We were watching anyone and everyone. Who was gonna whack Tony? We kept waiting for that. I think, we were all waiting to see 'when' Pauly was gonna get it. I think, Tony considered it but, to keep Pauly on his side, he offered a better opportunity in the 'family'. All the little 'undercurrent' stories just kept us thrown-off. Tony saying good-bye to his uncle was like saying good-by to yesterday. There was something new coming. Tony's old 'shrink' cut him loose. He was dependant so, he turned to his son's shrink. (Did you notice the legs on the new shrink? His other shrink would wear skirts to drive Tony nuts during filming. Sometimes, she'd wear slacks to 'mess' with him.) I just saw where it was all, just the start of something. Something we may never see. All in all, I found the 'finale', quite interesting and thought provoking. Chuck

When I first started packing Wings, I had that problem. The pilot chute would rise-up on one side. I spoke with the owner of Wings (Henri) and he told me to get all the material I could into the upper half of the bag... really fill it. After compressing the pilot chute and temp pinning it, I'll reach in with my thumbs and really work the material away from the center toward the sides to maintain a good 'hollow' for the pilot chute. Loop length is really important with Wings and as mentioned, the loops stretch. Even after pre-stretching. I've seen the same thing you mentioned after the owner made two or three jumps and I tell them I would like to re-close their reserve (I had packed it) and that I didn't like the looks of it. Like all the other riggers here, I don't charge for that. Like other riggers, I want the owner's rig to be correct and look good. If, another rigger packed it, I just calmly, tell the owner to take it back to their rigger. Chuck

The scene of the car rolling over Phil's head, was typical Sopranos. The guys in the background puking put the 'icing' in the scene. Yeah, the show leaves it wide open for... Chuck
-
At first, I thought; "Whadda lousy ending!" After thinking about it, the Sopranos go on. Tony's pain in the ass Phil, got knocked-off. Pauly took the 'position' offered, Tony's family has a 'life plan', Tony is alive and life goes on. It was all lined-out over onion rings. We didn't really want to see Tony killed... did we? Chuck

I wanted to mention also, I know, everybody says you can ride a horse at 2-yrs. old. I've had several Veterinarians tell me that it's not a good idea. Their legs aren't 'fully' developed at that age. At about 30-months, a couple slow walks around the round pen on their back about once a week. A fast run at 2-years can damage their legs. At this time in your horse's life should be more ground work. As suggested, tying a sack of grain to the saddle won't hurt him. When long lining a young horse, I prefer using 2-long lines. This way, as he's going around the round pen, I can change his direction by pulling on one of lines. Just a suggestion. Chuck

I believe, you pointed-out your 'problem' when you said you 'skipped too many steps'. Ground work! Lots of it. Especially, with a young horse. Work on getting the 'spooks' out of him. You've had some names of good horse trainers mentioned here. Monty Roberts and Craig Cameron are two who you might also check-out. The main thing is, when you go to work with your horse, don't set a time limit on your sessions with him. Spend as much time as you can with him in a 'non work' manner. Get to know each other. Build trust. When you do work him, have a set 'plan' and stick to it. Don't get in a hurry! Just remember, adreniline up... learning down. Good luck Chuck

________________________________________ They need to put 'revolving doors' in the county jail and re-hab houses for all these young 'celebs'! Chuck

Are you sure? I always had the impression that since local jails were mostly small time offenders, the risk of violence and gangrape would be significantly reduced. Never been to jail so I don't really know but, it would seem that there would at least be that distinction. Being in a max pen with hardened criminals, murderers gangsters and guys who are never going to get out and have nothing to lose would scare me to death (I would still be somewhat nervous if sent to a local jail). _______________________________________ I know a couple jailers who work at the County Cross-bars Hotel in a town of about 100,000 and they've told me some stories that made me cringe. Ok, so what is it like to be in prison? (Other than what Krip has already described.) And 1969912: Who is Goatse??? ______________________________________ About all I know about prison or jail is what I've been told by folks I know who worked in them. To sum it up... I dang sure wouldn't want to be there! Chuck

About the same as a large prison... just on a smaller scale. Chuck

I don't think, there was a 'Top Ten' at that time. Probably a Sinatra or Goodman number. Chuck

No, but my friend isn't the worldwide posterchild for everything wrong with America. I thought she was a fucking idiot for a while and didn't even associate with her until she grew up a bit, and it'll be a loooooong time before she can regain the respect I used to have for her. But the thing is, when someone is paraded around in front of the world as the epitome of "Money gets you out of anything", I don't see a problem with some animosity towards that person. It takes a lot for me to feel ashamed of anything, but people like her make me ashamed to be from California. I might be a selfish, twisted, and condescending asshole, but at least I'm not a moron who only made it past puberty because daddy had a hojillion dollars. ______________________________________ It comes with fame. I've seen in various sized communities where, someone gets-off a DUI charge because they are a 'big name' in that community or they get-off a rape charge because they are the 'star' on the high school football team and the girl came from 'the other side of the tracks' and had a bad reputation, anyhow.() It happens all over this country. We tend to give preferential treatment to those of 'status'. Is it right? I don't think so. Will it continue? Probably. This is America! Chuck
