  4. +1 [The following was an email I sent to a few friends.] However, in reading [this] whole thread, it makes me even more certain that I will abstain from all bigway attempts going forward. Doesn't matter whose proposal is adopted - or if none of them are. I have a spotless record of being on no bigway "records" (wasn't even on the Mass. record, by design) and I'm definitely keeping it that way. Fuck. This. Shit. The tempest in a teapot with this shit is absurd. I jump because wingsuiting fills my life with a lot of joy and takes me out of the world of petty bullshit stuff. Why are we, as a community, creating so much more of it? Why are we all so eager to create drama? This is not directed at Scott (I appreciated his post), but it's hilariously awesome that everyone involved in this discussion vociferously argues their position and how critically important it is that their approach be adopted, and then ends the post with, "Oh, but I just like to jump..." Well, no - or else your panties wouldn't be in such a twist over the subject. I once got involved in a project relating to wingsuiting because it was about safety - or at least I thought it was. I care about safety, because when we fuck that up we lose brothers and sisters in our sport who are dear to us. All of this? This is about egos. On all sides. And I hope that whatever we do as a community, we'll grow the numbers of people who actively enjoy wingsuiting as I do. But I don't think we are doing ourselves a service with all of the infighting. At one point I thought otherwise, but I've sobered up for a change. For clarity, I am speaking in my individual capacity only. And I realize I have alienated both camps in saying this. Boo fucking hoo. I'm spiffy with that result since you're all being idiots on this subject. Seriously - we jump out of fucking airplanes with nylon wings on, fly for miles, and usually don't get killed doing so. Isn't that awesome enough? 5. Wingsuit rodeo it! Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork
  6. I jump both Skydiver Smoke and the military grade stuff pretty regularly, and I've not had any problems with TSA. Then again, you could probably Waltz a Pershing missile by most of them and they wouldn't bat an eye, but they'll confiscate your tweezers... My theory: everyone knows that tweezers hate our freedoms. Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork
  7. I know that last year a lot of people stayed at Punta Mayarco (in Hatillo). I got a room there this year... Given the location switch, where are people staying? Are you all going to remain in the Hatillo/Arecibo area or try to get rooms closer to Vega Baja (like in Dorado? - which seems to be more expensive). I'm not looking to split a room (I want to get my own), but I'm asking because I'd prefer to hang out where other skydivers are going to be. 12. I predict this thread will be chock full of rational, level-headed discussion in which all viewpoints will be presented without hyperbole or exaggeration, responses will both on-point and respected by those to whom they are directed, and there will be no subtle (or not so subtle) "brand war" issues thrown around. 14. +1 to that. And on a more topical note, the book looks great. Can't wait to have it as the coffee table book for my new place. Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork

  18. Yeah my bubble must be burst with all those "firsts" I claimed I did. Oh, wait a minute! I've never claimed I've done anything first. Or notable. Or even all that interesting. My only claim is that I'm a guy who likes to jump out of an airplane wearing a camera on his head to take crappy pictures. I'm pretty sure you ain't gonna disprove that. As for Flock U, I know I said it before but I'll say it again since reading comprehension clearly isn't mandatory for this forum. I am not a Flock U instructor. I hang out with couple of Flock U instructors (Justin and Lurch) and count the othe Flock U instructors (Spot, Scott, Scotty and Monkey) as friends, but I ain't Flock U. I also am friends with Avery and Harry Parker. Does that make me Team Ill Vision, too? (That would be awesome - I love those guys.) So in short, cut the shit, Glen - it's got nothing to do with Flock U or any other group. It's got to do with everyone on this board just talks trash about everyone else. I know some people love watching the trolls like you, but it's a real waste of what we as a community could be doing. 19. I tried to say it using my (now very rusty) limited Russian language skills, but the Cyrillic letters made the page freak out. Superb job, guys. Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork
  20. Michal, if we got rid of all the retarded bitching about absurd stuff on this forum, the wingsuit forum would be one thread long, and that thread would be titled "Bring back the retarded bitching about absurd stuff." Just a guess, but I'm assuming it was referring to the Wings Over Marl competition. Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork
  21. Spot, I was thinking of four corners when I read the original post... Now, pull that off with five states and you can color me impressed.
  22. This is dropzone.com. Nothing anyone ever does is EVER new. You could strap on a water-propelled jet pack to your wingsuit, add in day glo sparklers, a crop dusting rig, and a solar powered sideward looking radar system with a heads up display, and someone on this forum will say, "Pfffft, nothing new. I did that in Yugoslavia in 1995..." Whether or not it's true. That's just how people are around here. ... On the other hand, that seems like a convenient way to set three USPA state records... [ Edited to add: My post crossed in the ether with Howard's, and my comments aren't directed at him. He's right about Pepperell, since if you land at the far end of the runway, you're in New Hampshire. It's more the general culture of crapping on each other that we find on dizzy.com that I'm referring to. ] Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork

  25. The ski ramp landing is really cool, but we're all forgetting that Ray ("Stoney") Stone landed a wingsuit after exiting an aircraft in flight at Flock & Dock 4.0. Stoney did it without a BASE rig - or anything else other than a wingsuit - for that matter, and ended up with nothing worse than a bloody nose.
