  1. Well said both of you. I concur. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  2. Well I find it funny, that quite often the reason we as people want to not believe in God falls back on being judged.......I mean how dare anyone judge me?? We want to think we are on the top of judgement chain. Yet those 10 rules are basic common sense that would make the world a better place.....What's wrong with not killing? Not stealing? Not coveting you neighbor's wife? (Even if she is a babe?) If you were the supreme parent of a bunch of corruptible kids....wouldn't those be the kind ground rules you'd lay down??? Especially when your kids develop toys like guns, drugs and nuclear weapons?? And what kind of threats would you use on a "mankind" scale? Go to your room??? I think the penalty needs to be a bit stiffer than that. But even so, I think God is a bit more forgiving than that. I think mankind is a child that could use a bit more Godly parenting...We got the science part down pretty good. But when it comes to logic and objectivity we have been screwing up things for a long time. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  3. Curious.......what in the bible is wrong? I've made many attempts at reading the bible and truth be told I understand very little of it. But as nothing about God can neither be proved or disproved I ownder what you find wrong. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

  7. The evidence favors whomever is putting their own creative spin on it. Scholars on both sides have not been able to clearly establish the truth. If ANYONE had unsurmoutable proof, undeniable evidence...we would not even be having this discussion, would we? Like I believe there is a God, on my own personal faith, you must admit that you believe there is not a God on your faith. I am aware my references were Christian in nature. I couldn't think of anything Buddhist or Muslim that quite fit the bill... JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  8. Life can't be all that bad if you got a family that loves you enough to give you an awesome container. I hope the rest of your life gets better. Sending you good vibes. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  9. Congratulations. I wish you all the best. Do not take my trial and error method to marital happiness. It took 2 attempts to get the third one right. There are two ways to a heppy marriage: 1) Do the exact opposite of what I did or do the easy thing: 2) Whatever the wife says is right. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  10. Tink, the burden of proof rests with the individual. It's not a matter of taking sides, cause there are way too many sides duking it out. Part of the problem is human nature to want to be right, to prove what we think and force others to see our way. Too many cooks so to speak. All the bullshit boils down to what you have faith in. I have spent the last thirteen years looking and listening to everybodies take on God I could find. Some interesting points were made, but all in all nobody can absolutely prove anything. I guess thats why its called faith. Despite all the arguments for or against every angle of God, it came down to me asking for an answer and God answering. It has been that way ever since. I ask and if I am listening I get an answer. Maybe not the one I want, nor in the way I would like to get it. But an answer none the less. Personally I'd love a burning bush and some stone tablets delivered, via FedEx to me from God. It would take a lot of guess work out of the process. I consider myself to be a fairly intelligent person. I understand I know little about anything and that I have the potential to learn. I could be wrong on the exsistence of God. But it feels right. It's hard to defend a feeling, or convince anyone on the exsistense of God on a feeling. Maybe it would be easy to defend a belief had I been raised that way and taught it from childhood. But such is not the case. With concerns to any God beliefs I was a blank slate so to speak. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  11. We as people spend far too much time intellectually rationalizing what we already know in our hearts. We think that we are above so much, that we are the center and the all. That life is all about us. We flatly deny or qustion a supreme being, because we don't want to have to answer to one later.... I choose to believe, because my heart tells me to. 12. My vote goes to Bev. Great service, great suit. Mine took more abuse than Keith Richards on drugs. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  13. I'm as guilty as anyone else of not having a gear check done in the plane. We seem to think it is only for the newer jumpers. I do check my gear pretty religiously on the ground before getting in the plane. But like many, once we are in air....... I think I need to adjust my habits.....complacency kills. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  14. As good lookin as you are, I don't think you need to do anything alone unless you choose to. MY wuffo brother came over from California to see me over the weekend during the boogie. As he was walking around the DZ, he was checking you out and walked into a door. Quite comical. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  15. Civilization is a social disease........and highly overated I might add. There is nothing wrong with a little good natured name calling. However winning a debate or proving a point should not be decided on who has the best insults. In fact the point of debate or discussion is to come to a logical true answer. Too often that truth gets hidden or nudged aside by the sideshow generated by the colorful showmanship of the participants. Take the OJ trial for instance. Occasionally you greenies do jump the gun and cut a thread off before it gets to the maximum level of entertainment value. But never have I seen you prevent someone from presenting their ideas, questions, etc. I could not deal with the level of bashing that goes on at rec.dot. Much of what I see there is the old time skygod egotistical B.S.. I have left drop zones for just that type of negative atmosphere. Nobody was born with a 1000 jumps and having huge jump numbers does not mean you win at the game of life. Teach what you have learned freely, the same as someone else taught it to you. Allow everybody the right to be human and make mistakes. Otherwise when you make a mistake expect to have someone stick it in yer A$#, showing you the same tolerance. Sacarasm is one thing. Hostility is another. There is a fine line between humor and just plain meaness. Just my inane ramblings.. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  16. My vote goes for Lost Prairie. Laid back, no attitudes other than have fun be safe. Great people, great scenery..nothing like it. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  17. Butt ugly!!! I wouldn't wear it to a dog fight.......But I'm partial to neon green and pink....so I could be wrong. Looks good. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  18. No, I meant what did you do that you werew walking through the jungle taking out labs? You one of those "good luck mofos"? JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  19. Oooohh. I like the way you think! JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  20. And what did you do for a living?? JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  21. A recruiter is military speak for: Lawyer, used car salesman, snake oil peddler.....Email Chuck Blue, he can put you in touch with someone who knows skydiving and the Army. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  22. Xtcy would be one of few I have not played with, unless it just came out in the last 13 years since I quit. I loved acid alot. Coke was cool til the jones'in kicked in....but all in all I treated all subatances the same, I abused them. I'd put battery acid in my veins if I thought it woulda gotten me high. Although I had some good times whilst stoned, I don't miss it at all. The best years of my life have been the clean & sober ones. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  23. Well, there was the time that after one of my not so great landings, that I tore the ass out of the spandex shorts I was wearing. I did not notice it unitl someone asked me if I felt a breeze....as I was laying on my canopy packing it......Thankfully no video coverage.. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  24. The Sprectre seems to be a real popular choice with camera flyers. I have not played on one other than one jump and I was not impressed with the flare that much. I do love my Cobalt. I've never been slammed yet. I have had line twists, my own fault. By pulling down on a riser the canopy straightened out and flew level, letting me kick out with ease. I had a camera on at the time. I would also suggest the Samurai. The openings are fast, but soft. Hard to explain, you'd have to jump it. JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
  25. Well you got me curious Tree. I'm not scrapping with you but enlighten me. Another odd design?? Which of Atair's other chutes would you consider odd? The Cobalt and Comp Cobalt are matches for any canopy in their classes. I don't find anything odd or a few years behind on either of them. What are you comparing them against? What features are years behind or odd? So long as we are not talking cross braced, I'd choose a Cobalt or a Samurai over any other canopy out there right now. I compared against Safire, CF1, Stilletto etc demoed whatever I could lay my hands on......what was considered to be the main chutes. I liked the Cobalt. What are you considering state of the art? Xaos? Velocity? VX? Vengenance? They have all been out on the market a few years, based on ideas that have been rehashed and tweaked. If the Onyx is different from what is being sold right now, I would not say if qualifies as behind nor odd. I'd be interested in what you base this on. I'm currently scraping cash together for another second rig, and was seriously considering cross braced. I was waiting for the Onxy or Big Air's newest one, based on what I saw and liked from their 9 cell, ellipticals. So educate me and save me from what I'm missing. Seriously. You took a devil's advocate position here...and boldly I might add. Instead of going with the crowd here, you made a statement. I have valued all the info I have ever gotten from these forums, so please.... JJ JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
