  1. Of course it is. Robertson expressed his opinion in a magazine interview. So it sounds like the 1st amendment is working fine at making sure the government is not passing laws abridging some backwater redneck's freedom of speech. Remster
  2. Amazing how many skydivers are also lumberjacks. I put on women's clothing And hang around in bars.
  3. If it's 6in heels, you're short. :p Remster
  4. Oh... I forgot this one... I was 2nd last diver on a 30ish way sunset formation load about 2 years ago. The last diver behind me was some airspeed member, who shall remain nameless, but who's last name rhymes with thomashughes. He must have tripped on exit because, as soon as we hit the air, he grabbed hold of me in what _could _ be described as a tackle to the untrained eye. But I'm sure someone of his caliber would never do that... Remster
  5. A large donation is required... It's more like a pound of flesh... Remster
  6. This isn't Bonfire, dearie. In Speaker's Corner, you have to prove what you claim. With your shirt on, we just can't believe your so-called "chest pains". As if. And it allllll comes back to boobies, even over here. Only when well played, like this time. Remster
  7. Awesome advise! I'd also make sure they follow their Garmin GPS to ensure they follow a positive arc into sunset, unless it was the full moon. Seriously, a 2 way: you track perpendicular to jumprun. More than a 2 way: you track away from your formation. Remster
  8. Boy! Do I have a little project for when you come to AZ! Remster
  9. Cheating with NPR. There's no low you won't go to, is there... Remster
  10. Oh man . . . now we have to ask . . . Curtains and drapes? OMG. No way would I answer that. So it's hardwood then. Remster
  11. Someone's been listening to Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Remster
  12. I know this is an old thread that just got necromanced, but, that guy Rob/Mick mentioned may have been me! lol It was in the UK, in 2001 or 2002 I think. And my Reflex poptop got jammed on top of the inside handle of door of a Caravan. 5 more divers behind me, and something had to go. The reserve opening was uneventful, and before I realize exactly what had happened, I had see the plane fly away, and everyone else dive by me. The reserve pin was a bit bent. I lost my freebag. But I remember, it was the loop that let go. Remster
  13. Not in my experience. What I've seen and experienced 1st hand is, if you use a E toll once, they will charge you a daily fee for the entire rental duration. Short rental, no big deal. Long rental, quite the rip off. Ask 1st. Remster
  14. It's nice when people remind you themselves of how classy they are. Remster
  15. You mean, an actual, physical, paper magazine? I'll look for it. :-) On a related note, Bicycling did a good piece of journalism around cycling helmets and what they protect and not protect from a few months ago. It's pretty in dept, and talk about certification in general. http://www.bicycling.com/senseless/index.html Remster
  16. The BassAce is still available! http://www.thinkhelmets.com/helmets/bass_ace.html Flashback: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=32091 Remster
  17. Is it online? Can't seem to find it... Remster
  18. Holy mother of God that's exactly where they were. Those wireless cams you installed in various place in and out of McSwervy's house/car are sure coming in handy now! Remster
  19. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=571.218 An 11 mph impact. That is realistic in driving / riding conditions as the Vertical Speed your falling head will reach is about that from 6' high. It has no relevance in skydiving. And no reporting requirements. PS: educating yourself works much better than having someone else educate you. PPS: If you think that was harsh, you need to grow some skin. Remster
  20. Before asking for "certified" helmets, educate yourself as to what a "certified" helmet is. Remster
  21. Except that Fastex type buckles will probably not release when under load. If you rely on being able to open a buckle like this when suspended by a entanglement on your helmet (either by normal operation, or Brian's jesus string), you'll be wasting time you could use to save yourself. Remster
  22. Dude. Take a deep breath. You're not coming across as a very coherent person right now. Remster
  23. It's a good thing helmet visors and buckles never fail then!!!!!! [rolls eyes] Remster
  24. Buy high and sell low, my son! Remster
