esp. leaving about 18" of unstowed line between the last stow and the risers. When you place the bagged main canopy in the container, place the line stows in the container first, then rotate the bag so that the top is against the bottom of the reserve container. This should help keep your lines from sneaking out of the corners while your closing your container (which I believe is unrelated to line twists). PM me your mailing address and I'll get an owners manual out to you ASAP
  4. Just thought I'd bump this up since our old phone company seems to have trouble leaving an accurate forwarding number
  5. You guys are worrying me.....................
  6. Yes, we're still accepting walk in business, but the shop will be closed on the weekends so we can have fun at the DZ Rob, as of now, the Kapowsin Caravan will be at Blue Skies Skydiving in Bremerton this weekend, and Kapowsin will be operating normally the following weekend. After that is still dependant on the results of the new permit application, AFAIK
  7. Hey everyone, I thought I'd let everyone know that Velocity Sports Equipment has moved
  8. Chuck, was this on one of the older (Northern Lite) Infinity's? I really don't want to hijack the thread, just want to gather detailss for future reference
  9. Hey, were did I see that before?
  10. It should be noted that not all "tuck under" pin cover flaps are created equal, and done properly could be argued to be more secure than the up-tuck pincover.
  11. We're also technically closed on the weekend too, but how often do you see us here on the weekends?
  12. That's a good idea that will probably find it's way on to the next order form revision
  13. You could always leave them loose until just before you get into the plane. I know some people don't like doing that though, so if you want the narrow pads, just say the word
  14. We can make you some narrow legpads- 3" vs. the 4 1/4" you have now. Let me know if you would like to go that route. Do you usually have problems on the ground or under canopy?
  15. Looks like an Infinity to me! Actually, it looks like serial #6873, to be exact It looks like the rings are right about where we like them to be- right between the top of your femur and the top of your pelvis. It wouldn't feel too good to have a ring sitting right on top of a bone, now would it?
  16. b1jercat is pretty much right on the money. The volumes in the owners manual are calculated as the pattern is drawn. That is the only way to accurately find a volume number, and it actually works better for the main container than it does for the reserve due to the shape of the container. The profile of our reserve container is a triangle, but you generally won't find a container (any-not just ours) where the profile is a perfectly straight on the top and bottom, let alone square corners and such When you combine this with the widely varying canopy volume numers, it really is just best to say "size x canopy fits best in size y container". This change will be made when we revise our owners manual. The chart that RIGGER posted is not complete, (it doesn't have all of our container sizes) but it does cover the most popular sizes. SRG, our main container sizes are a bit on the "aggressive" side due to the fact that jumpers generally want to downsize, not upsize. Dacron line makes a large difference in canopy pack volume, and if we had known that your main canopy was going to have dacron line, we would have made the main container larger. Packing also plays a large role in how a canopy fits into a container. Many people pack canopies with too much bulk in the center of the bag because it makes it easier to contain the it while getting ready to put it in the bag. This makes it difficult to close the bag completely, and close the container properly. As a general rule of thumb with any container, you want to fill the bag evenly from side to side
  17. When you figure that one out. let me know - don't tell anyone else though! We'll make a million dollars. Isn't your rig NEON BLUE???
  18. I suspect you won't see any licensing until a patent has actually been granted. There is a difference between applying for a patent, and actually getting it. Last I checked, there was no patent for the Skyhook, and I'm sure bill has filed for it. The TSO portion is is largely paperwork and some additional testing- not a complete re-TSO of the rig- last I checked, Skyhook equipped Vectors were still TSOed under C23b
  19. How hot is it when you're going to dinner? Are you saying that you leave the DZ when there's perfectly usable sunlight left?!?!?
  20. Hi David, You seem to have a pretty "average" body size. Your SHAPE may be "not so average" (don't know without your specific measurements), but chances are we can build you an Infinity that would fit you great
  21. Whoa THERE'S a blast from the past! Yeah, I made the spider slider mostly to retract the pilot chute and reduce drag. I also deployed the parachute with a diaper, using the "o rings" from water ballons as rubber bands
  22. I'm glad you guys are happy (along with seemingly everyone else in this thread
  23. So how full were those Coronas when you strated assembling your mains?
  24. Those are holes from the laser cutter. They use the holes for construction marks and for code to keep track of what parachute the piece is for
