Yeah me and Nate Tucker were doing that back in ~2004ish.. to get off we'd have the guy on bottom just close up his wings and the guy on top would just fly off. Also for the actual initial transition flying over top as opposed to sliding in worked a lot better too. Its fun!

That almost seems grounds for false advertising... its such a major piece of their "demos" and ads...

VadoHD from creative. Its funny they use a skysurfing video in their ad/demo, but I find it hard to believe that clip was shot with this product - though I could be wrong. Has anyone played with one of these? What kind of mount would you think would be good for this???

Seems like I saw someone post on here about a boot / split / crutch thing that put your leg at a 90 degree angle and basically gave you a peg leg.. it allows for the person with the broken leg to be much more mobile than with crutches. I can't figure out the name of that product. Anyone know what i'm talking about?

I saw some postings on facebook that STS-125 has been postponed a week. Can't find any confirmation of this, anyone know if that is good info or not?
-
Anyone on here a regular there? I didn't see a calendar on the website, was curious if there were any events coming up.

Nah, they're probably like "why did he put that flying squirrel in his pants??" :)

I remember back in the day when everyone was paranoid to jump a wingsuit.. and now I'm seeing so many people jump them... I think that is awesome, I'm curious what the big curve is as far as the year people started jumping the suits.. Posting your memories of your first jump experience and year are encouraged! (For me, Jari was throwing me out of an Otter in Orange, VA in a GTI I think it was.. I believe circa 2001 - 2002)

So, I haven't bought skydiving stuff in a while now.. got on square 1 and saw this video out.. I can't recall seeing another skydiving video that was $80.00 like this! Is that a typo? Is there some special hidden footage included in that ?? edit to add: oh wait, I found another one :)

I don't think they have in the past.. but its been years since i've been there.

Can anyone recommend a good rigger in the Oklahoma City Area? No one at Oklahoma Skydiving answers the phone and there is no e-mail listed on their website (and the one listed here for them doesn't work)

Flyin Bob told me he made reservations at the LaQuinta in Webster, not the Hilton with the group rate. No prob, we'll get everyone in to the pool party anyways! What was the group rate at hilton??

Well sounds like I might be one, you in? :)

Well I made hotel reservations yesterday... so if someone is looking to split a room lemme know... i went years ago when Tamer and I were the only wingsuit flyers there and had a good time. Landing at nasa is pretty slick.

flybirdman.com has been around in some form or fashion since 2003 when I first started flying wingsuits. I figured the word "birdman" would become synonymous with wingsuit flight. I created it because I wanted it to be the single best resource for all wingsuit information to include interactive suit reviews and a place for fellow wingsuiters to hang out. I think in the beginning FBM was doing some pretty innovative things with respect to the sport, however this site was created as a hobby. I've changed jobs, changed locations, and have drastically reduced the amount of free time i've had to dedicate to the site. Combine that with the huge increase in numbers of suit designs and vendors it was just way too much to stay on top of. With that being said, i'm in the process of moving hosting of my web content to a new server and will be decommissioning flybirdman/flywingsuits.com I hope the site was helpful for some over the years and do feel bad about not updating it in forever. I think there is still a "market" so to speak for a similar website, and would love to see one designed. See you guys in the air!

Yo Phil, did you ever mail that DVD? :)

TWA Wingsuit Weekend April 5-6 @ Skydive Houston (Waller, TX)
kevin922 replied to moonglo's topic in Wing Suit Flying
At what point on Sunday did it turn beautiful? I was flying down and ended up landing in Dallas because of the IFR conditions in Houston.. when did it clear? -
Hey, I'll be in town (broomfield) April 28 - May 2nd.. without a rental. Anyone interested in doing a jump or few during the week? I'm not sure what my schedule will be till I get there but curious if anyone would be willing to provide transportation to the DZ

Has anyone noticed very annoying hangs occuring when navigating through DZ.COM? I've noticed that it keeps hanging trying to reference exponential.com and fastclick.net or fastclick.something... i know that those sites are for ad revenue but man they seem to be hanging up the performance of dz.com.. anyone else seen it?
