  1. I honestly don't see why someone wouldn't like it!? But to each his/her own I guess www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  2. THANKS MIKHAIL! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  3. I just printed all the forms, Thanks Mike! Edit: Unless I'm reading this wrong, both the Proficiency Card & Progression Card require completion of the A license exam. If all I am trying to do is get my B license with the USPA, am I going to have to take the exam for the A and B??? www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  4. Hey Phil! How's it going? I sure miss the Eden North DZ man...You guys still jumping? The Edmonton office wants me back, but I don't think I can handle the frigid weather through the winter. Especially if I can't jump on my free time. Tell Lyle, Aidan, Olga and everyone else I say hi! It's possible I may see you come next spring. Yeah, it's been raining...but we're suppose to be in the clear for the next week +. Hope to see ya in AZ! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  5. hmmm...well, it would be cool if someone did that for me, but it would be even cooler if they didn't have to and I could just test for my 'B'. There's gotta be someone from the USPA on here that could interpret the SIM ruling... I am definitely ready for my B license (53 jumps in 3 months)...just need to study the SIM a bit. www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  6. I belong to a few sportbike websites where there's a pretty sweet preview function. Is it possible we could incorperate that here? What happens is, you can hold your cursor over the subject line of someone's thread and a small window pops up that has the first few lines of there post. It's very handy and saves time if it's something you really don't want to open and read through or if the subject line is deceiving. Thanks, Justin www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  7. Hey there guys and gals, I got my 'A' license up in Canada while on a work assignment. Now I am back in the US and am getting ready to test for my 'B'. I was told that I can take the USPA 'B' license test with my CSPA 'A' license. I believe the fella who told me is a reliable source, but I read in the SIM that the B license requires a USPA 'A' license. Can anyone shed some light on the whole converting license for me? Much appreciated!!! -Justin www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  8. Hey fergs! I really appreciate the info...Unfortunately, the company I work for wants me to somewhere else. I'm bummed, I was really looking forward to checking out Saudi, neighboring countries, and even short vacas to Europe and such... Sounds like I may got to Florida, which wouldn't be too bad. I found there is about 10 DZ's within 100 miles of the office! Again, thank you I will remember your advice, as I would love to go there someday for work or for pleasure! 9. Kirk, It's the actual clear lexan portion of the visor. Thanks for al the links guys, I'll have to add them to my favorites... www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  10. So, I was out jumping last Saturday and decided to exit with the visor up on my Z1 ...At first I didn't realize what the hell was going on, but knew something was weird. Once I realized it was my visor was up I went to close it. It was like -10f at 13k' so I think the cold had something to do with it cracking when I did not even slam it or anything. Anyways, I was told you can order just the visor. Anyone know a website where I could purchase one? Thanks! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  11. There's a good chance I'll be heading to Al Khobar to work for (possibly) the next year! I looked at the DZ locator and found nothing within 500 miles. I did an extensive web search a couple weeks ago and remember finding a couple DZ's that wouldn't be too far for either a long weekend road trip (not too sure I want to be doing that though) or flying, if it's a reasonable price, for the weekend. I can't believe there's no DZ's near there or even in Bahrain...??? Also, I did find some Saudi Arabian skydivers on Facebook...but they are way over on the other side of the country. Does anyone know what I could expect to pay for short flights in that region? Say if I wanted to go to Dubai or Jeddah for a weekend? Thanks...Any info will be much appreciated!!! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  12. They must have had to do a long cross-country canopy flight to have opened at about 16,000'! Any word on pics or vid? www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  13. Well, I would have called Jerry, but obviously the weather had an agenda that didn't involved us crazy bastards... Hopefully next weekend will be better! I wish my boss would just give me the week off (since I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs). Then I could at least rip down to Cali or Az for a short skydiving vaca! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  14. I took a beginner canopy course put on by Doug Forth up in Alberta. It was very educational, he's a true professional. I just wish I could have stayed for the advanced course... I think the most important thing I learned all day was really the main focus of the beginner course he taught, which was slowing your decent rate, flat turns, etc.. Byt the end of the day we were required to do a cross-country flight. It was roughly 5 miles and we definitely had the wind at our advantage, cause it was bookin! Exited at 6k' and I made it to the holding area above DZ (5 miles) with 3k'+ to play with! hehe www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  15. What up Jerry, You planning on jumping this weekend if the weather cooperates? I'd like to get a couple jumps in one of the days. Where do you go, SDO? www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  16. Hi! This is my first thread here. Thought I would finally introduce myself and stop being a lurker... Haha. Anyways, I'm pretty new to skydiving. I currently have 50 jumps and my CSPA A license. I learned to skydive with the wonderful folks at Eden North just outside of Edmonton, Ab while I was up there on a 3 month work assignment. I got bored after a month and a half and decided to do a solo jump...like most of you, I've been hooked/addicted ever since. I just purchased my first rig and some other gear tidbits. I've been jumping at Skydive Oregon since I returned to my hometown of Portland. I've met several cool peeps out there, but I've only jumped with a few people. In fact last weekend was my first, yes I said the F word, 4-way. I am intersted in anything I can learn. I believe I'm pretty advanced for my 50 jumps as I have done them all within the last 3 months. My RW needs some work, as well as my freeflying. I started doing freeflying and mananged a decent sit, before I realized I should get some RW under my belt before I progress into freeflying too much. I don't want to be one of those skydivers that can freefly their ass off but can't do RW to save their life. So, to sum it up...if you want to get together and make some jumps, whatever your flavor, please let me know! Thanks, Justin www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
