  1. I understand how the rsl works; a very simple device. I'm not sure what your point is. If you could elaborate, I might appreciate it. I think there may be a misunderstanding here.
  2. Does it bother anyone else when people talk about trying "to beat" the RSL? In my limited experience, it seems like a bad idea. In the event of hard cutaway, I would hate to fire a perfectly good reserve into a malfunctioning main. That's not to say you shouldn't pull the silver handle, but maybe a brief pause is in order.
  3. I bought a Sabre 2 150, flew it for several jumps then bought a Safire 2 149. I needed a 2nd rig over a few weekends, borrowed my buddy's Pilot 150 and put about 30 jumps on it. This was my experience: Safire 2 = long snivel, slow opening. Sabre 2 = openings are much more positive Pilot = somewhere in between The Sabre 2 was undeniably more aggressive flying, had the lightest riser pressure and had a more powerful flare. That being said, the openings were a little too harsh for my liking. The Safire 2's flare was also good, but obviously deeper in the toggle stroke. The riser pressure felt heaviest on the Safire. The Pilot was fun to fly, but the controls felt a little mushy to me. Individual canopies can differ, so YMMV. I ended up keeping the Safire, the openings are just too nice and consistent.
  4. I'll be there all weekend. My locker is in the corner behind the gatorade supply
  5. The bunkhouse is nearly empty right now, but the Vikings are coming April 3-21, so that may change... and it does have a small kitchen.
  6. Is there any issue with the magnets of the skytie being in close proximity to the Cypres control unit? I wonder because in Vectors, the control unit is just inside the yoke, right below where the skytie would be located.
  7. Cool. I look forward to it. I'm tired of jumping alone!
  8. Thanks for the love. Wish I would have done this years ago.
  9. Hey all, I recently finished my AFF in Lodi. It was intense to say the least. I had two amazing instructors, Rob Pooley and Erika Dufort... It sounds weird saying instructors, I feel like they are more mentors than anything else. I did some tunnel time with TJ Landgren & MX which made me feel very comfortable in the air. Those guys are legit. Thanks to everyone who welcomed me into the best sport there is. Vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7wEZjDNHso
  10. I went through AFF recently and flying in the tunnel helped me tremendously, not only with the freefall skills, but feeling comfortable on the jumps. PM me and I can give you a number for an excellent tunnel coach in your area.
