Well I didn't have time to post much while in raeford.. but the trip back I was thinking about hol a good bit. Lou and I talked about winning the lottery after passing a "lotto" sign, I remember talking to hol about winning the lottery she said she would buy her own purple skyvan and pay to fly all her friends in to jump on it.. i saw a truck that said "St Germain Trucking" and thought about how she told me about the artist "st germain" who she had been listening to at the DZ. We talked a lot on the phone, she was always cheery.. I was the first to tell her she made it in parachutist and she was so happy.. *sigh* i never did get to meet her, and didn't have any near future plans but was always trying to talk her out to the east coast. She was so excited about moving to CA always talking about learning to surf (in the water). She was someone close to me and I will definately miss her. I'll have to go back and re-read some PMs she sent me.. *sigh* I don't know why i'm telling you guys all of this, I guess I just wanted to convey what everyone already knows -- Hol was one rockin chick, I know of no enemies she has... Again, Hol - I know you're up there surfing DZ.com.. keep in touch girl you can ride my back on any dive. BTW - anyone know about memorial funds, funeral arrangements, etc?

I prefer to pack mine in airport terminals.. i can't wait till my next flight, I'll have my USAF suit with me ha ha (yes this was a joke)

i'm planning on making that suit my experimentation suit.. planning on experimenting with lights in the wings, do more smoke jumps with it, etc... christan has demo suits .. try one out! (i don't think mine would fit you.. small height diff between us.. hehe) If i'm out there this weekend you can take a gander at the fabric but my rigger used to be an airbrush artist and he said the stuff wouldn't stick...

My own secret recepie :) been doing a bunch of research.. i'll be testing today (test fabric comes today)... i'll probably have it out at the dz this weekend.. though weekend weather looks crappy thinking about going to raeford or cross keys

Back in the good old days I used to pack a loose knit sock with flour and tape it to my ankle. Worked pretty good for cheap and easy smoke for demos. In fact, I've been thinking of trying for a similar thing for wingsuit flights .... Any ideas as to best way to fix a flour filled sock to the suit? fergbird how did you attach it before?? Only thing I can think of off hand is to tape it to the top of your foot.. that is much more doable than a 10lb bag of flour :) i actually thought about trying that one once... beats the 26.00 can of smoke. Airbrush scallops? Huh? Don't know what you mean but at any rate you can't airbrush on this fabric it won't stick :) can't silkscreen on it either based on what the people I talked to said..

OKay i got my new birdman suit in, all aluminized silver.. i ordered it this way with the intention of putting USAF graphics on the wings (front and back) and "rescue" arrows on the legs pointing to the cutaway handles.. kicking around the idea of having "NO STEP" on the tail wing on the back of the wing.. not sure on that one.. At any rate, i'm having trouble deciding if I want to go with Option 1 or with Option 2 So what do you guys think?

Uh... yeah i don't think that will work well with BM suits.. i've done smoke with BM but with skydiver smoke (see my post in G&R).. the skydiver smoke i've used really sucks. the flour people use is a *10 lb bag* they duct tape it to their leg and cut a slit on the end.. i don't think that will work with BM and it would be a big mess too i'm sure kevin

I actually was at uspa this week testing the site.. i mentioned that they should put a disclaimer the skydivingweather site is an external site.. i don't think SW.com will complain about being linked though.. still nice to get permission

So a friend of mine is going to the CSS easter boogie.. i remember a valid point made by diverdriver a while back that when a DZ is in financial "trouble" it would be a valid concern as to how the maintinace on the jump ships is. I remember a comment by some other jumpers that they wouldn't get in an aircraft owned by a particular person because of maint. concerns.. So, can a jumper just go up and ask to see the maintinace records and expect to see them or what ? Just curious Kevin
