  2. It is possible to be within the law, and be a crook. It has to do with ethics and moral values. Just because something is legal, doesn't mean that it is ethical or moral. If what the story says is true, they are crooks, in my opinion, even if the actions were within the letter of the law. Are you saying that because what they did was legal, it was ethical? _____________________________ The lawmakers make the laws and write-in the 'loop-holes'. With the stroke of a pen and enough 'Yays', anything is possible AND... legal! Ta-da! Government at work. For instance. The 'little' loop-hole in regard to a large tax break for those who purchased big, heavy SUVs. The government was being cheated out of tax dollars and it was all legal. It may be un-ethical but, it is legal. Nobody goes to the slammer. Also, the lobbyists, buying-off the politicians 'profit' by these loop-holes. One reason the lobbyists pay the politicians the big bucks... to get what they want. Hey! It's the government. Oxymoron: Government - Ethics! Chuck

  4. That however, was one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. I can almost hear a friend of mine from Sconsin. Oh ya, you betcha! Not to get too off-topic here, but speaking of odd regional sayings, whats with people from the south saying, "I'll tell you what..." I always want to answer them by asking, "What?" _________________________________- Just hang-on! We're fixin' to tell ya'! Chuck

  7. I think "y'all" should be accepted throughout the English speaking world, since the English language has no plural specific form of "you." ________________________________ You are leaving out our Northern State neighbors who do not use 'y'all' for the plural of 'you'. They use 'youse' as in; "Are youse guys going to the store?" Chuck

  15. His parents were probably smart enough to bank most of the money he made, knowing he'll be a 'one hit wonder'. I would guess he has a trust fund to draw from, and now doesn't have to worry about doing gay porn to pay the bills in a few years. Either that, or mom and dad stole all his money and spent it on blow... Jeff ________________________________ That's why California, has 'The Coogan Law'. To protect child actors from being ripped-off by their parents or guardians. Named for the late child star: Jackie Coogan. Chuck

  19. ____________________________________ That 'Blue' material, as I recall, was touted as quite the thing, back then. The earlier Triathalons, did have thicker material. The reserve 'mystery bulk' was a different matter. Chuck
  20. I think the quote unquote mystery bulk refers to an actual moment in time (late 80s or early 90s?) when reserves of the same model and size started to pack bigger. ____________________________________ Well, now you've really got my interest and curiosity up. I'm going to do some 'digging' into that. Wasn't that with Precision Aerodynamics reserves and I believe that was middle to late 80's. Seems like, I recall George Galloway, addressing the subject. The old memory just ain't what it used to be. Sparky! Riggerrob! Where are ya' when we need ya'? Chuck
  21. The 'mystery bulk' phenomenon, has been around a long time. It has been explained to me that, it could be the difference in packing methods of various riggers or variations in material thickness. It may be something you may have to live with. edit to add: there is reference to this phenomenon in Poynter's Parachute Manual. Chuck
