Bail out, or land with the plane?

Right, I agree. What I wrote only pertained to the specified scenario. -
Bail out, or land with the plane?
beowulf replied to JohnRich's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I agree, but John Rich seems to be advocating exiting the plane right away in the scenario described with out waiting for any input from the pilot. The scenario he described has plenty of time to wait for pilot instructions. It's not at a critical altitude and there is no structural failure that is causing the plane to descend quickly and uncontrollably. In that scenario it is highly unlikely that the pilot is not going to relay instructions with in a reasonable time frame. -
Preemptive Question #2: Natural vs Artificial
beowulf replied to dmcoco84's topic in Speakers Corner
Well I prefer natural breasts, but I won't complain about either. Ok, sorry not the question you asked. Any way to answer your question I need to understand what you mean by natural and artificial. For Gov to be artificial I guess it would have to be initiated by an outside source and not by humans. Other wise it's a natural progression of human evolution. -

I agree with this statement. What I don't agree with is that the situation you described and the what happened in the MI incident qualifies as an extreme situation that requires quick thinking and action. And I can say that because I have been in that situation and there was plenty of time to wait and see what the pilot wanted us to do. No need to panic and rush for the door as you seem to be advocating. -

I think you are overeacting. Considering the altitude and the circumstances of the incident. There was no need to panic and exit the plane quickly. I have been in a situation almost exactly like that one and unless the plane is going down quickly I didn't see any reason to not wait for instructions from the pilot and in that situation it's the right thing to do. -
Dumbasses that are incapable of learning from the far too many mistakes of the past are doomed to being dumbasses forever, and get to live in the chinese version of hell..... may they live in "interesting times" let's hope israel learns how to make peace soon then... Uh yeah like the Palestinians know how to make peace!

Bail out, or land with the plane?

Well, I have been in just about this exact situation. Except that the pilot did eventually give us instructions and it happened at 10,000 feet. We all bailed out at about 9,000 feet single file orderly exit as instructed by the pilot. While the pilot definitely had his hands full, he wasn't so distracted that he couldn't give us instructions. Oh yea, it got very quiet when the engine quit and the prop was locked in place. So there was no trouble hearing the pilots instructions. -
Right, the hard part isn't implementing change it's getting everyone to agree to it.

Do you think it would have made any difference either way?

Now I have to draw line there! You have to at least step it up to Miller lite, at the minimum!!

I think knowing the author is certainly a big step ahead of the Bible. The whole premise of the story is plausible, while much of the Bible is not.

Great reply! How long did take you to come up with that? If there is no evidence then it's just a fantasy and that is all that Christianity is a fantasy.
-
With out evidence it's just fantasy.

I have the insert so they do get really close to my eyes. They didn't have a the non insert lenses available till after I bought mine. Eventually here I am going to either send mine back in and have the lenses replaced with prescription or just buy a new set. I checked with them and my prescription will work for that. Wish I had ordered then after they came out with the non insert version. Call them to make sure and get the skydiver discount.
-
I don't have my prescription here with to compare. My left eye is worse then my right and I think it's like Sphere + 7. Not sure about that and my right is about +4 or so. It's just a guess. The Liquid's are much higher quality then the Wiley-X's. I don't notice any distortion.

That is what you want to think. At the time I did not have the motivation to quit. That is why it was deliverance. It makes no sense to think any differently. If you didn't have the motivation to quit they you wouldn't have quit. To say that an imaginary being made you quit your addictions doesn't make any sense. Especially since there is no evidence that this imaginary being exists at all. You want to believe so you do, despite the lack of evidence.
-
Umm yes you did "deliver" yourself from your addictions. You used religion as a motivation, but it was all you. It doesn't take great intelligence to do it. Just strong motivation. Many people never find strong enough motivation to deal with their addictions.

Having you been watching a few too many Transformers cartoons?!
