Ok well I am planning on going in febuary and will try to convince my friend to go for a tandem while I am visiting him, as for I have my A from CSPA and it says I can only do 2 ways... Perhaps they might let me get on a couple 4 ways? Not a freeflyer yet so its all belly for me! In the end I don't even if I can only go solo, I just didn't to go all the way there and not jump so I will be bringing my gear! I don't speak the language but I assume people will speak english otherwise I will have to give my friend a list of key words for him to learn before I go down...

Friend of mine is moving somewhere in the Nova Odessa region so I plan on letting him settle in before heading down so I am looking for a febuary flight, as I understand it it will be summer down there so yeah I will be jumping now from what I could gather it seems he will be located near this Boituva DZ. My question is as follows: what do I need to know/bring as it will be my first time skydiving out of Canada? Also if you know of any other dropzones closer to Nova Odessa please let me know!

You could make copies of the DVD but I am getting the impression these ppl may not all be near you so I suppose your best bet would be youtube. Sign up click upload browse your DVD and your a few minutes (could be more than a few) away from sharing it to anyone you want.

When do you consider yourself a "skydiver"
ifell replied to mitsuman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think you can consider yourself a skydiver when you are 100% present during the whole process (ride up, exit, freefall and of course landing). I became a skydiver on my 4th jump of AFF. -
Not an expert but I can say that I was somewhat dissapointed with my first tandem cause I was expecting fear, adrenaline and all that but I was struck by the calmness of it all (except for the door part). So I went back 2 days later for a 2nd tandem and as it turned out I was absent the whole way down on the first jump cause the second I felt much more aware of everything and roughly half way down the canopy portion of the jump I decided I was going to be a skydiver. That was in 06, 07 was a bad year for me so last may (08) was when I became a skydiver.

Ok so 24 000$ ??? You have to figure plane costs were involved in a big way. Unless extra thick chutes have an extra thick price tag

Should people be banned for doing hookturns in certain places?
ifell replied to CrazyL's topic in Safety and Training
You could land off and do whatever the hell you want... 15 minute walk would be the price to pay but freedom is priceless -
My favorite part is the couple seconds the follow the exit, when your body notices your falling! Doesn't last long but those 2 seconds are my favorite part of the jump... then long tracks!

Never say never! I first learned about this here and saw a couple vids going bad and thought it was a really bad idea but then when I actually saw these guys do it and got to talk to them after the jump its something I want to try for sure!

I actually read you were living down there in another post today and was going to pm regardless... I was just fishing for some info before I did. You will be hearing from me soon and thanks for the tip marcandalysse, I take it this is some place you have been? Steep & deep out there?
-
Sure did, they were talking about doing it from a balloon next but had conerns about the rig. Its not like you can borrow a nav260 from any DZ... Or can you? Edit: Not sure about Sluggo but Mr.Bill was doing his 110th jump

Funny as hell... but yeah you gotta figure someone dropped the ball!

Any big mountain skiiers around here? I am looking to head down way south next summer (mid june) for some skiing in the Andes. I was wondering if anyone here has been there (for skiing) or perhaps even lives there and could give me some first hand knowledge about the region (best places to ski, stay, party... all that stuff). The reason I am asking now is that I got an email today from CASA Tours saying I could put a small payment down for next year and pay 2008 prices and since I was planning that trip anyway... So anyway I thought I would ask around before booking something. Thanks!

Saw one the other day out of a C-182 and the guys doing it put allot of emphasis on using a big ass navigator 240-260 to make the shoulder thing happen safer!
