Yes. The brand of AAD doesn't matter in this situation. What matters is the location of the cutter. Gotcha. Thanks for the knowledge everyone -

Depends on the rig. In some brands the cutter is at the base of the loop so when the reserve is out, the loop is still in the cutter. In other rigs, the cutter is on one of the flaps, so the flap moves off the loop when the pilot chute jumps out or the freebag is pulled out. Then the cutter would close and cut nothing. Have a rigger show you some day if you can, to understand the internal parts of rigs better. ah gotcha. Everybody's response makes sense. I'll try to find a way to see the difference. Is it the same for Vigils as well? -

Nope. My closing loop was not cut. Then I'm slightly confused. From what I understand, that would mean it was NOT a Cypres fire. Am I correct in that? Or can a Cypres fire w/o cutting the loop? (not specifically asking for an answer from the OP just happen to be using her quote so I can learn) -
I remember seeing a picture somewhere of a dog at a boogie with a go pro on and a sign saying "Show me your boobies". Not sure where tho. I think it was in Blue Skies mag awhile back.

Everybody signs up by themselves no preset teams. The DZ takes all the people & looks at their jump numbers & tries to make relatively even teams balancing experienced & non-experienced jumpers in each team. That's what makes it a scramble. The rest of the competition is like regular RW competition. But what's nice about it is that you don't have to form your own team. It's a good start into competition.

A bunch of DZ's will host various scrambles events. I think they're so much fun. The teams are chosen to have a balance of new jumper & old jump with a really experienced captain. You get to meet new people & compete in a fun atmosphere.

We have a skydiving club at the University of Florida. I went to a meeting to learn more about doing a tandem just to cross it off the list. By the end of the meeting I decided "fuck that I'm doing AFF" I ended up as President before I graduated.
