"Pulling" $100K in New Jersey doesn't cut it to be considered doing really well. You should know that. In your county that's almost poverty level. And it's also really impolite to tell other people what your salary is unless it's a specific topic of discussion and figures are disclosed. There are a lot of people of this board who do what they love and aren't paid jack shit for their efforts. Telling people you make that figure and they way other people feel about you around here aren't scoring you any points. Always be kinder than you feel.

I know people who are booked there and are staying put. It's a little bit of a drive to the airport in Vega Baja but I wouldn't change locations. My line of thinking is why hurt the Arecibo merchants so close to the date of the event? I bet they were counting on us spending our money there as much as we were counting on being in Arecibo again this year. If there's a possibility the boogie could be back in Arecibo next year I certainly wouldn't want to burn any bridges with the hotel people or landlords and not have them rent to us next year for fear of the same situation... Just my two cents.

After the initial shock to my total control freak self with my planning for this trip, I see the many, many positives. It's going to be a great time!! * We're still going to the boogie! * We're still going to be warm and not in NJ freezing our asses off! * We're still going to be seeing old friends and making new friends along the way. * We'll be seeing new areas of Puerto Rico that we may not have encountered until this change. Lots of new restaurants to check out and locals to meet. * I have much appreciation and respect for the work that goes into organizing this event. I work for the government so I understand what a hassle it can be. I'm really glad that the boogie is still a go and I really hope we can all make the best of the changes and still skydive, party and make lots of fun 2010 memories!! ~Karen PS - 22 days 'til San Juan/Arecibo/Vega Baja/Vieques/Rincon Always be kinder than you feel.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Noooo.... no shushing!! Many of us have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on this trip. I'll be pissed if I have to drive 30 minutes the other way from the house I rented near the Arecibo DZ, especially since it's after the time frame that I could've received at least a partial refund for cancelling the house and finding one closer to the other airport, if in fact it has changed locations. Spill it... what do you know? Always be kinder than you feel.

If this is the case I wish they'd make it "official". So glad I rented a house on the beach near the airport in Arecibo. ETA: Another airport surely beats the alternative of no boogie at all. Always be kinder than you feel.

It may be only 27F (feels like 16F) here... Brrrr!!!.... But.... Light blue boy shorts and a white t-shirt. I have the heat cranked to 75 and the fireplace on high because I am practicing for Puerto Rico. Plus, I'm trying on bathing suits again... I have 27 in a pile and I need to cut it down to less than 20, I think... Always be kinder than you feel.

Grandmom Tomasello's meatballs. I can't make them exactly like her's to save my life. God, I miss that extraordinary woman. Roadside stand in Ocho Rios, Jamaica... Best Jerk Chicken ever.. and I HATE really spicy food. This was delicious. Also, the Jamaican Beef Patties. OMG... I am going to be thinking about them all day now!! I intend in finding some little restaurants all over Puerto Rico next month and try out so many different foods. Can't wait!! Always be kinder than you feel.

Life is so good, it worries me sometimes. I have a great wife, so very smart and pretty and lovely and just all around the perfect match for me. I have a good job, she has a good job, we're expanding our family by one come March. We have a nice house and nice stuff for us to enjoy and to share with our friends. We've worked for all of it, so we appreciate what we have even more. We have nice friends and live in a nice neighborhood. Most importantly is that we love each other deeply and our good friends, as well as a family. She skydives, I skydive, she does good RW and I swoop and tandem. She does triathlons and I get to cheer for her when she does them. She comes to swoop comps and cheers for me. We're not rich, but we're not poor. We're not perfect, but we're perfect for each other. If a little thing like being cold at work is all I have to bitch about, then life is excellent!
