    i was taught the following and even though i havent experienced a cutaway the method seems to work at our DZ anyway Look- Look at the handles Locate- Get right hand on cutaway pad and left hand on reserve handle with index finger and thumb surronding handle Cut- peel away cutaway pad Away- punch the cutaway pad Reserve- Pull the reserve handle Arch- Arch :P When i did my training we had 16 hanging harnesses and we would all do it in Sync til it was drilled into us Dudeist Skydiver #170 You do not need a parachute to skydive, you only need one to skydive again

    Worst Canopy- 7 cell cruiselight 220- dunno who even made it but it used to be one of our old demo canopies. shockingly hard openings. Now my electra 170 is just awesome Dudeist Skydiver #170 You do not need a parachute to skydive, you only need one to skydive again

    I have packed ellipiticals like i would squares and theres been no difference on openings- have packed Velo96s to Stilletto 120s and they have opened grand- and i pack them exactly the way i pack my own Electra 170- which is semi-elliptical Dudeist Skydiver #170 You do not need a parachute to skydive, you only need one to skydive again

    theres a guy at our DZ who started RAPS when he was 16. he is now 18 and has near 400 jumps is a cameraflyer, has FS1 and FF1, nearly FF2. i started when i was 18,now 21 and only have 120 jumps Dudeist Skydiver #170 You do not need a parachute to skydive, you only need one to skydive again

    when you jump out of an aeroplane, the forward movement of the plane creates a relative wind speed to jump into so when you jump out your travelling the same speed essentially as the plane already. so if this was at 80mph and average terminal velocity is 120mph then you would only accelerate 40mph. a helicopter has barely any forward movement at all because it hovers so when you leave ityou accelerate from 0-120mph and can feel yourself falling, in fact if you start shouting at eachother you can hear eachother for the first few seconds as the wind noise overcomes ya. if you watch any body jumping out of helis on video you can see how the heli stays in the same position til it disappears from view. its supposed to be like a base jumping feeling Dudeist Skydiver #170 You do not need a parachute to skydive, you only need one to skydive again

    i did dress up as a skydiver tonight!!!!In the bar where i work there was a staff comp to see who would have the best outift. didnt wanna wear my rig so i threaded my chest mount through a belt and wore a rucksack and helmet, googles and jumpsuit- i was very swaety at the end of it all :D Dudeist Skydiver #170 You do not need a parachute to skydive, you only need one to skydive again

    as do I. i hate it when other people pack my canopy cos ya never know what way it might end up. my classic example is when one of my fellow jumpers packed my kit so perfectly it snivelled for far longer than i would have liked to the point where i was about to get off the thing. nearly every one of my pack jobs opens the same and thats how i like it.     in the BPA min altitude to be under a fully inflated canopy is 2000ft and takes me 500 or so feet to open so between 2700-3000 i pull Dudeist Skydiver #170 You do not need a parachute to skydive, you only need one to skydive again
