  1. It started off with the RV crapping out (see photo) but it ended up great! I rented a Harley for a day and enjoyed the area. But there was something shiny and I decided to touch it with my leg, then again the next day So I now have an official Sturgis tattoo (exhaust burn). Did Demo jumps into the Glenco and the Full throttle. But my favorite so far is the 1950 T6 Oops got to go do another jump, be back soon.
  2. Did anyone else notice that Tony's are the only ones in the air?? Well that makes sense, he spent more time there.
  3. Nice! Good Idea 2005 Moab SunRise, and we both know those are harder to get Hmmm Where's my Sd Dallas Sunset?? Some great shots folks!

  6. So Im on my way to Sturgis for the chance to jump over bike week. Stopped in Colorado at a camp site with the RV. Just finished with steaks on the grill, and down goes the sun. Been on the road since April will return in November. Times like these is what keeps me on the road. Thought I would share.
  7. We have Jumbos for fat asses.... But I got dips on one of um.... Floats 18 get's the T-10 (evil laugh) Not the fatass problem, its a shattered ankle. Shoved the Fib/Tib thru the bottom and side of the foot 14 years ago. its trying to fuse itself, about 30% mobility. Now can I get a harness???
  8. I will have a few Sun Path demo rigs with me. Guess I will finally have to meet you eh? Good for a round jump but not landing it. Got a paper bag and an extra harness? Last time I nearly got my legs caught in the lines as I went head down tossing the bag. Fun jump. JR Prater Stratostar Jugglo Floats 18 Armour666 Bolas UpNDownshop
  9. Really, really fat biker women showing their "teats". Been there one too many times. Where? The women or Sturgis?
  10. Yes! My RV will be done at 1:00 today! So I will leave Colorado in the morning to Sturgis. Just need a bike dammit!!!!
  11. Yeah, letting go of the bike is like asking for the wife eh? Well, my Murano has a sunroof guess that will have to do..
  12. hope you can make it!!! We do have a both in the full throttle so come find us. Now If I could just find a ride
  13. Mary Thank you for your kind words. Its stories like this that make it worth all the effort. What you described is exactly why we do this event. Your support means more than you know. Thank you for help keeping Jerry's legacy alive. We now have over 21,000 skydives made during its 7 year history with only a broken leg. Which happened in free fall with two National Champions. Knocking on wood. Of course I was nervous this year but all went well. Thanks again J
  14. A few things have changed. No Mullins King Air, we have the Beech 99 14K in ten minutes!. We have openend it up as a boogie, no registration. The amenitites will be weak but we will do the best we can for everyone. Things got stirred up at the last minute so we are doing the best we can. We want to make sure we can cover the cost of the AC. This is a very unique chance to make a jump during bike week so we hope we can pull this off and come back next year. Wish us luck. Thanks for your suggestions, I will hit them all. be safe J
  15. Hey yall! when ya get done with Summerfest head to Sturgis. We have a Beech 99 no registration fee Aug 6th to the 12th. www.skydivesturgis.com We are jumping during bike week. A once in a lifetime opp. We take off 3 miles from the full throttle saloon......wonder what that means?
  16. Buffalo Chip eh? Ok will do. The airport we will be taking off from is three miles from the full throttle bar. So what does that mean, oh goodness bad spot, sorry I landed on your 20 acres of flat land, may I have a beer? lol Wonder who will pack? They are expecting 750,000 to pass thru this year!!! whhoooo hooooo!!
  17. I cant wait!!! Will be loading up the RV hopefully by Friday. Its in the shop getting the generator repaired. Bad news is that a buddy from Dallas was going to bring his second Harley up for me, he is now having some Kidney problems. Dammit! I told him to grab some water and get on his way.... No, its nothing serious he will be ok, just needs time to heal. So who can bring me a bike? I will buy you a skydive from the Beech 99 we will be flying? Me thinks we will need plenty of O2 for all that extra altitude we will get. Never been to Sturgis, really looking forward to it. Anyone got any tips or suggestions for places to see? hope to see ya'll there J
  18. Do you think a skydiving helmet, like a full face bonehead or a Oxygen can provide that protection? You end up in comavill from your brain getting bashed around inside your skull right? I think my bonehead does a great job against protecting me from scrapes and bumps, but I don't really see the padding keeping me from getting a serious injury like a foam bike helmet can. Yes! A good SD helmet can save your life on a bad landing. I have seen it multiple times. Are they designed for that? NO IMO the Oxygen is probably the strongest helmet for that. I have seen it save a few lives. The helmet was destroyed each time but the jumpers lived and recovered. IMO all SD helmets should be full face, no matter what your flying preference is. So land safe and fly safe J
  19. Man, I think this has the potential to be one of the greatest boogies ever! Combining a skydiving boogie with one of the largest-attended events in the world has a great time written all over it (Oh yeah, and having a kick-ass jump plane certainly helps too )! Thats what I am talking about!! Oshkosh is the only thing even close to this. I am jazzed about jumping over Sturgis, what a log to add to the book! hope to see you there J
  20. Keith how do we get Smitty's car? Give me a call when you get a chance, you need to call Lambert at USPA for the article thanks
  21. This is possibly a once in a life time opportunity!! lets do this right so we can come back. Sorry folks, no luck on the pitts, still working on Norman Kent. Folks, this is a situation if you have to tent it, drag it, sleep in the car, or just bag it, DO IT! This doesnt happen often. We will be trying to put together a "little" party at some log cabins one night. Did I mention that they are 4 miles from Mt Rushmore? Bonfire, beer and dead presidents, what more could you ask for? we do apologize for the short notice on this, but hey give us a break......its Sturgis!!!!
  22. Norman Kent told me a great story of how he got his start at Muskogee. he basically lied to channel 8 news that he knew how to use their camera so he got to take it up. Of course prior to the jump he spent an hour learning about the camera in his van. he tells it better but it is a great piece of our skydiving history. Wonder where Smitty the jumpers car is at? I have many polaroids of him and his car.
  23. Chris: Your question was VERY valid, I asked the same question. Why a $3.00 increase (fuel I was told) in 2006 and asked again this year. SF ONLY received $1.00 from the $3.00 they claimed we were getting. Your points are both correct and incorrect. This also applies to Nathan. I want to thank you both for your honest support of SF, and I too would ask the same questions if I was in your shoes. Jim: Spaceland was a great part of our history, I am sorry that your DZ could not take advantage of the "fund raiser" benefits from your community. Muskogee and other Municipalities across the country and regular DZ's do recognize how to work the public in a way to "lower" costs for the jumper. Things like a new runway could possibly be a "write off" if done correctly, or atleast a keg of beer. Again we loved being at Spaceland and will miss it. Since you have opened yourself up to "educate" the public would you please mind going into more detail of the numbers you speak of? I am sure the skydiving community would love to have a lesson on "how to run a boogie"(September 2006 Issue of SD Magazine) from a premier DZ like SD Spaceland. I for one would love to understand the inner dealings of how to make it profitable. I understand you have a great tool that we could work from, your spreadsheet. Would you mind posting that so maybe DZ's and event organizers could use it to learn how to budget and finance their event. Heck if done right I bet you could get it printed so folks across the world could do a better job in the future. Thus of course adding to your true support of the SF event as you mentioned earlier. And of course teaching DZ's across the world how to make money, thus adding to our sport. I am sure that there are more that would love to learn from the 7 years SF has been in existance and from a very successful 9 (is that right?) year old DZ? Thank you Jim for your support and I look forward to hiring your AC in the future. Oh By the way, we do have something in common: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ me neither Jim....... Thank you all J Schrimsher
  24. Nice job. Congrats! Must be a great feeling. Those are great people to be around. I was lucky enough to see them just a couple of weeks ago. Welcome to the sport and what a great way to get started. J
  25. 305 Reg, making just over 3000 jumps. The way we started: 63 by Wed, 150 by Thurs. nite and 200 by 10:00 am Friday morning, really thought we would have hit 400. I have to be grateful that we stayed the same as last year. 18 mfrs. showed up Folks from 11 countries were there. That was nice. I made o jumps!! First tme ever I have not jumped at the event, I never expect to get to jump much but this nuts. Many thanks to all for supporting SF. I am in Muskogee Ok., just finished a meeting with the FBO, Chamber of Commerce, Public Works, and Economic Development discussing SkyFest! This place is huge! 7200' runway, pea pit, 1500 acres of outs! Hotel retail price of $50.00, Casino, Vixens Gentlemans club, liquor store and more, all with in 5 miles of DZ. They are restoring the restaurant and bar. Women and Mens showers Willing to look at RV hook ups (have to locate the old lines) from 20 years ago when USPA Nationals were there. They said sewage would be no big deal. They want us there and are willing to make it happen. So.... Whats next? The aerial shot is only part of the 1500 acres
