There are addictions...and then there are real addictions. As a recovering Alkie, I'll take the meetings over the alternative. Being a drunk/druggie at the level I was simply not acceptable. Yet, smoking cigarettes is also an addiction. People die of it daily...yet it is by far and away more sociably acceptable. Nobody can diagnose any addiction except the person who has it. (Other people are entitled to their opinions on your addiction, but you are not going to do anything about it until you decide it is a probelm. My rule is that whatever you think you are addicted to must have in some way imbalanced your life...taken you away from being whole. If it prevents you from having a complete life...it is a problem. I know work-aholics, religous addicts, food junkies...you name it. Anything that you can feel good from or escape into can become an addiction. Also think of it this way. Somebody say, who drinks normally......probably never asks themselves if they have a drinking problem. Someone who has stepped over the line a few times....probably has a reason to ask themselves if they have a problem. For me it was a simple choice. My pursuit of drugs/alcohol cost me more than I was ever willing to gamble with. Apply the same philosphy to anything: Has my eating cost me more than I was willing to lose? Has my smoking cost me more than it was worth?...same thing. The addicition process starts in the head and heart. The actual thing (drug, booze, food, whatever) is just the symptom. I was kinda lost there. It says it has characteristics of a fluid, as in it flows..but without resistance. Kinda hard to get a visual on that. Was also curious what could be done with such a substance? With all the options it opened, the only thing I could think about was to make a suit out of it for invisibility. Hell no! I am the stinkiest bastard on the planet and proud of that shit. I enjoy clearing a room. I even have my own scale: J1 to J5....A J5 is called the "The pits of Hell". In order to get a J5 a person smelling it must actually vomit. A gag knocks it down to a J4. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Doing it by skydiving really does not hurt the sport. You'll be forgotten as a statistic within a month. The hurt you cause is only to those who care about you. If this is a troll it is in bad taste. Suicide is pretty ugly under any circumstances and pretty unforgivable. An iversion layer probably is pretty rare. I took a friend of mine for a Tandem in March here in Illinois a few years back. Temp on the ground was 30 ish. When we opened the door at 10.5K, even with the wind whippping around you could feel the warmth. Really cool. Never felt anything like it. About nil wind on the ground as well.
