Hey cool!! Thanks for the post on this. Where did the clicky go??? See what thread??? This really is a fun jump for all involved. There has been a new tradition come from this. The ladies started putting the raffle winner in the front of the plane. before the 2 minute they have the winner male or female crawl across everyones lap to the tail and get a spanking before the exit. Really quite funny on video. Some day I will get my Patch I never bought raffle tickets because I didnt want it to be a conflict....... Hmmm after four years of this I wonder if anyone would object?? I want my Patch and my spankin. Did i say that outloud? Thanks again

Even if the lines are "out of trim" should that affect the material going through the slider? Shouldn't the stops do just that STOP?? Maybe they need to install some or lower the ones that are there? Why wouldnt they put stops there anyway??? I wonder how many are packed like that and the user is not aware.. These are just questions, I'm not a rigger just curious.

Ok I have a problem.. I have been doing a lot of traveling for the past two years to a number of boogies. Its not till after I leave that I discover that half of the folks from here (dz.com) that I have never met or didn't realize that I have met were there. So dammit I want to meet all of you!! Especially at an event that I organize, that would be just Wrong if I didn't!! So how do we fix my problem???? How do I recognize all of you? How do you see me? Do I ask at registration if you are a DZ.commer and give you a second or different wrist band???? Or do dz.commer's just go topless??? I like that one.....well except AggieDave I know him. For our family we use the third weekend of July which occasionally falls on Jerry's birthday the 23rd. We didnt plan it that way it just happened. In 1971 one of Jerry's students taged himself as being one of "Jerry's Kids" it has stuck ever since. Now alot of older and some newer ones use that and it touches my heart everytime. SkyFest is a celebration of his life and what he gave to the sport for 41 years. There are a ton of fallen greats that we include as well. We usually have a few old timers hanging out just cause they know and understand what it is about. Our "history" is dying off, PLEASE take advantage of the experience, if you are lucky enough to have one of the pioneers around you. I hope this doesnt come across as an advertisement for SF 05, this is from the heart and ALL of the Pioneers deserve MORE that what we can give them. So if I may I would like to add this thought: Waste not a moment searching for my grave, To the boundaries of earth, I will be no slave. Instead, look up on any given day, Along side the clouds is where I will play. As the sun goes down and day turns to night, Across the stars of the Milky Way, I will take flight. Its amazing my years in the sport that has never changed. It only happens to newbies Be patient my friend, it gets better, and it happened to ALL of us. Just hanging out is a great way to learn as you seem to have discovered already!

CRAP My best was 450 2 years in a row! Thats what a camera and a team will do for you. Oh and living on the DZ running the gear store, and my favorite .....jumping with the newbie....but i always paid for the newbie jumps.... while the others my slot was covered. I landed in Ted Strongs back yard lake on the 4th of July 2003 AND my favorite was my fathers ParaPlane SN 0001 made by Steve Schneider in the security container I think those date back to the late 60's early 70's. I stood that one up in the peas twice. Dont try these at home!! I had many very qualified people and training to pull these off!!

So Thursday night I swing by Z hills on the way home. Had a few to drink and agreed to jump The Unit on Friday!!!! All talk right, well I continued to drink and got more liquid courage to the point that I have now agreed to jump it in its original container and round reserve. So I go home and pass out at about 2:30 am! I wake up feeling like sh.....!!! Thinking well atleast i didnt wake up sticky, broke, and confused!!! ( I just love that saying dont know why??) But wait, did i say i was going to jump some old gear......No way scr.w... that.... Well thought about it a little longer and said why not its a great to die right!!(j/k) So i head to the DZ and find the owner of the gear and asked to see it again.. Damm I thought, it looked in better shape last night. I checked it out and said wtf, now remember I only did a gear check never saw the main or reserve. I put the reserve handle back in place and put it on. Then put the handle back again. I couldnt tighten the legstraps (harness way to short) risers kept falling off to the side and the chest strap was only what seemed to be 4 inches long. Had to roll shoulders together and grab both MLW just to get it routed. Ok its on ....put r. handle back in place, why not give it a shot.. Zero winds great for spotting the reserve. Ok 26' Lopo DOM 3-1979 Spring pilot chute DOM 1959 Stingray container by GQ Security DOM 3-1979 Main The Unit DOM 4-1979 ( hey its a b day!) SO I manifest for me and a camera man for a H"N" P I arrange for a ground cameraman for landing shots, he looks at the gear and says " are you going to put the reserve handle back in place before you jump it?" I said at least 3 more times Climb in plane, but not before being nervous and putting the R. handle back in place. Short ride to 5k...thinking dammit that was quick. So i give myself another gear check and low and behold the chest strap has routed itself halfway back through the hardware!!!!!! Holy CRAP!!! The fold on the strap did not exist, scared the you know what out of me. So I pull it as tight as i can then looked at the legs..they were all the way to the fold, i thought hmmm nope pull em tighter even though my legs were already squeezed, but i will deal with it. I figure if i am not in the harness what good is the parachute...right??? So out the door I WENT!! It opened...well most of it!! It took 800' to get the end cells to stay open... Now at about 4k about 2 fields off the DZ. So I start to learn the canopy, turns, flare.....no no stall just got it to start but thought nope not gonna do it. Flying around back to dz, do a couple of turns then looked closer at the canopy and found atleast six 2" HOLES...oK so I wont put it under to much pressure and take it easy, looked up again and saw what looked like Blood all over one cell, nose to tail!!! Ok now I am nervous!!! So I look down I am at about 2800 directly over the top.....hmmmmm do i really want to land this thing, will it stay together??? Many other things went through my head.. I know..... I will chop it and go to the 26' lopo, I have spotted it well I might even hit the peas!! What the f.. are you thinking J its a 1959 Pilot chute and its round and your ankle doesnt need that!! So I look back up and say to The Unit, we need to talk!! We had a nice talk and decided that we could do this. I set up on final perfect for the peas..but then hit two massive thermals and up I went...crap!!! So i 'S' it off to loose the alti. but I really wanted one more S turn but decided that i didnt know how it would "pull" out of it and needed to think about the flare. I overshot the peas by about 50' ground coming up fast, I was thinking.....mommy .....!!! can I just lift my legs and it all go away???? Please, ground go away, go away!!! I flared and stood it up and screamed in excitement. Then I got down on my knees and kissed the ground!!!! End of Story!! Thanks to Roy, Brian, and even Peter who owned the gear and got me drunk!! i think Just wanted to share!

Perry has told me that it will be a wingsuit blow out! Come check out the new stuff!
