    Great job Bill. Airmail told me (on the 8th) about the save. On my ride home from Rantoul I thought about it. I was and am so very impressed with this selfless act. It made me think of my days in the Infantry. At that time I thought that if I had to, that I could lay my life down for my buddies. But, I never got to see if it were true. And conversely, Would any of my buddies lay it all out on the line for me? Looking back, I can only surmise that one may have and that is at best a guess. Something awful could have happened but that didn't stop you. Way to be Bill. Way to be.

    No, but I went to his funeral. He cut away too low. His wife had died the year before and I think that he didn't want to live anymore.

    One time at break-off, another jumper and myself were just staring at each other, lost track, finally turned, tracked, waved and pulled. We both deployed our mains at 1,000 ft. Very dumb, I know. That was early in my career. Hasn't happened since.
