    A good friend doesn't trash his buddy on the Internet even anonymously. As a practitioner of Buddhism and meditation, you should understand the power of how you hold your thoughts. You are holding a lot of negative thoughts about your friend in your mind and empowering them by broadcasting them on the Internet. That's not how a good friend acts. Many--although they tend to "graduate" into more senior roles like manager or CEO when they start dressing better. Most people who dress well tend not to remain as engineers for all that long hence the negative stereotype about engineers. I'm thinking Shah's so in love with his friend that there isn't any woman who is going to be good enough for him. I wonder how long until he realizes there's a real, good old-fashioned, deep sexual attraction to his friend going on in the dark recesses of his mind?? Always be kinder than you feel.

    I can't stand it anymore, I have to ask. What do you consider 'smokin' hot?' You mention this a lot. "Smokin' hot", to me, is someone who is beyond sexy and gorgeous, if only in my eyes. This term I usually reserve for my favorite kinds of guys - think tall, dark and handsome (you know how I dig Andy Garcia looking dudes) and guys who just naturally have the "I'm gonna eff the hell out of you" look when they're talking to you... even if it is just about the weather. I don't know if that was a very good description but it's kinda hard to put into words unless I could point out someone in person or show you a picture.

Single as in monogamous...or single as in ..ahem..self gratification? Single as in just getting under one person. Don't read into it. It is what it is.

    Not telling either way : 0 : 0 Family stuff trumped skydiving again Saturday and today was rainy off and on... I decided to bag the idea of skydiving early in the day and went shopping and to the movies. I did stop at the DZ on my way home, beerlight was on, but I ended up leaving to beat a storm home. I hope it's a good week. I'd like to jump after work...

    How about talking with a therapist so a professional can help you come to an informed decision? Maybe a therapist can help you with feelings or issues that you haven't shared or maybe you're not even aware of yet... I don't know what else to tell you. Cyndi (ILuvToFly) had a good point in the "Unrequited Love" thread and I agreed with her... She said, "I would rather have their friendship then risk trying for more and ruining everything." Since marriage wasn't a primary issue for her, who knows, maybe it won't work out and you'll get your chance down the road. But please make sure you live your life, don't wait around... If you were a girl I would tell you "Don't waste the pretty". Always be kinder than you feel.

    I'm so sorry you're hurting. I wish I could just give you a big hug and tell you everything's going to be okay. How do I deal with heartbreak? Please don't think I'm being a smartass but the last time I had a parting of ways with someone I was seeing, I found the best way to "get over" them (I wasn't in love with them or anything like that - just very casual, more companionship than anything) was to "get under someone else". Worked like a freakin' charm - the sexy times were great. Always be kinder than you feel.
