He's correct; higher shutter speeds give more "rolling shutter" effect. See this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecV7oo68vAc Re vibrations, a couple years ago (Sony CX6 then CX12) gave good video in flat or head-down, but had rolling shutter problems in sit-fly (I had one and never found a solution for sit-fly videos) "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

I see the B17 "Memphis Belle" will be at an airshow on 31 July at Old Bucks in the UK (DZ location). Anyone know if there are any possible/planned skydives out of the B17 while she in the UK? I've seen that it was jumped at Chicagoland Skydive in the past couple years. I'd book & pay now if it's possible. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

Thanks for the info above; Castellon looks good. Brutus, the updated brief on each was exactly what I was looking for. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

I like this one below; porn site Xhamster.com is blocking all North Carolina IP addresses: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/porn-site-bans-north-carolina-users-due-to-states-anti-lgbt-laws_us_570bd057e4b0885fb50d9a92 "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

Guns-n-Roses played at the Troubadour w/ Slash and announce a summer reunion tour. Damn that would have been a great evening. http://news.sky.com/story/1671501/guns-n-roses-trio-reunite-after-two-decades I hope they play some London dates. Yes, I was looking at Skydive Algarve. It looks to be a good choice for a trip with wife and kids. Whereas as DZ like Skydive Spain (Seville) looks good from the jumping aspect, but like a lot of dropzones is in the middle of nowhere - so I could only go on my own or with jumping friends. I’ve been out of jumping for the past two years and getting back into it, so my DZ knowledge is a little rusty. Planning some trips now and seeking some updated advice on DZs. I jumped many years at Empuriabrava, but am aware it’s not the DZ it used to be. I haven’t tried Skydive Spain, Madrid or Lillo. Also looking at Gap-Tallard, France. I’ll be mostly wingsuit or freeflying. Additional to the skydiving, I want some scenery, good food and infrastructure. I’m not a bunkhouse/tent guy, so also want a comfortable hotel nearby. Ease of arrival via a London flight is also a key factor. Many of the reviews/threads are 10yrs out-of-date. What are considered the best European DZs today? It's visual cue for the pilot to use while doing aerobatics. For example he can quickly see that he is on a 45 degree angle against the horizon. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

Man loses leg after shooting lawn mower full of explosives
RMK replied to gowlerk's topic in Speakers Corner
Halfwits with guns & explosives are OK in Georgia. They'll probably propose legislation to include "blowin shit up" classes to the school curriculum However, they are greatly concerned with the dangers of ...yoga ?? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/yoga-namaste-ban-georgia_us_56f490ece4b0a372181997c4 "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes" -
Man loses leg after shooting lawn mower full of explosives

...it's Georgia; need we say more. Yet in usual SC fashion, the first reply above is not a comment on the stupidity and banality of shooting a lawnmower filled with explosives - it is guidance on the correct manner of doing so - WTF "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes" -
Not just a threat to the US, but a threat to the world

freebie web site?? The Economist is probably the most well-written and articulate publication available; have you ever read a copy. If you have, you may have also noticed that no articles in the Economist note the author - so no "grandstanding" or self promotion. Stumbled across this really good video. It really shows the perception bias (on size of planets & orbits) we have from our childhood textbooks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR3Igc3Rhfg "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

This must be a farse - It cannot be true . . .

If attempting to be insightful, you can start by at least spelling the subject/title correctly - it's spelled farce. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes" -
It's also not just a South American problem. We've seen this affliction of "small brains" as far north as Iowa. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

I understand what the photographer was "trying" to accomplish. However, he/she made a very amateurish attempt at copying an Annie Leibovitz style of photography. Looks like some kid just got a new camera and copy of Adobe Lightroom v6, but hasn't yet figured out how to use either. Photographic methods to isolate the "characters" are missed, the "leading line" takes the viewer out of the photo. Fuck, even the horizon is off by about 4-6 degrees. They really should test the north Georgia drinking water for lead contamination. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

I remember at around 30ish jumps doing a diving exit and noticing my right hand twitching in freefall during my dive - yes adrenalin rush; will go away in a few more jumps. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

Congrats. Of course only stand-up landings now; you've got to keep your toy looking clean/new. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

In Feb 2002, the wife and I were on holiday in Cape Town, South Africa. I saw either a billboard/advertisement and said to her “I've always wanted to try that; let’s go skydive”; so promptly called and booked. Our jump was from a C206; so just us, tandem masters and a video guy each. Great views with Table Mountain and Robben Island in the background. On my video, the TM asks me after landing “what did you think; is it something you’d like to take up?” I replied yes and made a trip back to South Africa in September of 2002 and completed my AFF and first two consols for only £440 equivalent (the South African Rand had taken a hit that year and everything was unbelievably cheap). After doing my AFF in 4 days in South Africa, it then took me 3 months to finish my consols back in England, but remember landing in a cold/wet/muddy field in mid-December happy knowing that I had just qualified for my A License and was now a skydiver. Yes, just grandstanding and self promotion (to those of lower intellect). "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

Whatever you do; I wouldn't opt for deep fried - it makes the eagle a little dry. I prefer my bald eagle lightly sautéed. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

By numbers, we (skydivers) are less than one basis point (0.0001) of the population. So kind of like being promoted to washroom attendant. Regarding the rise of the Antichrist, I see he came second to Cruz yesterday in the Iowa caucus. How does this affect the "fire & brimstone" timetable? Curious on the dates as I don't want to pay a deposit on a French villa only to find the world is ending. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

A curious event indeed. Our local SC gun experts tell us this cannot happen and have even shared studies with us to both assuage our concern and correct our ignorance of how guns work. Surely this person just failed to attend the requisite NRA class “How to Fuck About with your Gun While in a Public Place 101”. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

I agree with you. Here's another event, showing that carrying in public does affect other people: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/man-afraid-of-shooting-shoots-woman_us_56a7e0e7e4b09e7f4ab2f4e6 "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

Any dropzones out there that use a Piper Navajo?
RMK replied to gunsmokex's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yes, it's noted that with twin engines should one fail, the remaining engine can be used to fly the aircraft to the scene of the crash site.
