You make it sound like that invasion hasn't taken place every summer for my entire life (and a long time before that too). Who would you replace the Governor with? All your former ones are in prison or under indictment. And you are more than welcome to the cheese. There's even a big castle for you to storm right on I-94. (although most of the FIBs are going too fast to see it). "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

Just to throw a little more out there... The article said there was an agreement that if the lawsuit was dismissed, then the dispute would go to arbitration. The new suit is because the mosque refused to participate in the arbitration. The judge ruled that the mosque has to participate in the arbitration, and that the arbitrator would be from the church. At the very end of the article, the judge stated that "Muslim Law" would only apply to the arbitration, and if the suit ended up back in civil court, then Florida law would apply to that. Right now about 3" of new snow I'll get little 3"-4" plants next month when the stores set up their "Garden Departments". They'll sit in my kitchen window until Memorial Day. This far north I really can't put anything in the ground until then. Little tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, brussels sprouts. Maybe some spinach. I don't know exactly. I haven't needed to find out. Some states seem to have it very close to marriage, with licenses, documentation, and processes for termination. Others seem to have it just a simple process of registration of forms. A lot of it (at least here in the US) is for purposes of obtaining employer provided health insurance. And some places allow those "couples of convenience" to get family health coverage by simply signing a form saying that they are a couple (either same-sex or non-married opposite sex) "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." HELP...Does anyone know about a 1960 C-9 28' Canopy
wolfriverjoe replied to nyjoehere's topic in Gear and Rigging
Poynter Vol 1 has a good bit on rounds. I can't find an actual line length chart, but I only took a quick look. It does have details on your C-9. Also know as "The Parachute Manual, A Technical Treatise on Aerodynamic Decelerators." "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Both should be doable. Fading colors and very small detail aren't impossible, just difficult. Find an artist who has done this sort of work in the past. The artists will often specialize in different stuff. One who is great at line detail may or may not be great at color. And vice versa. Honest ones will be open about their abilities and weak areas, and can often suggest another artist who is better in areas that they are not. Do your homework on the artist before you let them go to work. Making sure the artist understands what you want and is capable of doing it is the most important step in getting a good tattoo. Making damned sure that they really, really want it on their body permanently is also important. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Nope. You're not missing it at all. That is the root of the argument. In US federal law there are somewhere in the area of 1100 benefits given to "married couples" and "families." These range from survivor benefits for pensions to discounts to enter national parks. Many "civil union" or "domestic partnership" arrangements aren't eligible for those benfits because the law specifically states "married". So the choice is to rewrite each and every one of the laws, or simply redefine the word marriage in a legal sense. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." If a republican is president, it is evil and illegal to help such people. If a democrat is president, then it is humane and justified to assist them. Interesting. Remember Nerdgirl? She had THIS up on facebook earlier. Rather interesting contrast between the "neocons" and the "liberal interventionists" "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Yeah, it looks like a fun trip. But you have to let your wife drive all the way there, don't you? "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

How much is a "little"? A couple minutes? More than 10? Why was she late? Did she call before curfew time and say she was going to be a "little" late? Is it the first time in a while, or does it happen on a regular basis? Kinda like speeding. The limit is what's posted, but there should be some discretion in the enforcment of it, and the severity of the punishment should be appropriate to the degree of the violation. Edit to add: And like speeding, repeated infractions result in greater punishment. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." I really don't agree. I'm out there all the time. It's how I earn my living. The idiots, selfishly inconsiderate and just plain not paying attention span all ages, both sexes and (apparent) income levels. From a brand new Mercedes S to a mid-80s 1/2 primer pickup. From an old grandma to a teenager with a brand new license (and I can't believe how young some of them look), men, women, and a few that I can't tell and really don't want to look closely at. And the opposite is true too. The drivers who pay attention, drive well and courteously, use their turn signals (and rememeber to turn them off) can be of any age, gender or socio-economic status. The one indicator that I have found is White Cadillacs. From a brand new CTS to a mid-70s Eldorado convertible. From mint condition to barely drivable. With a driver that is old, young, or in between. The white Caddy is the car to watch out for. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." No, they pay her to be mean to them when they want it and how they want it. She also will stop when the money runs out. Being married takes away the when, how and (especially) stop control. No. The violence has escalated so dramatically because the PRI was voted out. When they were in power, the drug cartels had deals in place that gave different groups different territories. The PRI took bribes to allow the cartels to operate freely and used the Mexican army to enforce the deals. When the PRI lost power, the new administration tried to stop the cartels altogether and found out that it was impossible. Without the deals in place the different groups have gone to war against each other. They also aren't seizing "AR-15s". They are seizing full auto M-16s, full auto AKs, M-203 grenade launchers, M-249 and M-240 Machine Guns, along with RPGs, and hand grenades. If you know of a gun store in the US that sells that kind of hardware, I'd really like to know where it is. Most of the weapons come from the Mexican Army. More than a few of the gunmen working for the drug cartels come from there too. They have traced some of the hand grenades back to the US. The problem with blaming the US for those is that they were originally exported to El Salvador in the 1980s. Just because a weapon is manufactured in the US doesn't mean that it came directly from the US. The one exception to this is pistols. Because the Army doesn't use them much, and they aren't available to Mexican civilains, a lot of the pistols the cartels use do come directly from the US. But the vast majority of them are stolen in the US, not purchased legally. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Power tool and closing loop length
wolfriverjoe replied to e.a.hernandez's topic in Gear and Rigging
Power tools simply make it easier on your hands. If I'm packing all day long, "normal" pullup cords chew up the sides of my hands pretty bad. I was taught that if you can close the container with a straight pull, the pin will pull. You simply cannot make it too tight by pulling with your arms. Watch a rigger close a reserve container sometime. Many use a "ratcheting tension device" to make it easier. And it still is only a 22# max pull. Last - Don't wear a powertool around your neck. I see that a lot and it really bothers me. It's not a good idea to put something around your neck that will kill you before it breaks. I use one of THESE when I take my motorcycle to the DZ. Yes, it's "Temporarily Out of Stock", but there's a bunch of similar ones out there. It holds my rig (which isn't a tiny one), jumpsuit, helmet, logbook, atimiter, goggles, shoes, ect. I run the straps all the way out and most of the weight rests on the passenger seat. Everything is enclosed and protected, and the shoulder straps keep it under control and let me know if it is shifting around any. It is fairly heavy, but I don't have any problems with it, other than putting it on. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." What is it with the people that wait until after something bad has happened to make up a story about how they predicted it would happen, just to get some attention? And why do people believe them? I knew someone would come in here and say that. Wow! That's amazing. How did you make such an accurate prediction?? On a serious note, the containment building seems to have collapsed at the nuke plant. The "steel storage machine" (reactor vessel?) is intact for now, but they aren't allowing anyone close and are talking about distributing iodine. Not good. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110312/ts_nm/us_japan_quake "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." What is it about disasters that brings out the nut cases and their conspiracy theories? I've heard that is has a lot to do with the randomness and uncontrollability of them. The "nut cases" are unable to believe that something like this could "just happen", and by "just happening" anytime and anywhere, could happen to them. Therefore, it must be a conspiracy. Or if it is a natural disaster, there must be someone out there who can predict it, and because the method of prediction isn't "mainstream", the person is vilified and outcast by the "establishment". For actions by lone individuals or small groups, the same sort of rationalization applies. Because JFK was such an important person, and had such potential for making the world a better place, it isn't possible for one lone nutcase to have assasinated him. It must have been a huge conspiracy. These nutcases simply cannot accept the randomness and unpredictability of life. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." My dog thinks that's a chipmunk, not a squirrel. And he knows the difference. My great apologies! You are absolutely right. That is a chipmunk. Here is a squirrel. http://www.thirtysomethingblog.com/images/April%202009/4-23-squirrel-peanuts.jpg It wasn't me that was right. It was the dog. And he agrees that the 2nd one is really a squirrel.
