i thought about doing that to my fx, but now it is sold, and i am buying avx. i just was wondering if the xaos 21 was really all that different from the fx. later

no, my dad's dz closed down (no more free jumps ) i jump at Skydive Wayne County, which was aerodrome skysports, which was Waynesville Skydiving were my dad first started skydiving. but waynesville skydiving moved to richmond, indiana. but it's been the same owners all along (steve and Janie Stewart), but now they have pasted off to their daughter Jamie. but i choose this dz because they were old friends of my dads (and have known me since i was 3). later

ok, usually i would agree with garywainwright on this subject, but i hate safire 1's. i really don't think there a good canopy at all. so i would say go with a crossfire 1 of the same size if you can find one. i wouldn't recomend downsizing. but there are othere canopies out there too, the PISA hornet is a really good canopy. the sabre 2 is good. i haven't heard anything bad or good about the safire 2, so i couln't tell you anthing about it. but the PISA hornet i do know will cost you the least. and if your looking to downsize, it would be a really good canopy to go to. the openings are great, great flare, great glide. just a really good all around canopy. but this is just my opinion and opinions are like assholes...............everyone has em...........and the all stink!! later

Anyone knows who manufacture the alpha?

skygod7777 replied to kurupeeblas's topic in Gear and Rigging
ok, i knew about the space and alpha. they are the same people who used to make the viper, kiss, and V.I.P that were all the same. they were sold by skydepot. my dad used to be a dealer. i had no idea about the NZ Aerosports Alpha. but what your saying is the NZ Aerosports one is no longer in production. later -

good place to buy outerwear (ski stuff, etc)?
skygod7777 replied to mountainman's topic in The Bonfire
why, u going skiing?? or u buying stuff for winter jumping. r u comin out to the dz anytime soon??? i need some help with some spanish....................just kidding. later -
what's up now i jumped the xaos 27, and i really liked it. but i thought it was very comparible to the vx, with lighter front riser pressure, but heavier rear riser pressure, and a longer snivel. now i know that most people have had a bad experience with a vx on opening, but that problem has been tamed down. so my question is, is the xaos 21 a whole lot different than the fx???? i may jump one just for the fun of it, but i don't have the extra money right now to spend it on a demo canopy. later

well HAPPY THANKSGIVING to u to, and to EVERYONE else. later

dan there is a very good reason for this. the safire is made for a person just off student statis. not for a person that wants load up a canopy at 2 to 1. and also, if you look on icarus's web sight the canopy is only designed to handle wing loadings of .75 to 1.6. So that would explain your bad landings i personally think the safire isn't the greatest canopy in the world. but if your at a light wing loading, it is a decent canopy, but like dan said, there are better canopies out there now. later

i would tell him because my buddy jason broke his back, and there was a guy had a dream with somthing like that happening to my buddy (jason). the dream was they saw jason laying in a field (like he was after he broke his back) but they weren't sure if he was hurt in the dream or if he was just laying there. and then then the jason had a dream that he had a cutway. and before jason went up, his pack job went to hell as he put it in the bag, and he look at me and said "should i redo it," and i said "oh hell you never redo it, just shove it in the bag" well jason had a cutaway, then on landing he broke his back under his piece of crap reserve that he had. when it stalled at half brakes. karma is a freaky thing. later

Standing up rear riser landings
skygod7777 replied to scott2002's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
***Have you seen someone finish a landing successfully without a transition to toggles?*** actually i have. steve O, i have seen do this with his crossfire. he hooked, started on rears risers, and went all the way to the end with them. now he had to run like a bat out of hell, but he did it. now this landing technique is usally done with transitioning to toggles to slow down to a stop, or close to a stop. later -

Standing up rear riser landings
skygod7777 replied to scott2002's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
no, the stall point on rear risers is much faster than with toggles. later -

i've done it, but it was a while ago. i did it in tennessee. but it was over a large air-filled crash pad. i wouldn't do it with out something like that under me. i just don't like the idea of the rubber band saving me from hitting the ground. later

i jumped a 89 sq ft one a while back. i had no problem from getting back from a long spot. i had a wing loading of 2.1 on it. i also am borowwing a 105 crossfire 2 from my buddy until i get my vx in. later
